oh god its too late {whispers ashamedly} iate them. all of them. and didnt have any lunch

i tried talking to brother but he is so pig headed and full of himself he cant believe i am speakinga any truth. i have never known anyone actually to be as egocentric as he is. there is no point going on at him because he will never actually listen and take in what i say and he will remember forever and hold a grudge and i cant be doing with that. bit of background, he and i are both adopted but to different families. only found each other 2 and a half yrs ago so its not quite the same as one you have fought with since you were little lol!

discoverlife · 15/02/2008 18:12

Don't try so hard with your brother Bel, if he was an acquaintence you would have nothing else to do with him. I came to the conclusion about 20 years ago, that I didn't have to like all my family and by not initiating contact I was doing them and me some good.
Just because he is family that you have not know for a long time does not mean that you are automatically going to like or love each other. My DH was also adopted out when a baby and only just found his sister. There is no real love there as such, she is just another person he knows and has a conection with, the same as his internet buddies.

belcantavinissima · 15/02/2008 18:43

the thing is we do get on really well and there is def love there iyswim! and we are actually very simialr in many many ways (unlike our other brother who we have met recently). its just we have had a falling out over one thing. everyone falls out dont they??? its just because i havent grown up with him i am unsure where the boundaries are insomuchas what i can and cant say to him and how he will react (badly, evidently!). he gets on better with me than with the brother he grew up with (his adoptive parents birth son) and we often socialise together. in fact when we met we found out we went to schhool opp each other and had mutual friends so our lives have literally run parallel and occasionally intertwined!

Katy, you've been so good! i wish I was as well

Jahan · 15/02/2008 19:57

hi all.
I've been quite good yesterday and today but dh has just gone off to pick up some pizza express pizzas and cheesecake! yum.
I am going to the gym tomorrow so will try to repent there

Katy - thats good news about your rent. You must feel a lot more relaxed now!

Well done Fedda for not going to the coffee shop!

don't worry about the chocs too much Bel. Try to be good for the weekend. To put on 1lb of fat, you need to consume about 3500 extra cals.
Hope you sort things out things with your brother. I guess you just have to treat him like you would treat your friend.

discoverlife · 15/02/2008 19:59

Oh God nooooo, only 3500 extra. Thats the American hard gums out the window then, plus the bottle of wine last night, and the fairy cakes DS2 made yeaterday (with icing on top).

MrsFish · 15/02/2008 20:31

Still feel crap but have eaten normally today.

B = Ds's shreddies and milk approx 1oz
L = Cottage pie and a few oven chips
S = ham roll with flora light, 3 biscuits
D = chicken with a sweet and spicy salsa, 3 small new potatoes, mini carrots and asparagus

I can't comfortably get into a pair of 14 trousers/jeans but I have bought a size 14 dress for the summer which fits perfectly

discoverlife · 15/02/2008 20:47

I have just burnt two pizza's to black pancakes because of MN and the Rayburn. A major problem with Rayburns/Aga's is that they are air tight, the smell of cooking/burning does not escape into the room and warn you of an imminent disaster. Therefore even after 7 months here, I still have cremated offerings to scrape off the tins.

MrsFish · 15/02/2008 20:49

That's saved you a bunch of calories then

I love my Aga, but I do have to put an alarm on every time I put something in, the amount of times I have burnt stuff to a crisp just isn't funny

discoverlife · 15/02/2008 21:00

The worst was the pork crackling I left in for 2 days. When I finally got it out, because I couldn't fit the other tin in , it STANK. It was awful, I had to run out the door with the tin and leave it outside for a week in the rain to fumigate it.

fedda · 15/02/2008 21:15

Poor you! What are you going to eat now?

discoverlife · 15/02/2008 21:23

Well i got the emergency rations out. Which is half a pound of sliced roast beef, threw it (frozen) into a frying panwith some beef stock (cube) and water, left it to simmer and defrost. Then a quick peel of potato's and carrots for mash etc. last minute I threw some frozen pea's into the boiling carrots and some cornflour into the frying pan, voila, Roast Beef Dinner with YUMMY gravy. 25mins max.

discoverlife · 15/02/2008 21:26

Burp, just finished eating.

pollywobbledoodle · 15/02/2008 22:16

fedda · 15/02/2008 23:13

Tomorrow is another day.

LoveMyGirls · 16/02/2008 11:28

Hi everyone,

I'm very disapointed in myself. I stayed the same at weigh in. I'm really going to try a lot harder this week.

Dp said we'll go swimming tomorrow but dd2 has a cold and temp so we'll have to see how she is, might try and get someone to stay with her while we go for an hour or two. I'm going to walk as much as possible and definitely not having anything I shouldnt!

My aim for next weigh in is to get at least 3lbs off ideally 3 and a half so that I can say i've lost 3 quarters of a stone in a month

The ww lady said it could be because i retain water after my period (but then i've started af again today after having a light af for about 10 days!!! ) so god knows what is going on!

I know I haven't been good this week so only have myself to blame really, chinese sat night, cheesecake and champers for valentines plus our anniversary last week at least now all that is out of the way i can get down to some serious "being good"!!! btw asda's good for you hot choc is nice and is only 32 cals per cup and imo is as nice as options.

I'm going to go food shopping and stock up on good things, i even ran out of semi skimmed milk this morning and ended up having all skimmed milk in my porridge which sounds good BUT it was so watery i didn't enjoy it so need to get milk!

Anyone got any evening meal idea's for me please? I'm quite a plain eater, love my roast dinners!

The plan is to have ...
B - porridge with honey
L - crackerbread with philli, cucumber and tomato
D - no idea! (i have been having quite a few ww ready meals lately but I don't like having to seperate myself from family meals)

Might do spag bol, shep pie, roast chicken dinner, chicken casserole, fish, low fat chips and peas..........

bel hope you make things up with your brother but try and wait for him to come to you, don't be the one to always apolgise you can't always be wrong.

L - eating out - big portion tai stir fry noodles with sprout beans, read and green peppers, peanuts, soy sauce and chicken, jasmin tea
Tangerine, apple
D will be can of sardines with 1 toast with butter, toms, cucumber and grapes salad and coffee with 2 sugars and a cereal bar

katylessbumpy · 16/02/2008 15:18

mmmm your lunch sounds good fedda.where did you go?

OP posts:
fedda · 16/02/2008 15:23

I'm bad at names, Katy but it's one of popular dishes in any Tai place. They put so many nuts, peppers and sprouts that I could just have it as a vegeterian dish. I'm afraid the portion was huge. Makes you wonder how come their women are so slim. They always offer deep fried stuff as well. May be they know when to stop. I knew I was full but it was soooo tasty that I carried on eating even when it was cold. Stupid old me!

katylessbumpy · 16/02/2008 15:37

fedda, why do you always put yourself down?

OP posts:
LoveMyGirls · 16/02/2008 15:37

So far so good today just about to go food shopping though!
