Anyone else with 2.5 stone (15kg) to lose?

Hello,
I was wondering if there were a few people who have a similar amount of weight to lose as me who would like to join a little support group.
I find the massive threads a bit overwhelming, and can't relate as much to those needing to lose half a stone or 5 stone. So ideally I'd love a couple of people starting in Jan who are aiming to lose a similar amount.
I'm not planning on doing a specific diet, just eating a lot less rubbish really. My aim is to be done by July 🤞

Porridge and banana
Tin of sardines plus a packet of itsu prawn crackers (97 cals)

Gluten free gnocchi with a sauce of reduced down anchovies, tomato's garlic and spinach Some grapes and a large dollop of fat free fromagecfrais

beepbeepme · 26/01/2023 21:46

I had a good day today.

Breakfast: porridge with seeds and blueberries and a coffee with milk.
Lunch: cuppa soup
Dinner: sweet and sour chicken, a coffee with milk

I think I've lost another inch from my waist.

LavenderfortheBees · 26/01/2023 22:23

Chocolate, bread and wine are my downfalls as seems common on here. When I'm in the zone like I am now I have to completely avoid them or I'm done for. I find it really hard for about a week then easier and easier.

My ideal daily food if I could eat anything I wanted would look like this:

Breakfast: toast with either jam or savoury filling like cheese and bacon.
Lunch: big fancy deli sandwich or a pasty
Dinner: pizza
Evening: lots of chocolate or wine and crisps

I often ate like that which is why I am now on this thread. 🙄

I have found a useful method for avoiding cravings. When DP is away I get the urge to have a 'secret' takeaway which is stupid as he doesn't care. If I find myself looking at the Dominos app, I instead make a more calorific dinner than usual so it feels like I've had a treat but don't do nearly as much damage as the takeaway would be.

I’ve had a good day. Lots of steps today with a long evening walk. Totally forgot I had hoped to fit some strength training in too though, never mind!

slow cooker hunters chicken for dinner with broccoli and rice. Tomorrow I’m making chicken kebab fakeaway recipe from pinch of nom, with rice and salad and running first thing. I might have entered the ballot for the great north run this week. Probably a bit ambitious for week 4 of couch to 5k…

Savemesome · 27/01/2023 08:11

Weighed in on Wednesday and had lost 2lb this week. The weekend ahead is a bit daunting, got a family get together with picky lunch, then going out for lunch at a harvester on Sunday. If anyone has buffet suggestions I could take to eat at the family occasion,
or menu suggestions for harvester, I would be grateful!

popandchoc · 27/01/2023 11:21

I am going to harvester tonight @Savemesome . I think they have some options like chicken kebabs and salad but will let you know.

I have caught a cold so trying not to eat lots as feel sorry for myself.

Timwith2noses · 27/01/2023 12:05

I weighed in today instead of Monday as I know my weekend will not be in keeping with my newfound healthy lifestyle!

it’s a big birthday in our house tomorrow and there will be cake and alcohol so it’s going to be a proper day off for me. I’ve dry-January’d from 1st to now but always said I would not be dry tomorrow and when I drink, I snack!

Anyway; good news is I’m 5lb (!!) down. I’m not weighing again till next Fri now though, no point obsessing over what I have eaten and drunk at the weekend.

Fidgetbottom · 27/01/2023 20:01

Day 27: Okay on my calories again but most of my calories have come from sugary foods today.

Doing a roast dinner tomorrow so should at least get some veggies in.

beepbeepme · 27/01/2023 20:34

I've done ok today. Turned down cake and chocolate at my mum's!

Breakfast: porridge with seeds and blueberries, coffee with milk
Lunch: soup
Dinner: small lasagne, coffee with milk

SilkySuky · 27/01/2023 22:07

Dreading weigh day on Sunday as I've had a cold this week and eaten for England. Why can't I do this? It should be so simple to just not put too much in my mouth?
I keep looking at saxenda on boots online but it's so expensive, there's studies that it doesn't work long term and my rational mind knows I'm just looking for a 'magic' solution.

iamloading · 28/01/2023 10:22

Slightly early weigh in for me and I've hit my first target!! 6.2kg lost so I've booked my first treat of a ££ haircut!

Start weight 76kg
New weight 68.8kg
Goal weight 60kg
BMI 27.3 (I'm finally closer to a healthy bmi than obese!!)

