It would appear that all I do is stuff my face with crap, lots of crap.

I'm going to try and sort myself out, starting tomorrow.

I'm scared, I'm useless at dieting but it's getting serious. I'm so unhappy, I caught sight of myself in the window walking past Costa coffee today. It was grim.

Anyone want to join me?

Weigh day tomorrow.

@Runnerduck34 don’t be depressed! It likely is just three sets of scales so I’d award yourself the 2kg loss ( which is loads- almost 5lbs) and power on. Use the new scale reading as the baseline for this week.

My whizzy new scales (and new tape measure) might not let me down but my willpower might if by next week they still say same🤣

My first goal is to get the jeans I bought to fit Grin
They do up and are so nice (also only £9!) so I'm keeping them. But I reckon I need to lost another 7lbs for them to be comfortable

We went for a Chinese last night after not eating anything all day. Didn’t have a lot but was still 2lbs up this morning - always happens whenever I have a takeaway. Interesting to see if it goes down in the morning.

@PeloFondo ooo new jeans a size down that's a great measure. New jeans for Christmas wouldn't that be good? I've lost a few pounds and I swear I can see it on my face, can feel my rings are looser and I'm able to twirl them again...not struggling with my bra clip as much. Small wins!

I need new jeans, new everything really . I've hardly bought any clothes since getting fat. I can't wait to lose a bit of weight so I can get some new things.

I did buy a new fluffy super soft dressing gown yesterday. It's so snug and comfy.

@Sodullincomparison it's the salt- takeaways always bloat me up but I deflate over a couple of days if I drink enough water. Pizza is the worst- always wake up in the night crazy thirsty.

I had the weirdest craving today- coleslaw mix- the bags of ready shredded cabbage and carrot that you add your own dressing to. I literally bought and ate an entire bag (with a drizzle of pizza express dressing). I must be missing some nutrient in cabbage or something.

How’s everyone getting on? I’m in full on self destruct mode, have been since yesterday, mainly because I cannot get into any of my colder clothes and I feel so bloody awful about myself, I don’t want to buy bigger yet again, but also can’t breathe in last years jeans, so I just eat and cry.. why can’t I lose my appetite? Why do I eat my feelings!
so needed to come on here and say I need to stop and get my self back to it.

Don't be too hard on yourself.
Emotional eating is what I do too. For me eating rarely has anything to do with hunger!
I've used this thread to vent too and help stay on track, I love its title , sums me up perfectly!
I've also struggled today. I'm susceptible to heartburn and past couple of days it's been awful and ive had trouble sleeping for 2 nights now . Omeprazole not really making a difference, I googled it and apparently if you are reducing food/fasting it can also give you heartburn.
So this morning I didnt fast to 11, raided fridge , ate mini pork pie with pickle ( oops!) ,but heartburn disappeared, pork pie worked a lot better than omeprazole!!
Tonight I'm going to cinema and normally I have full fat coke and share bag of chocolate buttons ( not shared obviously!) I could have popcorn instead but really what is the point of popcorn?!
So I may treat myself write today off and start again tomorrow but I will be back on wagon tomorrow even if I have to give up fasting for 16 hours part. I just thought it might be an easier way to lose weight without it taking up too much headspace but can't put up with this heartburn

I'm feeling really sorry for myself. I've had a traumatic day.

I cracked my back tooth in half eating walnuts this morning. I went to the dentist and had no choice but to have it extracted. I'm feeling delicate and bloody starving as I don't want to eat.

In the doldrums here, scales not moving, still weaning off the last few sweet things. I'm managing not to dive into giant bags/tubs of calories, but the evenings seem to drag on and on. Hadn't realised how much sugar high followed by carb coma made the hours fly by!

Just been pondering and made a mini decision. I base my meals on vegetables, with some beans/fish/meat and fats. But prices going up means I've been cutting out the fish/meat, and bulking out meals with wholemeal pasta, brown rice, potatoes instead. Which doesn't help with sugar cravings, and will turn into monster carb cravings in winter. So I've decided that savings on chocolate, biscuits, ice-cream etc will be spent on adding back in the protein, at least for a while, so I'm not skimping as the weather cools. At least until the money runs out for a while.

I haven't had the best week either food wise, am due on and it seems to send my food cravings up the wall (even worse than usual). One positive this week though - I just started listening to Atomic Habits by James Clear which is about habits and positive behaviour change, think it'll be interesting.

It’s given me a smidgen of comfort to know others are struggling this week - I thought it was just me. I find it so difficult the first month or so, until I get into a rhythm.

@Runnerduck34 i have found that with fasting too! It does give me more energy, but my gastric reflux disease does not like it, and my daily Lansoprazole doesn’t work as well, definitely food helps x

Yip, there's a loooot of evening after the food! We were all tucked up and lights off by half ten last night. Even Huw Edwards loses his sparkle when not accompanied by tiny nibbles.

I did have a couple of rolls of Parma Violets though, left over from DSs birthday stash. Nobody else likes them and they pack a decent flavour/ chewing punch for 30 calories a roll.

My scales have fixed themselves and are now very slowly moving down, thank god.
