Cambridge Diet (aka 1:1) - Autumn 2022

Can't see an active thread for the Cambridge Diet at the moment, so thought I'd start one!

Been on plan (Step 1B) since end of September and am approaching the 2 stone lost mark. I did Cambridge almost a decade ago and it was a very different diet (product wise) back then. I much prefer the variety and the general flavours they have now and am finding it weirdly easy to stick to.

Anyone else currently following the diet?

Thanks @CreepingCrone - next few weeks will be a challenge due to days out, nights out and family events for Christmas. So I don’t expect to lose anything at all.

Fluffypinkcushion · 30/11/2022 15:13

Hi all! Im still here. Been a manic week with 3 poorly children and a poorly husband. Ive lost 20lb in 4 weeks now so happy with that. Moved onto step 2 now and finding it easier. Tend to have a smoothie or yogurt drink for breakfast, a soup type thing for lunch, eat a snall smela with family at tea time then have bites or a bar with a cuppa evening time. Ive not been hungry at all this last week and havent "craved" things as much. The second week was by far the hardest for me. I was hungry and grumpy most of the week but has settled down now!
Like others have said, hoping to stay on it as much as i can until christmas, but have some meals out and 2 childrens birthdays to negotiate too!

CreepingCrone · 30/11/2022 19:06

@fluffypinkcushion you've done so well, especially in a house of lurgy 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

CreepingCrone · 03/12/2022 18:17

Well, I had a weird wk 3 weigh-in. I've been pretty bunged up! Stuck to plan 100% but had a maintain this week. A little dispiriting. But went out today with my friends who shared a festive picnic and I had a shake and herbal tea. All I can do is keep up thr hard work and hope it pays off next week instead 🤞🏼

Fluffypinkcushion · 04/12/2022 14:04

@CreepingCrone you might have a big loss next week, fingers crossed! Have a look at peppermint and liquorice tea to help the bloating and bunging!

CreepingCrone · 08/12/2022 10:40

Morning all! How are we this week? Ive been in Newcastle for my work Xmas do. Discussed it at length with my consultant who told me to eat carbs and conventional food if there was any alcohol involved. Had salmon, shunned the en croute pastry and potato, and scoffed am extra portion of Brussels. Really enjoyed it, one delish decaf chocolate orange espresso martini that I savoured. Now back on it today. Feeling steady and ok, which is a relief because I was scared this might break my 121 mojo 😊

Holidayhomehell · 08/12/2022 18:48

Hello @CreepingCrone. I weighed on Sunday this week, so a day early. I couldn’t manage on Monday due to work. Very pleased to say I lost 5.5lbs, taking me to a total of 27.5lbs in 5 weeks.

I had a day out on Sunday and ate out for all three meals.

breakfast was a skinny mocha and pain au chocolate, lunch was a pesto pastry with couscous salad and dinner was Wagamamas. Shared a dessert and also had another Christmas coffee. So calorific!

However, straight back on plan

My period is due this week and I am crampy and bloated. I weighed this morning on my own scales and I am 4 lbs heavier 😔 maybe just need to accept it and move on.

I formally weigh in this Saturday morning.

CreepingCrone · 11/12/2022 15:39

How fabulous @holidayhomefromhell! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 I haven't had as dramatic a loss but was thrilled to have lost just over a stone in 4 weeks. Jad an incredibly stressful day on Friday with my OH having a hospital op, I did eat a takeaway. Was cross with myself and threw half of it in the bin and have been strictly back on plan ever since. The only person I cheat is myself. As I tend to throw the baby out with the bath water, I woudl say learning to cope with hiccups is more helpful to me than trying to avoid them at all costs. Back to it and just on the cusp of going down another big number on the scales next week 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼

Fluffypinkcushion · 13/12/2022 07:52

Hows everyone doing? Ive had a terrible weekend with 3 parties and lots of rubbish food! But back on it monday, hoping to pull off a maintain if i can!

CreepingCrone · 13/12/2022 13:11

The weekend's over, @fluffypinkcushiin. Well done for getting back to it. This has got to be the most tricky time of the year to be in plan. January will be a breeze by comparison!

CreepingCrone · 13/12/2022 13:21

I'm doing OK, had a bit of a "lively tummy" but plodding along. Am thinking of having a couple of days on Step 2 as I miss proper food. Am planning a veg laden Christmas day, with Quorn sausages. Sounds like a feast right now!

CreepingCrone · 14/12/2022 19:01

Well, I treated myself to a step 2 meal and it was AMAZING!!! Vegan chicken, garlic, chilli, beansprouts and a small portion of konjac noodles. Pan fried with a spray of Frylight. It was a proper meal and absolutely delish! It felt like I had a Thai takeaway 😁😁😁 my mouth is still scorchio 🌶🌶🌶

Fluffypinkcushion · 14/12/2022 22:10

I weighed in today and lost 4lbs so 25 altogether now! @CreepingCrone I have lost more since doing step 2 and 3, think my body reacts better to a bit of "proper" food. The stirfry sounds good, might have thst tomorrow!

CreepingCrone · 24/12/2022 18:04

Hey everyone, hope you are all doing OK. I currently have Covid so I am looking forward to feeling better and being able to eat stomach food in a few days. Hope you all have a good one 🎄

Fluffypinkcushion · 25/12/2022 09:28

I posted yesterday but it hasnt appeared. Hope you are feeling better @CreepingCrone, covid makes you feel crap.
Hope you all have a lovely Christmas!

Oxterguff · 01/01/2023 19:58

Hi everyone, hope it’s ok for me to join. I’m about to start tomorrow. Feeling a bit nervous. 😬

CreepingCrone · 02/01/2023 12:04

Welcome, @oxterguff. How exciting. You've done the hard bit by decising to get started👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Oxterguff · 03/01/2023 21:53

Thanks, day 2 and not feeling as hungry as I thought I would.

CreepingCrone · 05/01/2023 13:36

Week 7 weigh-in today, after 3 weeks off due to Covid & Christmas. 6.5lbs off. So close to 2 stone, I will get there soon 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼

Holidayhomehell · 06/01/2023 23:23

Hi everyone, welcome @Oxterguff and well done @CreepingCrone!

I gained weight over Xmas and new year - was off plan for almost 3 weeks and gained 10lbs.

Back on plan now.

Fluffypinkcushion · 07/01/2023 20:16

I gained over christmas too but back on it now (only since monday tho). Im starving today, not been too bad until now but just cant get on top of it today 🤐can literally hear my tummy rumbling as im sat here doing a bit of work!

Holidayhomehell · 07/01/2023 22:39

@Fluffypinkcushion i ate an extra product to stop me from going off the rails. I’ve done that a few times in the past on the advice of my consultant.

Ive also been on plan since Monday. Weigh in is on Monday morning. I feel starving!

mioz · 08/01/2023 18:50

Hi! Can I join this thread? Day 4 for me and strangely really enjoying it. Had a sneaky weigh this morning which shows 6lb down 😱. Really loving reading your successes already, keeps me motivated!

Holidayhomehell · 08/01/2023 20:21

Welcome @mioz - glad you are finding it ok!

it’s hard but the results are worth it I feel. I lost over 2 stone in 7 weeks at the end of the year. Took 3 weeks off though and gained some back.

Back on plan and get weighed tomorrow morning 😊

Holidayhomehell · 09/01/2023 22:17

Weigh in this morning and lost 6lbs. Pleased with that.
