Just as it says really- I'm on my 4th week and was wondering if anyone else has taken it as well?

Just stated today… how is it going for you?

lardass88 · 04/07/2022 07:00

Actually not bad. No major side effects, apart from constipation, I get sulphur burps if I've eaten lots, I get a bad belly if I eat spicy food or high fat, I've lost 8 pounds so far in three weeks. Due to move up a dose next week as I'm finding my appetite is coming back and not as suppressed as it was

@lardass88, I started my 3rd week today. No side effects. I'm on the lowest dose to start . My GP recommended it because I have PCOS and was struggling to lose weight. I've noticed I'm not craving bread as much or anything really. Would love something tasty to eat but can't really decide what I want. 🤔I have had a few alcoholic drinks at the weekend though.

I've no weighing scales at home so can't track weight loss. I'm with my GP on the 15th July to get weighed and up the dosage.

Well done on your weight loss,I would be delighted if I managed to lose that amount.

lardass88 · 05/07/2022 09:22

@Footbal thank you! Yeah I'm really chuffed. I'm going to go up to the next dose tomorrow but a bit worried about side effects 🤔 yeah it's a weird feeling of opening the fridge full of your favourite foods but not fancying anything 🤣 I've been caught out a few times tho - can't eat anything too spicy .. and I had some deep pan pizza the first week and they made me ill but it's all a learning curve. Only another 2 and a half stone to go 🤦🏼‍♀️

Hello! I’m just finisingmy first week on Ozempic and astounded at how good it is. I’m 5ft 2 and 13st, BMI of 33.5 so technically obese but doing this through a aesthetics clinic. It is so weird not constantly thinking about snacking, or opening the fridge and not fancying anything! I haven’t weighed yet as I’m away on holiday (another strange situation, I’d have 5lb on by now normally) but definitely feel like I’ve lost! What’s everyone taking for constipation?

lardass88 · 05/07/2022 10:48

@Capricornandproud I'm similar to you- 5' 3 tho I was just over 14stone. In four weeks I've lost 9 lbs- it's so nice to see the scales going down. Yeah the constipation is not great - I take senokot for it ( or do what i did and eat a really hot chilli) 😳🔥 problem solved 🤣

@lardass88,On average how many calories are you eating daily?

lardass88 · 05/07/2022 20:07

@Footbal I don't calorie count

Footbal · 06/07/2022 14:01

@lardass88, if you don't kind me asking what does your daily food intake look like? Have you cut out anything?

lardass88 · 06/07/2022 15:01

I've noticed Im eating a lot less , smaller portion sizes, and I'm not snacking in between meals. I also stop when I'm full because if I don't it just lies heavy and I feel uncomfortable. It's all a bit of a learning curve of cutting back but still eating food I enjoy tho as I said on some foods I've eaten I've had awful stomach cramps and diarrhoea

OP posts:
Butterflystar76 · 09/07/2022 11:18

I’ve definitely eaten a lot less and am feeling full which is not something I am used to. Hoping it shows on the scales tomorrow when I weigh!

Footbal · 13/07/2022 08:20

@Butterflystar76 ,How are you? Did you weigh in?

I'm getting weighed on Friday at my GP appointment and will hopefully get my dose increased.

lardass88 · 13/07/2022 17:10

I've just upped my dose. Injected last night- feel absolutely wiped out today - so lethargic. Tho to date I've lost 10lbs

Out of interest can most people take this? Or are there contraindications?

Footbal · 14/07/2022 07:10

@lardass88 ,10lbs is amazing..what dose are you on now?

lardass88 · 14/07/2022 19:22

I'm on 0.5 x

Footbal · 15/07/2022 13:10

Can a GP prescribe this?

RudsyFarmer · 15/07/2022 21:34

I’ve never heard of this.

maltesersarethedevil · 15/07/2022 21:48

I'm taking sexenda I'm only on day 3. I lost 8lb in the week I was waiting for it to be approved and Collect etc so hoping for another good result this week.

It very strange not being interested in food at all, no sugar cravings no snacks I just don't want them. It's amazing.

LighterHeart · 16/07/2022 15:14

I've been on Ozempic from beginning of Feb. Started at 32 BMI and today, after just over 40lbs loss, I am at 26.1. I've not been at this weight since my teenage years (I'm 51). I want to shed another stone which would put me into normal BMI of 24.

This medication has been a godsend to someone like me who has been obese all my adult life (at my highest weight I almost reached BMI of 40). It has allowed me to follow a healthy diet (higher protein, lower carb, no UPFs) without hunger or cravings for the "wrong" stuff.

monicagellerbing · 17/07/2022 08:06

Does anyone get this from their GP?

Footbal · 17/07/2022 08:13

@monicagellerbing, I get mine from my GP.

monicagellerbing · 17/07/2022 09:15

@Footbal do you have diabetes? Google tells me a GP can only prescribe it if you have diabetes
