Cambridge Diet (aka 1:1) - Autumn 2022

ThierryEnnui · 01/11/2022 15:00

Can't see an active thread for the Cambridge Diet at the moment, so thought I'd start one!

Been on plan (Step 1B) since end of September and am approaching the 2 stone lost mark. I did Cambridge almost a decade ago and it was a very different diet (product wise) back then. I much prefer the variety and the general flavours they have now and am finding it weirdly easy to stick to.

Anyone else currently following the diet?

@CreepingCrone Three stones is brilliant - how long did it take ?
Ack, hope there's a bit of 'movement' and you're not so bunged, it's honestly the only downside of doing this for me - I'm not hungry, I love the energy 'buzz' (which has kicked in today !), I'll just keep an eye on it and remember to add the fibre.
You have a good weekend too.

CreepingCrone · 04/03/2023 05:18

I started mid-Nov. It's slow going but considering I've had Christmas, Covid, and my 50th during that time, I'm pretty chuffed. I started on 1b, then switched to step 2 after anout 6 weeks. Will probably move to step 3 after another stone. I should have said 3lbs to go until I'm just overweight! 🤦🏻‍♀️

JoanCandy · 08/03/2023 23:39

Well, I’m a week and a half in, Step 1A (three products 600 cals and a TON of water !) 8lbs down 💥
It’s been OK, have struggled a bit this week as it’s so cold, I just want to stay at home and stuff biscuits in my face ! But I haven’t, go me 🙌
Increased my water intake too which has made it a bit easier.

CreepingCrone · 13/03/2023 21:58

Another week is whizzing by. How is everyone doing?
After dodging social engagements to avoid explaining why I wasn't eating and drinking, I met friends for lunch two days in a row! Felt a bit apprehensive, but knew we were going to Pho. The menu was amazing! Summer rice rolls and then a rice bowl with cauli rice. Couldn't believe how easy it was to choose good veggie options. Calories in the menu helped. Really enjoyed it and didn't feel like the odd one out at all 😁 Went for Thai the next day, but it was too greasy for me tbh. I'm away all week so no weigh in. I did a cheeky little wrigh at home before I left for the week, and I'm definitely creeping towards 3.5 stone off. Just on the cusp of the next stone bracket, and also heading in 'just overweight' rather than obese. Feeling pretty damn chipper 😊

CreepingCrone · 23/03/2023 11:23

Just back from holiday. Have to say, I did stray from the path. I started off really well, with lots of veg and protein, then hit the fruit. And the shandy. I also discovered plain choc rice cakes which was my downfall! It's not even like I was bingeing on icecream and crisps! My ibs flared up and I felt rubbish. Straight back on plan, had a day of headaches and its taking a while for my ibs to settle down. Am feeling better and am currently wearing a pair of size 14 (ffs!!!) Jeans!!! They are a little snug but I'm not taking them off! Am starting to think seriously about moving from step 2 to 3, as I really need to work on setting boundaries and practising a more calm and collected approach to normal food. Hope you are all having a good week

Fluffypinkcushion · 23/03/2023 20:26

Hi @CreepingCrone, you are doing so so well, especially to be even a little on an while on holiday! What an achievement! I managed to loose this thread for a while but its suddenly come back to my emails, yay! I am still here, lost over 20kg now and edging towards the 3.5stone mark. Been a bit up and down for a couple of weeks, lots of birthdays and social meals out but have got back on track really well this week. Im now comfortably into my size 14 jeans and 14-16tops from 18-20s (which, you are doing really qell, you de were frankly on the tight side mostly too) so im thrilled. I need to keep focused now, because i find it harder now im feeling more comfortable in myself as the desperation to loose it has gone. Id really like another 2.5 to 3 stone really but i think that will be hard to achieve!

Fluffypinkcushion · 23/03/2023 20:30

@ThierryEnnui @Holidayhomehell @Mostlygrumpy
Are any of you still around?? How are you all??

CreepingCrone · 23/03/2023 20:37

Thanks, @fluffypinkcushion. Isnt it weird being able to wear "normal" sized clothes 😊 One thing I have noticed is how different sizing is from different shops. I always knew this, but when stuff was tight or didn't fit, I blamed myself and was very negative to myself. Now I can be a bit more objective, I just think "Well, I won't buy anything from that shop!". How strange it's taken this to be my head straight about it. I am pretty damn chuffed that today my BMI was 29.9, so no longer obese. (I know BMI is an imperfect measure). Weight loss has been about health and being her for my girls, so I'm aiming for a BMI of 25. Considering my BMI was 38 when I started in Nov, I'm thrilled to be merely overweight 😁😁😁

Holidayhomehell · 25/03/2023 17:31

Hello!

I am still here - albeit I took almost 3 months off plan and gained a stone.

Huge well done to those of you still found strong!

I returned to my consultant on Tuesday and am back on step 1b.

I was hoping someone could give some advice - I have my period and am starving. I have had two products today.

I would like to cook an evening meal that will keep me on plan.

what am I allowed that won’t ruin my weight loss? Steak and salad?

