Anyone else with 2.5 stone (15kg) to lose?

Hello,
I was wondering if there were a few people who have a similar amount of weight to lose as me who would like to join a little support group.
I find the massive threads a bit overwhelming, and can't relate as much to those needing to lose half a stone or 5 stone. So ideally I'd love a couple of people starting in Jan who are aiming to lose a similar amount.
I'm not planning on doing a specific diet, just eating a lot less rubbish really. My aim is to be done by July 🤞

Week 1, day 3 run complete. Extra steps for long walk home with a flat white after.

WFH and just stopped for lunch if lefotver daal and flatbread then back to it. Planning chilli and rice for dinner and possibly another walk later.

feeling less bloated today and energy levels have definitely improved. Day 5 I think.

Would love to join. I am aiming to lose 18kg. I weighed in on the 1st and i was 80.2kg. I am 162cm / 5’3 and a size 14 atm. I have given myself a goal to get to 62kg by Christmas 2023. My medium term goal is to lose 10kg in 16 weeks.

I feel like since I turned 40 (I am 44 now) my metabolism has taken a nose dive. Covid was shockingly bad diet-wise. I had my gall bladder out 3 months ago after many undiagnosed biliary attacks/episodes.

Same height and weight as me! My first weigh in today- 12st8lbs, never been so heavy, and being on the shorter side it's so obvious!

Been exercising a lot this week (swimming and weights- ive hurt my foot so running is out currently) , and being more conscious of food. So hoping I'll see a result. Only going to weigh weekly though to prevent becoming obsessive!

I took some photos of myself this morning (as per the pp who suggested it).

Ewwwwwwww 😂I hadn't realised quite how far into denial I'd gone. Still, if nothing else, they are a powerful motivator.

On another note- my legs still hurt from Tuesday's bootcamp. Am wondering if I've gone in too hot and heavy, as it were...

I've had a fairly good day. Really not struggling with the 16:8 at all. Yet!

Today I had porridge made with half milk half water with a tiny bit of honey and some mixed seeds, a tangerine and a coffee with milk for breakfast, a small bowl of vegetable soup for lunch and a ready meal chicken curry with a little rice followed by blueberries for dinner. I've snacked on a few almonds.

2.5 pounds lost this week but suspect they are the easy not eating stray mince pies pounds. Working from home and deadlines have made me less active than normal but stuck to no processed sugar (so fruit allowed but less than usual) and sensible portion sizes. Felt very 1970s with my cottage cheese on crackerbread lunch! Snacks a handful of nuts, carrots or a teaspoon of hummus on said crackerbread, and fewer of them. Staying sensible over the weekend, but will have a g&t or two tonight. I want this to be sustainable after all.

Haven't braved the photos, in awe of those of you that have!

Day 6 done for me here. Had a bit of cake at work but I was so controlled I really impressed myself. There was so much!

This time feels different, you know?

Solidarity with those who also took photos. When I looked at mine after my husband took them…. I could barely look him in his eyes! Haha.

Still resisting the temptation to get on the scales. New weigh-in and photos on Sunday. (I am almost looking forward to it). My work trousers already felt less tight!

I did some exercise tonight, I looked them up on Pinterest. Just a little bit of cardio and then some exercises aimed at toning my stomach. I'm sure I'll ache tomorrow!

Felt like I’d been a bit shaky on it all today, but when I put everything into MFP it was still under, so that’s good. No exercise today as I have the lurgy and spent most of the day on the sofa.

Cannot wait until my waist stops bulging over my waistband. It’s a few weeks away but the joy will be mine.

Bloody men 😡I also had a Bit of a Tiff with DP yesterday which culminated in me snottily wailing that I felt fat and unattractive. Feel better today though.

My legs also hurt significantly less.

I'm going to go out for a long, wet and windy walk today. And do the exercises on my Learn How To Do A Press Up chart.

