Fuck I'm so lardy, I've hit peak fatness and need to sort it out.

It would appear that all I do is stuff my face with crap, lots of crap.

I'm going to try and sort myself out, starting tomorrow.

I'm scared, I'm useless at dieting but it's getting serious. I'm so unhappy, I caught sight of myself in the window walking past Costa coffee today. It was grim.

Anyone want to join me?

Weigh day tomorrow.

@MaryGubbins don't be depressed, it’s been a hell of a couple of years, I’ve done exactly the same. But this seems such a lovely thread so we can do this x

RunningKatie · 09/10/2022 16:08

I weighed myself this morning. I've had no alcohol, no chocolate, no crisps, no fizzy drinks. And my weight was exactly the same as Monday.
I am so fed up. It had dropped earlier in the week, so I know it's ok but there was a real urge to go and bury my face in a bacon sarnie as I stood watching football matches this morning.

MaryGubbins · 09/10/2022 17:01

@PaulineFowlersCardigan
thanks. You are right.

I’ve been to gym (5k treadmill 400 cal) and bought some healthy shopping for next week. It’s just a hell of a cooking isn’t it. I’m mostly going to slow cooker it and make enough for lunch the next day.

firefly123 · 09/10/2022 17:20

Can't believe just weighed this morning and have gained three lbs. I could actually cry...

Sodullincomparison · 09/10/2022 17:38

Don’t cry just stay focused and keep going @firefly123

we all have those fluctuations and they can be the undoing of all your hard work.

my husband is currently making potato dauphinoise with butter, gruyere and double cream and tomorrow’s weigh in is keeping me from indulging. Thanks for the focus everyone.

Jenasaurus · 09/10/2022 18:12

Just dripping by to share todays lunch. I am not vegan but have heard good reviews about Richmonds Sage and Onion Sausages. They were not wrong, I had 3 with some tomatoes, onion and brocoli, which was 541 calories and 61 carbs, I had greek yoghurt and cherries for breakfast which was 396 calories and 28 carbs so have 259 calories and 40 carbs left, I will probably have soup and some cashew nuts if I am hungry later but may not eat anything else as this was very filling :)

Fuck I'm so lardy, I've hit peak fatness and need to sort it out.
HairyKnobsAndBroomsticks · 09/10/2022 18:26

Sorry that you feel like crying @firefly123. Just a thought, I once had my bathrooms scales repaired under the guarantee. I was told that for scales to be accurate they need to be stood on a hard floor and not moved at all. I had been storing mine behind a unit upright against the wall and dragging them out to weigh myself. Since I've not moved them they are pretty accurate. This may well be a scale issue so please don't be upset.

Can I join? I started dieting pre pandemic and thought I had 2 stone to lose. I’m another stone up now. I’d also now be happy just losing 2 stone (so goal a stone heavier than before).

Ive tried everything and stick to nothing, messed my metabolism up and I feel the last 3 years have been miserable due to dieting.

sorry, depressed myself reading that.

Are we twins ? 👋🏻 👋🏻👋🏻

Bless you, dont dry, weight fluctuates at times. My weight has gone up and down, despite sticking to 1200 calories a day, sometimes it can be what you are wearing, different time of day, and just an oddity, on the whole though it will go in the right direction, I understand how you are feeling though as my DD comforted me over a gain a coupe of weeks ago, but it will come off in the end xxx

I do this too, store mine upright by the washing machine in the gap by the wall, I had no idea this could cause issues as I just get them out when I weigh myself and hide them so I dont continually get on and off. Sounds like I need to find a permanent place to put them :)

HairyKnobsAndBroomsticks · 09/10/2022 19:33

@Jenasaurus yes it's difficult finding a place where the scales aren't going to be moved. Mine now live in the spare room which has a wooden floor. Weighing yourself on a carpeted floor adds loads of pounds.

Thank you all. Unfortunately I don't think it's the scales as keep them flat on the bathroom floor ( which is tiled). Tomorrow is another day. Glad to have this thread to keep me going

DolphinsAreEvil · 10/10/2022 07:06

So, I weighed this morning, started last Monday, lost 3lb, pleased with that, hoping to start excercising a bit this week. Definitely wouldn’t have got started without this thread 👍

RunningKatie · 10/10/2022 07:56

To be honest, no matter what I do with my scales - I'm still overweight and my clothes don't fit!
Anyway, weighed myself this morning, no change. So went for another wee, moved the scales to the left - 2lbs off! 😁
I hope that's true given the effort I've put in, I've got a long way to go yet but this is a good start.

dontgosummer · 10/10/2022 08:20

I've also stayed the same , have definitely been better than normal , would usually have chocolate every single day , have had not one piece .. so at least I've not gained 😩

ReginaPerrin · 10/10/2022 08:32

2lbs off. It’s a start.

OhMalakas · 10/10/2022 08:33

I've had a couple of slip ups this weeks but overall I've been pretty good with food. -3lb for me (7st 11lb still to go 😭)

eleanorwish · 10/10/2022 08:36

A false start for me this last week, due to lack of organisation on my part, I didn't meal plan properly and ended up with 2 takeaways.
I still managed to lose half a pound.
I've got more healthy meals planned this week so hoping to do better.
I now weigh 16st 2.5 lbs

AnnieHoooo · 10/10/2022 08:58

I've shifted 2 pounds and im delighted. This thread is working! I think it's the title..

Start: 15st 11lbs
Current: 15st 9lbs

What went well this week - stopped eating at 7pm

What would make it better - finding a better "comfort" than binging wine and crisps on a Friday night.

Jenasaurus · 10/10/2022 08:58

1 pound loss this week for me, so 11.9lbs, this is why I shouldnt weigh daily as I lost 2 pounds earlier this week but now its just a pound! To be fair I am happy with this as its 13 weeks into my diet so hopefully this is pound of pure fat lost :)

here is a pound of fat :)

Fuck I'm so lardy, I've hit peak fatness and need to sort it out.

If you want chocolate without the guilt and calories, go for the 85% choocolate, I ad a couple of squares to my porridge in the morning and top with frozen cherries, the combination is like eating a black Forrest gateau without the guilt :)

TabithaTittlemouse · 10/10/2022 09:02

I’m away at the moment so can’t weigh until Tuesday/Wednesday.

HowlsMovingCastleIsHere · 10/10/2022 09:08

I've weighed in and lost 5lbs. I'm pretty pleased as I've been away this weekend too. Hoping to match it this week 🤞

I usually just throw fruit in my porridge but I will definitely be trying this. Thanks

Woods52 · 10/10/2022 09:24

Last Monday: 16st 1lb
today: 15st 13lb

2lbs lost. Chuffed. Definitely thanks to this thread.

what went well:
averaged 12k steps a day
3 days wine free.
Healthy (ish) ready meals with veg/salad sides helped calorie counting. (Rather than huge portions of cooked from scratch stuff).

what went badly: Roast dinner and wine yesterday.