Holidayhomehell · 25/03/2023 17:31

I dream of being in size 14! You are motivating me to keep going

CreepingCrone · 25/03/2023 20:53

@holidayhomefromhell I've had a wobble tonight. Not feeling my best. Really wanted a takeaway. Instead I've done airfryer chips and a veggie burger. Tomorrow is another day 🙈🫣

Holidayhomehell · 25/03/2023 23:06

@CreepingCrone it could nave been significantly worse!

I had a look at Keto recipes and recipes on 1:1 page and ended up making steak and salad with an egg. It was lovely and just what I needed.

tomorrow will be back to stage 1b.

but I think I will speak to my consultant about me having an occasional meal and factoring this in.

CreepingCrone · 25/03/2023 23:18

@Holidayhomehell that sounds like a good plan. I'd rather keep going either the odd slip, than throe in the towel and end up even heavier than I started 🖤

CreepingCrone · 29/03/2023 20:35

Hope everyone is having a good week. I've had an up and down week with my head all over the place. I've moved onto Step 3 because I think I just miss food and was feeling very tired and hungry (week 18). Yesterday was still not the best, but today my head is back on it. I feel like I've eaten two huge & delicious meals, am feeling much better physically and mentally. I've still got another 2 stone to lose. My consultant lost all her weight on Step 3 & 4 so I'm not too worried

Whattheactualfucking · 24/04/2023 12:07

Hello, is anyone still here? I’m looking to start and would really appreciate hearing how you’re all doing

CreepingCrone · 24/04/2023 15:27

I'm still here! 👋🏼
I'm on Step 3 now and finding my way. 3.5 stone lost, I'm actually wearing size 14 jeans which feels weird and surreal. The oomph I had on Step 1b for the first 4 months has changed. This feels like Part 2, as I need to navigate food and meeting friends, going out etc. I need to seriously get going with some exercise and walks, I'm just waiting for my brain to catch up tbh. I'm doing a festival this weekend, so bought a snazzy rechargeable blender for my shakes. Will be taking cauli rice and Step 3 staples to have over the weekend 🤞🏼 Would love to know how everyone is doing 😊

Mollymoo1203 · 05/06/2023 20:42

Has anyone done cambride step 2 bit with skimmed milk in tea and coffee and still been successful please x

CreepingCrone · 06/06/2023 07:55

I didn't for 1b or Step 2. Now I'm on Step 3 my losses have slowed right down anyway, but I do have a splash of oatmilk in my tea.

Fluffypinkcushion · 06/06/2023 11:42

I never have milk in tea normally (never have, not a diet thing just dont like it!) so cant comment im afraid.
Hows everyone doing? I lost 3.5 stone, and then maintained that for last couple of months as have had a couple of holidays, a close family members death and then funeral and a family wedding so all been a bit mental. Happy to have maintained though all the ups and downs! Ive just finally got over my hangover from said wedding so starting again today for another stone or 2. Feel its harder now as i feel so much better now in myself so have lost the urgency to loose it as quick!

CreepingCrone · 07/06/2023 21:16

I'm in the same boat, @fluffypinkcushion. Life's been busy and could placated, so I've maintained or just lost a few pounds. Down 3st9lbs, just under 2 to go (or 1st, I can't decide). I am actually incredibly pleased, because I don't think I've maintained by weight in about 20 years! So this plateau is a major NSV. Another NSV, I wanted to try wild swimming. I'm scared of fish, beasties and bugs in the water, and never keen to wear a cossie. But I did it! Swam twice in one day in a lake with friends. The second time was under the Full Strawberry Moon. Feel so empowered, I've bought a new cossie and a wetsuit! And booked 2 more Swims in the next month. Next on my lost, Stand up paddle boarding 🤷🏻‍♀️😁😁😁🏊‍♀️🌙

willowrose30 · 08/06/2023 07:02

Morning all.
I'm day 4 today. Will have my first weigh in on Monday. Great to hear how your all doing. Giving me some motivation through the fog!!

Xalapa · 22/08/2023 08:58

Good morning everyone,

I am on day two today . Really liking all your success stories. It is Definitely good motivation for me to keep going . Trying out some of the foods as I go. Not too bad so far so good. I have 3 stone 10lb to lose.

Xalapa · 22/08/2023 08:59

Are you still on this diet? How did your first weight in go? Best of luck with it

ZeroFucksGivenToday · 25/08/2023 18:59

Hey @Xalapa I'm just over two weeks into 1:1 right now!
smashing it so far as I started just as my daughter went abroad with her dad for two weeks. She came back yesterday and I'm now cooking for her and trying to keep me on track. Argh!

Xalapa · 25/08/2023 19:27

Hi @ZeroFucksGivenToday good to hear someone is doing this diet same time as me. How is your weight loss? I’m doing well but have to say I’m hungry since I went back to work. Probably because I’m up early and day is longer. How are you finding it? Are you hungry?
yes I cook for hubby and 3 children so it can be hard when your preparing meals. Really hope I lose and that it keeps me motivated
