Anyone else with 2.5 stone (15kg) to lose?

Hello,
I was wondering if there were a few people who have a similar amount of weight to lose as me who would like to join a little support group.
I find the massive threads a bit overwhelming, and can't relate as much to those needing to lose half a stone or 5 stone. So ideally I'd love a couple of people starting in Jan who are aiming to lose a similar amount.
I'm not planning on doing a specific diet, just eating a lot less rubbish really. My aim is to be done by July 🤞

McDonalds after DC sports training…but I have resisted a McFlurry even though both DC are having one. Small wins!

beepbeepme · 11/01/2023 21:24

Been out today and didn't eat well at all 😩 scampi and chips and apple pie with custard 😬 tomorrow's a new day though!

Fidgetbottom · 11/01/2023 21:26

Day 11 (basically) done and was within my calories!

Anyone else split things up like “I only have an hour left at work, so I just have to get through 20 minutes 3 times… or 5 minutes 12 times”?

i am doing that now! Summer was about 180(ish) days from New Years…

Yesterday (the 10th) I genuinely said to myself “Well that is 1/18th done, so I only have to do what I have just done another 17 times…” wtf is wrong with me! Haha

iamloading · 11/01/2023 22:20

Can relate to that @Fidgetbottom I just want time to hurry up and be done 😂😂

Just checking in, this board is really helping to keep me in check, thank you for starting it op.
I did day 8 of yoga with Adrienne and am feeling proud to have kept it up and only 1 day missed so far.
I'd put on weight on Monday for what was meant to only be a weekly weigh in but had a sneaky peek today and have now gone a little below what I was at the start of this. My scales do ounces so is still not a pound loss yet but at least it's going in the right direction! I'd crossed over the 13st mark on Monday which feels.file a.major red line (I'm only 5'2") so am.happy to be lower than that again.
Am definitely starting to feel less sluggish due to slightly better eating and the yoga and i feel like I am moving more easily so hopefully it will have a spiral effect. well done so far everyone.

Just noticed, my Fitbit shoe that my resting heart rate has come steadily down since new year. I think must be it the no drinking that is helping…the only blip is the morning after the only evening I had a few wines

PomRuns · 12/01/2023 07:03

@CalmConfident ibr noticed that about my resting heartbeat too. I think carbs does the same - maybe sone intolerance??

I’ve gone a bit off track - resetting !

Shodan · 12/01/2023 08:21

I have to keep reminding myself that it took basically two years to put on the unwanted 2 stone, it's not going to come off in ten days, no matter how much I think it should after Being Good 😂

Wednesdays are a bit dicey for me- DS2 is doing the DofE and chose as his 'skill' to do a cookery course (and what a ripoff THAT is, btw), but yesterday's offering was Asian style salmon and vegetables, so yay. Also had lunch out with sis but resisted the lure of the lasagne and had smoked salmon bagel- not brilliant for calories I guess but could've been a lot worse. I am getting more into the swing of things.

I've also managed to find a replacement yoga class for the one that got cancelled, so I'm having my first class tomorrow.

rogueone · 12/01/2023 10:40

Shodan that is so true, I gained 3 stone over 2 years and it took a year to lose 2 stone and my last stone is proving a struggle not helped with perimenopause

Shodan · 12/01/2023 13:14

Yes @rogueone peri and menopause is a fucker to have to take into account. I think that's what contributed a large part to my weight gain in the first place (that and the fact that I had a minor injury which meant I was doing far less exercise). I was eating the same amount and type of food as I always have and suddenly it was converting into fat, instead of keeping me at my normal weight.

anxiousatnight · 12/01/2023 13:50

First weigh in at SW - I lost 5.5!

My food has been good this week but I haven't been very active, so going to try to do more exercise next week.

rogueone · 12/01/2023 14:39

anxiousatnight amazing results! Well done

beepbeepme · 12/01/2023 17:58

I'm menopausal and it has definitely affected my figure, it's a bitch 😠

I've had a better day today though. Not eaten too much.

CalmConfident · 12/01/2023 18:35

I have fallen off the sensible eating wagon into a pile of carbs today (well to be totally accurate doorstop toast with salted butter…I knew I should not have bought nice bread - rookie error!!!!)

howver…off to body combat class at the uk tonight, first one in about 4 years 😂

Thomasina79 · 12/01/2023 21:30

I have been dieting for nine months and am now in size 16/18. I have clothes in my wardroom from when I started size 24! Did not weigh myself at the start, as too scared, it in august I weighed 15 1/2 stone at the doctors, I was horrified. I now weigh 13 stone four Ibs, hoping to be nearer just 13 next weekend. My grandaughters birthday! It is hard, especially after nine months and I have given up so much in terms of biscuits, wine, cakes etc. I write up exactly what I have eaten and calories I try not to have more than 1,200 a day.

I need to ,lose two stone, I still have a horrible wobbly tummy which is slightly smaller. I also have stick like arms and legs! Two stone is for me the last hurdle, but I know it can be done.

Fidgetbottom · 12/01/2023 21:38

My Day 12 was an okay day. Fell off a little and have munched on a couple of caramel and chocolate meringues, a white Cadbury cream egg (heaven!) and a few slices of bread with butter and chicken paste.

I was still okay on my calories because I did a 25 minute incline treadmill walk…. But my calorie deficit wasn’t where I was hoping it would be.

Lozzybear · 13/01/2023 09:26

What’s everyone using to track their calories?

Shodan · 13/01/2023 09:29

@Lozzybear I'm using MFP, mostly because it's the first one I came across and also I'm a creature of habit.

I find it easy to use as well.

SpaceOP · 13/01/2023 09:30

@Thomasina79 That's amazing, well done!!!!

I have had an average few days with some good moments and some not great ones. Had dinner out, with wine, on wednesday and accidentally had a bit too much wine on Tuesday as we heard the dog was going to make it. But on the other hand, dinner out, while it was clearly calorific, I didn't do my usual thing of eating All the bread and ALL the potatoes and ALL the fries followed by ALL the pudding, so I feel like I'm overall making better choices most of the time which is at least half the battle. Also managed to start getting my steps up again. will do a weigh in tomorrow. I'm hoping for a small loss but not expecting more than that, at best.

Lozzybear · 13/01/2023 09:35

Thanks @Shodan

popandchoc · 13/01/2023 10:20

I use MFP too as always seems to work well for me.

Off to legs bums and tums in a min , could be painful after a few weeks off.

beepbeepme · 13/01/2023 11:19

Started the day well, had a two mile walk (for me that's a lot!), then healthy breakfast of porridge with mixed seeds, tiny bit of honey and apricots.

Timwith2noses · 13/01/2023 15:38

I’m another MFP user. I find it pretty easy. I’ve set my daily calorie goal to 1600 but when I exercise I don’t eat the extra calories and l mostly eat 1400-1500 daily now I’ve settled into it. I’m happy with that as I don’t feel deprived or hungry.

Positive day for me, eaten well, completed week 2 C25k this morning and tagged on a walk so I’m heading into the evening on 12000 steps. Going to do some strength training over the weekend and have already planned and (online) shopped for next weeks meals. Feeling good.

beepbeepme · 13/01/2023 16:25

I missed lunch today, but just had dinner of a small lasagne, home made yogurt with half a tsp sugar and apricots, and I've got a tangerine to eat before 5.30 when I start fasting. I've also had a few almonds.

AFineBalance · 13/01/2023 19:31

I’ve had an off 24hrs with delayed work Christmas do and assoc it arre hangover/tiredness. Back to smaller eating tmw
