Anyone else with 2.5 stone (15kg) to lose?

Hello,
I was wondering if there were a few people who have a similar amount of weight to lose as me who would like to join a little support group.
I find the massive threads a bit overwhelming, and can't relate as much to those needing to lose half a stone or 5 stone. So ideally I'd love a couple of people starting in Jan who are aiming to lose a similar amount.
I'm not planning on doing a specific diet, just eating a lot less rubbish really. My aim is to be done by July 🤞

Day 13. Much better day for me today, although I do feel very bloated. I am hoping that disappears before my Sunday weigh in.

Rainsdropskeepfalling · 13/01/2023 23:34

I've eaten everything in sight today. Ridiculous. I'm back on it tomorrow

Endofmytetherfinally · 14/01/2023 00:20

Struggling. Suddenly starving and as I'm in my 2nd trimester I don't really want to ignore it. I've upped my exercise massively. Just yoga but the classes are hard and I've done 4 in the last week. Seems to make me exhausted and very hungry after. Trying to make healthy choices but it's not easy.

1Step2Step · 14/01/2023 07:26

So I ended up having a few sweets and a couple of rum & cokes (diet) last night. Other than that the diet has been going very well. I also haven’t exercised this week , oops. Monday weigh-in will be interesting…

iamloading · 14/01/2023 08:48

Day 13 and still being good here. Have lots of friends round tonight though so I really don't want to blow it. I'm going to try and make one glass of wine last the whole evening

Have taken youngest out for the morning but we are sat in the car park as it doesn’t open till 11 🤦

all good here, planning lots of steps in our activities today and then some strength training at home later. We are having a takeaway for dinner tonight, and if the kids choose I imagine it will be Chinese food, which is not my favourite so it shouldn’t be too hard to make reasonable choices and cook some plain rice to have with it. I like king prawns in black bean which I don’t think will be too calorific.

TheLostArt · 14/01/2023 12:02

According to my scales I have either lost 3.5, 6 or 14 pounds! New scales on order. Keeping to calorie goals, not counting the extras from walking and not touched anything sweet since Jan 2. Am allowing wine at weekends but buying quarter/half bottles so can log exactly and not be tempted by 'one more glass'.
New running leggings and sports bra just arrived so next plan is a slow jog as soon as this deadline is met.
Feel really determined which is new.

beepbeepme · 14/01/2023 12:17

Not an official weigh in but I've lost 6 lbs since I started. However ... meeting friends at the pub today and will have wine, so may not be so great on Monday 😳

Breakfast today: porridge with seeds and apricot and a tangerine, coffee with milk.

Surprisingly, am down another 0.6kg. That makes a total of 2.6 since beginning of december but, more relevant for me, its 1.3kg in the almost 2 weeks since I started this process. And as it's been a bit mixed in terms of what has been doable, I'm especially pleased. It looks like generally making better choices is definitely working.

Is anyone finding that because sometimes you have super low calorie, that actually, when you eat a "normal" or even a lighter-than-prevoius meal, you find yourself absolutely stuffed? I missed breakfast this morning so got a role and 2 baby bells to eat on way home and feel like I've eaten a 3 course meal!

nopeasplease · 14/01/2023 15:50

Fallen off the wagon a bit. Had 3/4 of a bottle of wine last night and felt rough this morning so have eaten a lot - relatively healthy stuff (bar the half block of cheese) but just vast amounts :( going to try and get back on track for the rest of the day. It doesn't help that the weather is awful here so any motivation to get out for a run / walk has vanished :(

roselune · 14/01/2023 16:07

I've noticed an interesting early non scale victory - my fingers have got slimmer! I know because I've been wearing some rings in the past couple of weeks that only fit some of my fingers and now they are getting too big and/or fit the fingers they didn't at first. 😁 I think it may just be a reduction in bloating after cutting down on salt and sugar?

RicciardoPerez · 14/01/2023 16:20

Been MIA since joining this thread (and a name change).

Anyway, this week, back to work and tried 16:8 and limiting to 1200 calories in my window. 5lb loss this week! Over the moon with it!

Thomasina79 · 14/01/2023 17:54

Since I started in April I’ve come a long way. The most helpful thing I did back in august was to give up the wine I was regularly having with my supper. I missed it at first, but not now. Now I am on the last stretch the weight is still coming off, but slowly. I did go through a stage where I stayed the same, although Christmas did not help! Not going down again hopefully! I keep having to buy new leggings!

beepbeepme · 14/01/2023 18:29

Nice to see quite a few still here!

As expected I had wine today, two large glasses. Apart from that, porridge with seeds and apricots for breakfast, dinner was 2 rashers of bacon, 2 fried eggs, baked beans and fried mushrooms, and two coffees with milk. Hopefully not too bad! Won't eat anything else now until breakfast tomorrow, but may be eating out tomorrow.

Fidgetbottom · 14/01/2023 20:15

Day 14 done. Another alright day. Pretty pleased with how strong and consistent my motivation has been. I have had a few treats here and there but I haven’t binged at all!

NewspaperTaxis · 14/01/2023 21:21

I find it hard to get going unless some exercise is in the offing, even just a run around the block.
The rain/chlll alternative weather is not helping with this.

Shodan · 14/01/2023 23:22

I went to my first yoga class the other day. It was...ok. I'm not sure it's for me at this time- I feel the urge to do more active, calorie-burning exercise while I'm trying to lose weight. May go back to it at a later date though.

One thing that's trying sabotage my efforts though- my insomnia is back. And when you're lying there at 2 am, unable to sleep, and your stomach is growling cos it's been 7 or 8 hours since dinner...well, Biscuits Happen. I've kept it reasonable so far (only 2 digestives) but it's annoying.

SilkySuky · 15/01/2023 08:55

Morning all,
Half a kilo this week sigh
It's fine, it's week 2, which is always bad.
Onwards!

1kg down this week, making a total of 2.2kg. I'm not even sure if that's just the weight I put on in December tbh but generally feeling better and a lot less bloated.

Doingitriggtthistime · 15/01/2023 11:36

Feeling a bit deflated this week. After a good week food wise and brisk walking 5+k each day even in the rain only lost 0.2kg currently sitting at 80.0kg now total loss 2.2kg hope I have numbers change next week well done everyone else your all doing so well.

Timwith2noses · 15/01/2023 12:20

Pleased for those of you with losses that you wanted.

I have dinner in the slow cooker from my new cookbook, honey mustard chicken and my husband will make mash to serve with it, so I’ll need to be mindful that it will be made with LASHINGS of butter and milk and portion accordingly 🤣 - I’ll load up on the accompanying brocolli.

started week 3 of c25k a day early and ran this morning because I have a crazy busy work day tomorrow and unless I get up at stupid o clock (and I just don’t feel prepared to do that) it wouldn’t happen. So feeling virtuous now…

Just eaten lunch of quorn ham and salad wrap with some wotsits and trying to keep drinking plenty of water throughout the day. Pleased with how I’m settling into this so far. I’ve lost track of what day (maybe 14?) I’m on but I think I can say I’ve been healthier for 2 weeks now and I’m still feeling good about it 😊

Fidgetbottom · 15/01/2023 12:29

Day 15. Weigh-in

Gain of 1/8th of a pound from last week.
Making my total loss from NYD 4lb 7/8ths

Trying not to get discouraged and to just trust the process because I know I was absolutely fine on my calories all week.

I do feel slimmer so there is that!

Well done everyone!

Rainsdropskeepfalling · 15/01/2023 16:44

I always find week2-week3 is where you separate the girls from the women - it's where I always find you have rise about the number on the scales and carry on. And I'll be the first to admit I don't always manage it
