Fuck I'm so lardy, I've hit peak fatness and need to sort it out.

It would appear that all I do is stuff my face with crap, lots of crap.

I'm going to try and sort myself out, starting tomorrow.

I'm scared, I'm useless at dieting but it's getting serious. I'm so unhappy, I caught sight of myself in the window walking past Costa coffee today. It was grim.

Anyone want to join me?

Weigh day tomorrow.

I haven't lost today but I weigh daily and the trend is down still. Slipped a bit over the weekend with fasting, I find it much easier when I'm working as my breaks/lunch are allocated!

I've shifted 2 pounds and im delighted. This thread is working! I think it's the title..

Start: 15st 11lbs
Current: 15st 9lbs

What went well this week - stopped eating at 7pm

What would make it better - finding a better "comfort" than binging wine and crisps on a Friday night.

Don't think I've shifted anything! Doesn't help I've been eating guilt stuff like:

tub of guacamole with cheese biscuits/crackers (M&S)
Sainsburys cheese savoury things - managed to eat almost the entire bag over the course of this weekend.

I bought some vegan dark chocolate with caramel in it yesterday (not because it was vegan) and it's disgusting. Might try to add it to porridge with fruit.

I did cut half the boiled potato I had for dinner last night and save it for lunch today.

Breakfast: granola with blueberries and Skyr yogurt.

Can't believe just weighed this morning and have gained three lbs. I could actually cry...

Another one saying don't worry about no losses.

For what it's worth - the times when I've lost almost a stone have been steadily, over the course of e.g. 2-3 or more months and because it's gradual I haven't noticed it as much but it's definitely there.

Try to have e.g. water/fruit/herbal tea if you feel hungry or even those low calorie latte/hot chocolates.

Another thing which I find helps is apple and cheese (small bit of cheese) and also dates with peanut butter in - one date. Low sugar jelly, I make it myself and put in pots.

I also find that things like jacket potatoes with nice fillings, home made egg mayo with cress sandwiches etc - they keep me filled up better than some lower calorie options. And if for lunch/dinner have fruit if you fancy it.

Umbrellabee · 10/10/2022 09:36

Well done to everyone! I was 79.6kg and 79.3kg this morning so barely anything but I know I’ve been snacking a lot less and thinking more carefully about what I am eating so it’s still a positive start. I’m going to get a bit more exercise in this week and hope for a loss next week!

LadyHester · 10/10/2022 09:44

Morning all! I’m down half a pound on last Monday, which given some fairly challenging days I’m quite happy with.

RunningKatie · 10/10/2022 09:45

Also, according to my fitbit my resting heart rate has dropped a bit. Since I've gained weight I'd noticed it had crept up. I'm taking all these things as positive even if the scales don't always reflect the effort in.

Runnerduck34 · 10/10/2022 09:45

I think(?) I have lost between 1-2kgs
Ive decided I need to invest in scales have a very ancient set 25 year plus old.
GP weighed me at 81kg a couple of weeks ago.- had no idea what 81kg was in stones and Ibs but I knew it wasn't good!!
Anyway couldn't bare to weigh myself last Monday. So went with weight as at GPs.
Weighed myself with scales on carpet yesterday and there was no change, was gutted.
Weighed this morning looking for a miracle- no change.
Looked at advice @hairyknobsandbroomsticks and moved scales from bedroom carpet to lino bathroom floor and it looks like I've lost between 1-2 kg , needle is in slightly different place each time but either way less than at GPs.
I've decided to tackle my aversion to scales and buy a new set so I can get a scarily accurate weight.
Also wondering if I can put my scales on another different surface and lose even more weight🤣
Anyway this has cheered me up as I have tried hard this week. Trying to limit window of eating and cutting down.

HairyKnobsAndBroomsticks · 10/10/2022 09:59

Well done everyone for sticking to the plan.

I lost 7.25 pounds. Obviously it's just bulk weight from my stomach and not actual fat. I have been ridiculously good this week but i did have two days of hardly eating anything. The day I went to the dentist I only had a bowl of soup as my gum was sore from the jab and yesterday I only ate half an apple as I've cold a virus and have lost my appetite.

I also stopped my 5 cans of Diet Coke a day which was causing me to be very bloated.

