Anyone else with 2.5 stone (15kg) to lose?

Hello,
I was wondering if there were a few people who have a similar amount of weight to lose as me who would like to join a little support group.
I find the massive threads a bit overwhelming, and can't relate as much to those needing to lose half a stone or 5 stone. So ideally I'd love a couple of people starting in Jan who are aiming to lose a similar amount.
I'm not planning on doing a specific diet, just eating a lot less rubbish really. My aim is to be done by July 🤞

I've been aiming for a low and steady 1lb per week loss but hadnt really lost anything, then lost 3lb this week! I've been moving more, doing about 20mins yoga daily and cutting down on snacks. am.hoping this is the start of weekly losses now!

@LavenderfortheBees it's good you aren't being too hard on yourself. If you've been good most of the time the odd slip up won't hinder your overall progress. Re the toilet habits, what's your fibre intake like? Increase the fruit and veg. Berries are low cal and full of fibre. I find all bran or porridge in the morning really helps with some berries on top.

It's fine. I eat loads of veg and have either overnight oats with berries or muesli every morning. This is normal for me as always had sluggish digestion even as a child. The only times I go every day is when I've been eating terribly and drinking far too much weirdly.

1lb down from last Monday which is good.

SW unknown but counting from 175lb

2 lbs lost this week, very pleased with that as had dinner out Friday. Also lost my first half stone so have treated myself to have my nails done next week.

Well done for losses and keep going to anyone who hasn't lost.

Getting there slowly. Hoping to move down to the next weight band next Monday. Fingers crossed!

Fidgetbottom · 30/01/2023 16:13

Day 30: So much protein today…. Shame I haven’t decided to be a bodybuilder yet, what a waste! Haha

Period hit…. I want a pack (or 3!) of squashies so badly!

iamloading · 30/01/2023 19:22

Lost the plot. Need to pull myself together 😬😬

I'm still going OK a few down days but still feeling positive. Trying to focus on the long game of its OK to have some days where its slightly off. Want this to be sustainable. Well done everyone

Timwith2noses · 30/01/2023 21:05

Had my weekend off, enjoyed it (mostly, not the hangover so much). Back to dry and calorie counting today, went out and ran week 4, day 3 and have done a long evening walk so ending on 19000 steps. Not a bad Monday on the whole.

I ate more calories today than I planned, but the issue was that I really hadn’t planned at all! And all within my limit, just not the best choices etc. Really need to meal plan the rest of this week!

Rainsdropskeepfalling · 31/01/2023 08:03

Looks like I'm around 4kg down in the month - around because my weight appears to fluctuate quite a bit on my scales day to day and I'm trying not to obsess about the figure but I know how much more positive I feel if the number is smaller than previous. No real change in clothes I think. I need to up my exercise to have an effect - I run 3x5km a week but it has no impact on my weight of course nor my shape!

Shodan · 31/01/2023 08:11

Weigh in today:

SW 13 st 3lb

CW 12 st 9lb.

Very pleased with that- it's an average of a steady 2lb per week loss, despite some very calorie-heavy meals along the way.

This is actually the longest I've managed to stay on a diet for. I credit you lot for that! Still feeling motivated too.

Fidgetbottom · 31/01/2023 19:02

Day 31: Bit of a meh day, nutrition wise but still on track with my calories.

That is one month down! I only had 1 real blip so far and I am feeling so much better! I really feel like I might actually hit my target this time.

Well done everyone else who is still chugging along here too!

1Step2Step · 01/02/2023 01:25

I’m still here, I forgot my Monday weigh-in. on Tuesday I only lost 200g but I was indulging over the weekend. My weight loss since January 1st is 2.2 kg. I think that for me to get serious I would need to only indulge one or twice a month (although last week was hard with planned outings and dinners). Motivation-wise I feel good and know if I go back on my calorie reduced diet it will happen.

I have my 20 year wedding anniversary in November so I am working towards being fitter and healthier by then.

I definitely feel like I am chugging BUT I have
a. stuck to it (no sugar in Jan!)
b. Lost 10 pounds/4.5 kilos in a month
c. Am menopausal with all the weight issues that brings
d. Can see the difference in my face/stomach (wish I hadn't been too cowardly to photo/measure now but facing the scales was enough)
e. Resisted much temptation - yesterday was Swedish cinnamon buns from a fancy deli and that was hard!

If I even lose just half of the same in Feb then I will be a stone down and over halfway there to a healthy BMI.

Thank you all. This thread keeps me accountable.

OakTreex · 01/02/2023 10:07

After a bit of a crap week (period seems to stop me from shifting weight and then it drops off at the end!) we have another loss for me:

SW: 12 stone 1lbs
GW: 9 stone 7lbs
CW: 11 stone 9lbs

Really happy, 5lbs off in about two weeks!

Timwith2noses · 01/02/2023 16:43

All good here, managed to get out and run week 5, day 1 this afternoon. Tuna sandwich for lunch with crisps and I’m cooking a sweet potato and spinach curry at the moment for dinner. Have managed to plan the week now for meals so feeling positive.

Fidgetbottom · 02/02/2023 14:43

Yesterday I had a big (planned) meal out, full of salt and oil…. so today I am going to eat a little bit lighter on calories to try and balance it out.

Timwith2noses · 02/02/2023 22:11

Just done a strength training workout, I completely forgot all about planning to do it until half an hour ago, but got it in and feeling pleased that I did. Good food day, lunch was a quick and easy cheese on toast and dinner was homemade stir fry with tofu and noodles. Shared some chocolate out of a box I got as a gift with my daughter, but still overall a low cal day.

afinethingindeed · 03/02/2023 06:38

I haven't checked in for a little while. I had an event last weekend so I knew I was going to eat A LOT 😂
I'm back on track this week and feeling good.

SW - 13st 4lbs
CW - 12st 7lbs
TW - 11st 7lbs

So I'm 2lbs down since my last official weigh in.
I'm still feeling really good but did just find out this week that I'm pregnant so I'll have to see over the coming weeks whether I want to keep restricting calories. Will keep going for now.

popandchoc · 03/02/2023 07:39

@afinethingindeed congratulations! Brilliant news.

I am off to legs, bums and tums today . Going for afternoon tea Sunday which is a very belated mothers day from last year for my mum. Will have to be very good rest of the day to try and counteract it.

Lozzybear · 03/02/2023 08:12

Haven’t managed to do any exercise this week as I’ve been I’ll but I’ve still lost a pound so could be worse:

SW: 12st 7
CW: 12st 1
TW: 10:7

Timwith2noses · 03/02/2023 15:31

I’m 1lb down, pleased with that after my weekend off. My total loss since I started weighing is 13lb, I suspect I have actually lost over a stone as I didn’t weigh until week 2. I’ve managed to run for 8 mins non stop this afternoon so I’m feeling pretty proud of myself and actually enjoying this!

Fidgetbottom · 03/02/2023 19:28

Okay day today. No exercise whatsoever but at least my eating has been pretty controlled.

It’s getting harder and harder to resist nibbling on bad foods… And I can never stop myself when I start. I am praying to see some difference in my progress photos and on the scales on Sunday, I am hoping seeing some improvement might help me maintain some motivation.

beepbeepme · 03/02/2023 22:25

I've been on holiday for a week and have not made good food decisions! But it was definitely worth it. On the plus side I walked a lot!

I'll weigh myself in the morning and get back to 16:8.

hellololabells2019 · 04/02/2023 09:33

I'm in!

SW- 12st 7lbs
CW- 12st 4lbs
TW- 10st 5lbs

Slow progress during January.
Need to lay off the cake!