Very happy today, lost 3 pounds since Tuesday. Doing weekly weigh ins and exercising daily, getting steps in and recording all calories. I know my demon is wine so have had to stop that too to get me kick started. Well done to everyone

Morning everyone, hope you’re all doing well. I had a mini binge at about 10pm last night, fortunately I was well under calories that day so I don’t think it will cause too much damage, and I surprisingly feel okay about it this morning, where usually I’d think ‘oh well, you’ve blown it again’ and reach for some leftover Christmas chocolates for breakfast and have one of those weekends again, I just woke up and felt like ‘okay, you might be slightly over what you wanted your calorie intake to be yesterday, but move on’ there’s definitely a motivational shift that I really do want this weight off.

@Endofmytetherfinally Sorry to hear about your argument, I completely understand that feeling of reaching for comfort food when you can feel overwhelmed emotionally. It’s such a difficult pattern to break, I do truly believe that I’m a food addict and there’s a chemical /drug type dependence that I feel towards certain kinds of food. It’s just impossible to go cold turkey from food! I wish I could afford therapy to unravel it all.

Any one else constipated re change of diet. Probably just my body getting used to new ways of eating hopefully.
im drinking more water but less tea so may need to increase water more.
Im making lentil soup today and will have that for lunch today.
I love it so need to be mindful to stick to a quarter of the pan as it’s for four people. I will freeze half and eat the other portion tomorrow.

For sure it's always emotional for me or boredom.. I'm the same as @StreamingCervix though, didn't let it put me off kilter today. Honestly just seeing my calories daily makes it so much easier to not binge. I've found lose it 20 x easier than myfitnesspal and it's helped me want to change the actual foods I eat too vs just the amount.

There's a beginners yoga class I have been toying with trying. This might be the time. I sort of feel too embarrassed until I'm at least a little stronger. which I know is silly but can't help it.

I am a bit irritated as an old shoulder injury has flared up and I'm struggling to move at all. I saw my chiro yesterday which helped a lot but it's not all the way yet. I have another appointment this week and a massage booked for next week so hopefully that will help as I haven't even felt up to walking the dog.

I've never done yoga before but this week I've down loaded a yoga for beginners app. (It's got a red background with 2023 flash across the corner) It is free and you don't need to pay for a personal plan. I chose the yoga for weight loss option. You just enter some basic info about how fit you are. It gives me 9 simple yoga poses to do each day. Takes less than 15 mins to do. Stuck at it so far but only been doing it for 3 days. 🤣 Thought it might be something you could try.

Day 6 here and all going well. Dry Jan definitely helping as I snack when I’ve had a drink, but not drinking so no evening snacking. Waiting for my pea and mint soup to finish in the soup maker, have a light choc dessert pot for after and then I’m making a start on cleaning the house 😩- I’m not weighing but I put on a pair of jeans that I bought before Christmas but felt too tight for comfort over the festive period and they are definitely more comfortable now so hopefully I’m less bloated and shifting some festive weight off my tummy.

It’s a day off real exercise for me today, I ended on about 21000 steps yesterday after my evening walk and my hips and knees feel a little creaky today. I might do a dumbbell routine later if I feel like it after the mammoth house clean.

Planning to cook Thai red chicken curry for dinner later with boiled rice.

I’d like to join if I haven’t missed the boat! I am 13st 12 and I would love to lose 2.5 stone. I have joined slimming world for the public weigh-in/shame as a motivator. Initial strategy is mainly just cut out ALL the crap!

Today wasn't a great day because I visited my mum and she'd made chicken kievs, cauliflower cheese and roast potatoes for lunch with cheesecake to follow. I had porridge with seeds and blueberries this morning, so won't have anything else now.

Day minus 2 as I haven't started yet but I do feel the lack of Christmas booze is helping me get in the right mode to lose weight.

Coming to the end of day 7. Still very much on track. I have decided as per a pp idea to reward myself at every 5kg loss.
First 5kg - order this memorabilia tee shirt I really like but couldn’t justify paying for.
10kg - Unknown. Maybe a new video game. Still thinking.
15kg (goal weight) - Spa day. With treatments, hot stone massage, hot oil head massage etc… might also throw in getting hair done.

Weigh-in tomorrow.
