Morning all. It's my weigh in tonight and I've just had a sneakie go on the scales at work which say 3lb off. That's the grand total of 5 stone 1lb since the 23rd of September.

MrsBigD · 12/01/2005 08:52

puff... as for breast reductions on the NHS... just claim constant backpain and strained shoulders due to 'heavy front loading'

That should do the trick.

woodpops... WELL DONE.

And there's me complaining that I've got 2stone to loose!

PuffTheMagicDragon · 12/01/2005 15:29

wow woodpops - you are an inspiration .

woodpops · 12/01/2005 15:33

We all are. But thank you anyway. I walk round with a permenant grin lately. I'm soooo chuffed with myself. Even doing the Davina workout most days!!!!

FineFigureFio · 12/01/2005 15:47

woodpops, well done

bran · 12/01/2005 21:51

Hurrah! I had my first weigh-in since Christmas tonight and I've lost 4.5 lbs. And I reached my 10%. In fact I'm feeling so smug someone's going to have to slap me soon.

Well done to you too Woodpops - you must be about half the size you were. Do you want to lose much more? How is everyone else?

PuffTheMagicDragon · 12/01/2005 22:01

Well done bran - that's brilliant.

monkeygirl · 13/01/2005 10:40

Well done Bran and Woodpops!

Bran - you deserve to feel 'smug'. o you mind me asking, how long did it take you to get the 10% off?

I'm still chugging along slowly but am beginning to worry about whether I should have some wine this weekend. I don't drink to excess but can't just 'do' one small glass of wine - does anyone else indulge?? How much?

FineFigureFio · 13/01/2005 10:43

well done bran that is excellent

monkeygirl i ahve the same problem with wine (can easily drink a bottle ) but I have decided to cut it out completely in the week (was a bit naughty last night though but had loads of points spare so had two very small glasses) Then on a weekend dh has agreed to 'share' a bottle with me on a friday and saturday night. I am hping this is going to work!

monkeygirl · 13/01/2005 10:58

FFF - does that mean you have half or 1 bottle over the w/end? Dh and I would normally share but he has given up the booze for a month (and has so far lost nearly a stone ). I wish I could but am so weak!

Kittypickle · 13/01/2005 11:05

Well done Bran and Woodpops, that's brilliant I went for my first WI last night and have lost 4lbs. It's exactly a year ago since I started this, so that make a grand total of 15lbs. Not exactly brilliant, but a lot better than having put that amount on.

monkeygirl · 13/01/2005 11:16

Well done Kittypickle - a stone (+1) off, no matter how long it took, is better than being older and heavier! If I'd lost a pound a month or even every few months the amount of time I've been dieting or worrying about my weight, I'd have been a real skinny Miss by now!

FineFigureFio · 13/01/2005 11:53

yes monkeygirl i intend to have 1 bottle to myself over the whole weekend how will i cope?

Its funny because i never drank when i was pregnant, so i know I dont need to drink. but always that first taste of alcohol after the pregnancy always tasted vile, wish i just had stopped then!

monkeygirl · 13/01/2005 11:58

Phew, me too . Know what you mean cos I (mostly) didn't drink when pregnant but I think now I associate it with putting the kids to bed and being able to slump and wind down for a few minutes in relative peace.

PuffTheMagicDragon · 13/01/2005 12:09

well done kittypickle - I think 15lbs is brill and I reckon done gradually like that its more likely to stay off.

bran · 13/01/2005 17:33

Well done Kittypickle (love your name by the way), you're right about 15 lbs off being better than 15 lbs on. Personally I don't feel that speed of loss is that important to me (although I am always a bit when I think of how well Woodpops has done), I'm much more concerned about maintaining any loss and staying healthy for the long-term.

Monkeygirl, I started WW around the end of August, and I've lost 26.5 lbs in total, with just over 5 stone more to go. I reckon it'll take me about 18 months to 2 years before I get to target weight at the current rate, although I'm hoping that it might speed up as I get lighter.

Am I the only one who eats less the more white wine I drink? I am putting my loss down the the fact that I spent much of the Christmas period pissed and therefore didn't nibble too much.

MrsBigD · 14/01/2005 10:40

Dreading my weigh-in tomorrow... I've been a 'good girl' all week, but just got the 'dreaded monthly evil' so a) feel bloated, b) feel weepy and c) no idea how it might affect my weight tomorrow

I need a hug (wimper)

bran · 14/01/2005 10:51

Awwwww, I don't give hugs but I'm sending good vibes your way. I try not to worry about one individual week, especially if there is a chance of bloating because it will sort itself out by the following week. I hope it goes well though, it might be better than you think, especially as you've been good.

PuffTheMagicDragon · 14/01/2005 11:11

((hugs)) MrsBigD - if you've stayed the same or put weight on, at least you know why. I usually stay the same or only lose about a pound during that week.

glitterfairy · 14/01/2005 11:27

Bran well done indeed!

bran · 14/01/2005 17:27

Hi Champs, I'm sorry to hear about the sickness - I hope it passes soon, did it last long with the last pgs? Ignore your mother she's probably jealous that you have a life while constantly worrying about her weight has sucked all the joy out of her life (of course I don't know anything about your mum so I could be way off the mark there, perhaps she's thin and happy and never has to worry about what she eats?).

MrsBigD · 15/01/2005 08:35

Weighed myself this morning and 'despite the bloated time of month' I lost exactly 1kg (2.2lb) in 1 week. I'm well chuffed. Didn't think the GI diet would work, that'll teach me

Champs - hope you're feeling better soon. As for mums and hurtfull comments... just ignore it... my mum's the same... 6 weeks after having had ds she came to visit (she lives in Germany) and aksed me how much I weighed, I told her and she said 'well that's way too much'... daaaah... as if I didn't know that! Whereas my dad, who came over for the birth and looked after us for 3 weeks kept saying 'stop fretting it'll come off, you've just given birth!'