Wow, 7lbs is amazing, even if it's not all fat it will help you to stay motivated.
Well done to everyone else who has lost weight this week.
My average weight last week was 12 st 2, I weighed 12st 1 today so will keep weighing daily (if I remember) and hopefully the average will be lower at the end of the week.
I think I'm happy enough at around 1400 calories per day, any less and I will feel deprived. Haven't quite kicked the snacking habit yet but am determined to keep going.

mittenskitten · 10/10/2022 11:01

Wow loving all the positive posts this morning.

I've weighed in and am now 12st exactly so 2lb down.

Well done everyone for sticking with it

illiterato · 10/10/2022 11:46

Lurker signing in to weigh. I started 10 days ago at 73.5kg and now I’m 72kg so roughly 3lbs off in old money. Happy with that. I need to get to between 65-67kg depending on muscle tone. So realistically get to 65kg and then add 2kg of muscle. Also desperate to get to 70kg so can start running again as that will make it so much easier. I can technically run now but my knees don’t love it. I used to be such a good runner but my 2.5 year pandemic pity party has taken its toll.

what went well: haven’t had a drink in 2 weeks- really trying to cut down and am doing Sober October.

what could be better: quality of diet- yesterday I think I ate all my calories in coffee, hula hoops and chocolate. Making a spicy fish stew that I can eat for meals this week- don’t mind eating the same thing a lot.

MorrisZapp · 10/10/2022 12:59

My scales are crap but I'm pretty sure I'm 10 stone 7, which is exactly what I weighed three weeks ago. I have lost not one ounce despite doing all the things that used to work a treat, for three weeks solid. Fuck you, menopause.

I'm 5 foot 3 and in the overweight category. I need to be ten stone. I've signed up to a virtual walking challenge, by Christmas I'll have walked/danced the North Coast 500 😂 I need to average five miles a day. But not to tescos to buy minstrels.

PaulineFowlersCardigan · 10/10/2022 12:59

Everyone has done so well, such a positive start! We’ll done @HairyKnobsAndBroomsticks that is a huge loss no matter what it is!
I’m going to start weighing in a Monday too, such a disaster of a wknd, I’m back to square one. I think knowing I have to weigh on Monday will stop me messing it all up at wknds..

Runnerduck34 · 10/10/2022 13:23

Well done @HairyKnobsAndBroomsticks that's inspiring.
This thread has certainly helped keep me focused.
Well done to everyone whose stuck with it no matter what the loss is ( or isnt) hope we all get the results we need soon. If I hadn't moved my scales off carpet to bathroom floor I would have been pretty despondent not to lose anything. I've ordered new scales now so no shirking!

I like the idea of this walking challenge, do you have a link or am I too late to join?

Well done on all the weight losses everyone, one week behind us :)

My diet is managed well but I need to increase my exercise, particularly because I have diabetes and need to get my waistline as low as possible, (all my fat sits there which is a danger for cardiac issues) and I have terribly high cholesterols (hereditary type but still want to get it as low as I can before they put me on statins)

Ifihadapoundd · 10/10/2022 14:57

Weighed in this morning, lost 1lb. Little deflating as I have been so good this week, put I am due on my period any day so hoping that has something to do with it 🤞🤦‍♀️

dontgosummer · 10/10/2022 16:53

Well done everyone ! What a great start , thanks all for keeping the thread going and sharing the tips and support ❤️

Stravaig · 10/10/2022 17:05

Down 1.1 kg since last Mon / 2.8 kg since start (11 days ago).

Two coffees this morning :(

Supermarket shop this morning, and I could hear a horrified chorus of 'OW MUCH!!! hurrying me past the chocolate aisle.

HairyKnobsAndBroomsticks · 10/10/2022 18:31

Congratulations on the 7.5 pounds @HairyKnobsAndBroomsticks - especially when you were unwell. A wee bonus.

HairyKnobsAndBroomsticks · 10/10/2022 19:44

Thanks @AnnieHoooo I have just scoffed four crumpets dripping in proper butter with morello cherry jam, my appetite is back. The butter was dripping off my chin. 🤣

Wow. Some great progress here. Well done. To our host - 7lb - that is some going.

I went from 15st 11 to 15st 9 so two pounds off.

There is constantly food in my work and people bring treats to my office so that all stopped today. Large bottle of water on the go as well - still Diet Coke free.

RedAutumn · 10/10/2022 20:23

Well done everyone. This thread is keeping me motivated.

WalkingOnSonshine · 11/10/2022 08:37

I’m nearly 2kg down as of this morning. Would have been more if not for the 3 course meal & bottle of wine at the weekend - although it was only our second night out since DS was born so it was necessary!

Lots of salad/veg and smaller portions seem to be the way forward.
