Anyone else with 2.5 stone (15kg) to lose?

Hello,
I was wondering if there were a few people who have a similar amount of weight to lose as me who would like to join a little support group.
I find the massive threads a bit overwhelming, and can't relate as much to those needing to lose half a stone or 5 stone. So ideally I'd love a couple of people starting in Jan who are aiming to lose a similar amount.
I'm not planning on doing a specific diet, just eating a lot less rubbish really. My aim is to be done by July 🤞

Today in my office: plates of mini croissants, Danishes, pain au Chocolat. A platter of cheese. Bags of crisps. Left over gingerbread. So far I have not touched a crumb but it is taking all my willpower.

RicciardoPerez · 24/01/2023 13:24

@TheLostArt where do you work? I'll come round and eat it all lol!!!!

Just had scrambled eggs on two slices of bread - 429 calories.

Dinner tonight is hello fresh meal at 661 calories leaving me with 130 calories after I logged my teas I've has.

Still doing 16:8. Finding it good to manage. Really need to do a workout at some point!!

RicciardoPerez · 24/01/2023 16:19

Did my little 10 minute kick-boxing on apple fitness. 10 mins was enough as I feel sick now lol!

iamloading · 24/01/2023 16:50

@TheLostArt you deserve at least a half a stone loss this week for avoiding all of that today 😂😂

So tonight's dinner wasn't filling at all. I'm peckish! I want chocolate - help! Lol

Absolutely! I believe I lose a pound for each time someone offered me a treat don't I?

In an arts organisation which does a lot of events and on some days leftovers make their way to the office. It's probably not a coincidence that working there has coincided with me being the heaviest I have ever been unless pregnant. I consoled myself with an orange today while the smell of baked goods wafted towards me. Not quite the same.

beepbeepme · 24/01/2023 23:03

Not a good day today! Been out all day and eaten lots! Back on it tomorrow!

Fidgetbottom · 24/01/2023 23:18

Day 24. Not a bad day tbh. I sized down in my work trousers which I am obviously chuffed with. Need to start choosing healthier foods again though as I am definitely starting to veer more towards chocolate rather than healthier options again.

SpaceOP · 25/01/2023 10:20

You are all very impressive. Sadly, I have basically completely fallen off the wagon and with the exception of limited snacks, have been eating (and DRINKING) like I'm 22! Sigh. Also, period started unexpectedly (another fun side effect of peri-menopause). So I have gained back 0.6kg. Could be worse I guess.

I am back to making an effort from today. Although it's DH's birthday next week so suspect we'll be a bit off diet then.

Fidgetbottom · 25/01/2023 17:41

Day 25: Pro: Got 5 portions of fruit/veg in today. Con: Won’t be a very high calorie deficit today.

Noticed I am suffering way less headaches since I started actively trying to eat fruit and veg and drink more water.

beepbeepme · 25/01/2023 20:04

A better day for me.

Breakfast: porridge with seeds and blueberries, coffee with milk
Dinner: chicken caesar salad, ice cream with banana

RicciardoPerez · 25/01/2023 20:09

Over by 100 calories. I had a wispa earlier. I needed it!

afinethingindeed · 25/01/2023 20:30

My scales have broken 😭
I'm used to weighing in almost daily. Quite tempted to just keep going and not buy new scales for a few weeks and hopefully have a nice surprise..
Or I'll cave and buy some this weekend 😂
I'm feeling good though..going strong with the diet!

Timwith2noses · 25/01/2023 21:54

I’m still here, just v busy this week. All going well and smashed my week 4, day 1 run this morning 😊

TheLostArt · 26/01/2023 07:38

Three and a half weeks in and the dreaded plateau. Just half a pound off in 6 days. I walked well over 10 k a day, only counted fitness calories sat and sun and was still under, been within nutricheck calorie goals excluding fitness extras every day and still no sweet stuff - no chocolate, biscuits, cake... For half a pound.
This is where it's easy to give up. It's cold, dark and Jan feels neverending. BUT still over half a stone lost, another stone and a half to be a healthy weight. I have this.

iamloading · 26/01/2023 10:14

@TheLostArt it's so bloody demoralising at times isn't it!! I always find I have a bigger loss after a plateau though so hang on in there!

So I'm struggling a bit today. I'm feeling light headed and was nauseous this morning, but not now after a cup of tea. made another cuppa in the hope it shifts this light headedness....

Riverlee · 26/01/2023 13:27

Went out and did a tennis exercise session. Good! Then came in and ate chocolate! Bad!

However, exercise is good for toning your body so I may not have lost any calories, but it’s a step towards looking better. I ache now though.

LavenderfortheBees · 26/01/2023 15:04

Hi all

Have been on this since start of Jan and mostly doing well. No idea of starting weight but weighed in on Monday at 12st 7lb. Aiming for 10st and under to get me to a healthy BMI.

Aiming for 1200 cals and a 45 min workout 5 times a week.

Breakfast most days is muesli and yoghurt.
Lunch some sort of protein and veg/salad or a protein bar if on the go.
Dinner varies but going for lowish carb. Today is leftover bean chilli with brown rice or veg.

Shodan · 26/01/2023 15:15

Well I went galloping merrily over my calorie allowance yesterday- dinner out with my eldest son, his girlfriend and her parents. I did try and choose the healthiest option (halibut, which was delicious) but then threw caution to the wind and had creme brulee for pudding (and a rare glass of wine).

I'm finding I'm craving sugary things at the moment- probably to do with being cold and tired but it's hard to ignore those cravings...

TheLostArt · 26/01/2023 17:25

I bought that killa vanilla stick to help with sugar cravings. I keep them on my desk and have a good sniff when feeling weak. Also having a few nuts after dinner as good fats and protein but feels indulgent

Fidgetbottom · 26/01/2023 18:06

i think it’s good that even when we are having a bad day, or have completely fallen off, We are still checking in. I find it helps me from turning 1 bad day, into 2 then 3.

great going everyone. We have got this!

Day 26: Actually hit my protein goals! Not a bad calorie day either! I am relying on surprisingly low calorie meringues as a sugar hit when the cravings hit.

iamloading · 26/01/2023 18:28

I'm really struggling with the chocolate cravings at the moment. It's always been my downfall - I can resist everything else easily.
I'm staying within my calories but only by having days where I'm skipping a meal and having a chocolate bar instead. Not ideal 😬

Shodan · 26/01/2023 21:16

@iamloading Do what you have to, I say. If sometimes having a bar of chocolate instead of a meal helps you through then I say go for it (I am aware that it's Not Healthy or Good For You but pffft)

I'd forgotten about meringue nests. c. 50 calories for a lot of sweetness. I might get some of those.