So just under a stone lost 🎉🎉

@SilkySuky I know someone who did Saxenda and it was amazing, the weight dropped off. But when they stopped it all just came back again as they hasn't purposely changed their eating habits, the drug just made it happen

Maintained this week. Meh!

CW: 11st

Fidgetbottom · 28/01/2023 12:54

@iamloading Congratulations! Fantastic loss!

Day 28. Early weigh-in for me as well because I am going out tonight and after having only lost 1 pound in the last 2 weeks, I really needed to see a lower number. Will still take my progress photo tomorrow though (I find it’s really interesting to see how my body is changing every week!). 9st12 3/4! So that’s a 2lb loss this week! Chuffed with finally being under the 10’s!

SW 10st7
CW: 9st 12 3/4
GW: 8st

Great job everyone! We got this!

SilkySuky · 28/01/2023 15:50

@iamloading thanks, yes I know someone who has done the same, and it doesn't sound like a healthy way of doing it unless you've got co morbidities which I haven't......yet.
Just feeling frustrated and bad tempered as am still struggling with a head cold. It's going to be better next week.

Like another pp I've got a big holiday this summer and I want to like how I look in the pics for once so I am motivated!
Just needed a bit of a whinge.

OakTreex · 28/01/2023 16:53

Can I join? I started using Noom recently and want to lose about 2.5 stone.

SW: 12 stone 1lbs
CW: 11 stone 10lbs
GW: 9 stone 7lbs.

So far I've lost about 5lbs in just under 2 weeks which I'm really pleased about and it's helping motivate me to keep going!

Thought joining in with you guys would help keep me accountable if you don't mind!

TheLostArt · 28/01/2023 22:06

Been on a sofa hunt today and clocked up over 30,000 steps. Ate out - a toastie for lunch on the move then a proper restaurant meal, much fancier than expected. But all accounted for on Nutricheck, every mouthful enjoyed, bought a glass of wine not a bottle to share and no guilt as it was a treat. Definitely want this to be a habit changing diet, not another fad and this feels like the way to go.

Makegoodchoices · 28/01/2023 23:55

I haven’t done a weigh in for a bit as after being ill for 10 days I was worried I was being too inconsistent to get good news, but I’ve just measured my waist and I’ve lost 4 inches off it this month!

So that’s got me enthused about it all. Maybe I’ll actually do that weigh in tomorrow 😁

popandchoc · 29/01/2023 08:08

Well done for the losses .
Not had the best couple of days . Went to harvester Friday but did go for something healthier than I would normally . Had a cold so feeling hungrier but feeling slightly better this morning .

Lozzybear · 29/01/2023 08:27

I had my second weigh in on Friday and lost another pound. Really pleased with that as my period was due and struggled to keep to 1200 calories per day in the run up to that.

SW: 12 stone 7
CW: 12 stone 2
GW: 10 stone 7

RicciardoPerez · 29/01/2023 13:22

My goals for this week attached. I've posted this on my Instagram for accountability.

Just taken all my measurements to track progress that way too... should have done that from the start lol!

Fidgetbottom · 29/01/2023 14:43

Day 29: Took my new progress photos and I can really see a difference now, especially in my back. It has definitely renewed my motivation (which was starting to drop a bit).

Bangers and Mash (with a large side a veggies) cooking now.

LavenderfortheBees · 29/01/2023 15:18

Not a brilliant day yesterday as had A LOT of wine but added up I think my calories came to around 2k which is maintenence so it likely hasn't undone the work from the week. Resisted the waffles with maple syrup DP made for the hangover breakfast which is a win.

I'll aim to weigh in tomorrow but part of the problem with eating less is that I am 'ahem' passing less than usual and can go days between pooping. I know I can weigh lbs less after a visit to the loo so try and time weighing with this in mind.

blebbleb · 30/01/2023 02:34

Sw 11st 11. Current weight 10at 7. Target weight 8 stone 7. Feeling good! I've lost 2lbs this week. Going for more plant based food. I'm only allowing myself half a bottle of wine once a week which is really helping.

blebbleb · 30/01/2023 02:36

@LavenderfortheBees it's good you aren't being too hard on yourself. If you've been good most of the time the odd slip up won't hinder your overall progress. Re the toilet habits, what's your fibre intake like? Increase the fruit and veg. Berries are low cal and full of fibre. I find all bran or porridge in the morning really helps with some berries on top.
