I haven't really been tracking anything over the last few weeks. I weighed myself this morning and it's the lowest I've been, but I have no idea how much of a loss it is. So my focus this week is just being better with tracking in general.
@Sunshineandrainbow If you find you're eating too much at a specific time, you've identified something you can change. Can you not buy the binge food? Or hide it away? Or start a new routine - go for a walk, or do a fun activity or something.
I find there aren't really any great crisps, because the lower calorie ones also tend to be in smaller packets. I do like Pom Bear and similar but they're not quite the same. The Baked ones are good, especially prawn cocktail if you can find it.
@ToffeeNotCoffee well done, you've nearly lost your first stone!
Hi @Pandermonium
@WeirdPookah It is exhausting having to make better choices all the time, so can you make it so you don't have to? That sounds weird, but meal planning can really help - you make one decision about what you are (and aren't) eating and then stick to it. I tend to plan on a daily basis, but some people find weekly (or even by meal) works better. Shut all the kids' snack food in a cupboard and mentally label it as for them not you.
@ShinyPikachu I did not understand the Harry Potter one! I'd been playing Pokemon Go for a while by then so I kind of got the point, but it just didn't work for me. But I've gone off Pokemon Go now and solely play Pikmin. The good thing is that you can't really do it from home - today I need to plant 2000 flowers, and if I stay home I could plant maybe 20 because it only does it while you're moving! So I'll have to go for a walk later.
I use Lose It for tracking calories, and one of their plans is called "Flexible Weekender". You get to pick 2 days a week where you get a higher calorie limit, and then the rest is slightly lower to compensate. They also have a tracker on the main page that shows how your weekly calories are doing compare to your target. So the other week I wasn't on track all week but I was still 222 calories under budget. I find this really helpful because you can see that one bad day really doesn't ruin everything!
