@endlesswashing how exciting! Enjoy!!

How do you all keep up with posts, I can't remember who said what when it comes to replying 🤦‍♀️ so I need to keep going back and forth!

Sounds like we're all doing well plodding along. I'm definitely back in the right head space. Making sure to get my 10k steps every day no matter what, stood on scales this morning and it said 4lbs down! Yaaaassss. About bloody time! Hopefully this motivates me now. Going to weigh wheh I feel like it instead of set weigh days and I feel so much pressure when I do that. Hope you all having a good Monday!

Hi everyone!
after gaining 3 stone over the past 3 years I think it’s time I actually committed to a diet. Was at a wedding over the weekend and I’m really not happy with how I look in the photos.

weather is nice today so will hopefully manage a walk later and might do a shop with some healthy food for the week!

it’s a new week so hope everyone smashes it 👍🏼

Isn't it horrible how it just creeps on then you think omg how have I gained so much 🙁

lisalou1401 · 01/08/2022 15:05

@poorpaws I find when I say that I'm never going back to xyz weight again, that's when I do it! Forget the chocolate binge, I had it last weekend but have managed to get past it. Happens to us all!

endlesswashing · 01/08/2022 15:16

@TalkToTheHand123 if you really go for it with piles of food, 3 courses most meals, lots of ice cream, treats and booze then a lot of weight.
My clothes are normally pretty tight when I return from holiday. I'm guessing I'll have gained about 8 pounds (from past experience, but hoping for less).

endlesswashing · 01/08/2022 15:18

Well done @lisalou1401 4lbs is brilliant!

poorpaws · 01/08/2022 17:09

It's been busy here today.

@lisalou1401 very well done and keep up the good work.

Strange that some of us hit our July goal on Friday/Saturday but didn't make it on Monday. It's goes to show what the weekend does to some of us. My weeks in future will be 7 week days and no weekends.

I'm almost grateful (not quite though) for my weekend binge because I have been so very upset with myself all day knowing what I could have achieved and didn't. I've had a very stern word with myself and as a sort of penance I am going to try extra hard this week.

I would like to do two dog walks and two exercises <gulp> and a minimum of 20,000 steps (I'd like 24,000 actually but that's going a bit far). I need to get back to 10st 12 quickly as I was so proud of myself and then fell off the wagon dramatically.

Are all August goals in? Anyone not bothering? Even if I fail it gives me a little push to try harder and I am determined one day to hit my goal on the day I should do.

Have a good evening everyone and a good weeks start to our new goals.

Well done @lisalou1401 !

poorpaws · 02/08/2022 07:46

Good morning everyone

Just a quickie to say I had a very good day yesterday after a bad weekend and I'm now back down to 10 stone 13 and only 1 lb off my July goal now. I managed 25,155 steps yesterday which just goes to prove how much you can do if you really try (and are very cross with yourself for being stupid over the weekend). I'm hoping to get that 1 lb off within the next two days so I'll be back on track.

I hope everyone is doing well, it's quite a dull day here today so far but I think trying to keep moving really helps. It's far easier in the lovely sunshine.

Happy Tuesday.

@poorpaws .great news.
That's a lot of steps... Do you have an active job?
I spend most of the day sat down...
I am feeling cross and demotivated.. Had three excellent days, under 1200 calories limit each day, exercised and dog walked and no alcohol and scales had inched down yesterday to 72.5 but then today back to 73...for no reason.
Sat now feeling hungry.. And fantasising about toast...
Also pissed off as got two work dinners this week which I can't get out off but for once I really don't want to blow weight loss.
I need to hit a target... And want 3kg off in August.
Please come and give me a pep talk...

endlesswashing · 02/08/2022 10:52

You've got this @Theredjellybean! Could fluid retention be the slight increase?
Toast ship has sailed now as we're heading towards lunchtime. Work Dinners will be fine, can you view menus and choose in advance?

Theredjellybean · 02/08/2022 10:59

Thank you... Really made me feel better.
I never eat breakfast so toast is always just a dream
Its one hr until lunch... I'll will have a large glass of squash...

daintydaisies · 02/08/2022 11:11

Got some books yesterday “the slimming foodie” and “prep yourself slim” (which we have used before and loved!)
marked down some good recipes from each and have prepped what we’re going to eat this week.
went on a walk yesterday & at work today. From now on I will be prepping work lunches rather than buying whilst there (better for diet and saves money too)
hope everyone is having a good day so far!

TalkToTheHand123 · 02/08/2022 12:12

I think I'd try fill myself up with soup first. Seems to be doing the trick at the moment. 1 more lbs off which was a bit of a suprise, but no complaints.

Determined to plan for an early night tonight. Hate waking up tired.

Theredjellybean · 02/08/2022 13:03

@endlesswashing ..work dinners - yes i have viewed menus...one is at Aqua Shard and second is at Hawksmoor ...sigh...i am being very brattish as both will be amazing and lovely and many people see as a huge treat , and usually i do too...but just wanted a really solid 4 weeks of steady healthy eating instead of yoyoing up and down.
I have a plan though...am going to have one glass of wine only, as my hangovers are so bad if i drink more and i have a really big day the day after both dinners.
that will limit damage
and i am going to try to go for fish only dishes at aqua shard and at Hawksmoor will not have a starter ( i am going with mostly men who all love the whole steak and more steak menu !) .
I love steak too...

endlesswashing · 02/08/2022 13:55

@Theredjellybean oooh they are nice work dinners! Glad you have a plan and enjoy them 😋

poorpaws · 02/08/2022 15:02

@Theredjellybean right, pep talk. You know very well that you can do this, you have strength and determination. I would have no alcohol unless there is a toast (no not the kind you have been fantasising about). I'd choose either Diet Coke, flavoured water or similar. Fish is good, you know that, but if in sauce I would make sure I left most of the sauce. What is it served with? If veg, eat a lot. No starter and a small dessert and pass on cappuccino or have black coffee. Oh and don't mention weight loss because some kindly person will go all out to sabotage your efforts.

I have the faith, think of the slimmer future you, i know you can do it. Definitely do not let healthy eating spoil your evening, embrace it and have a lovely time.

To answer your questions, no I don't work now (was a secretary) so I have all day to be lazy or busy trying to lose the weight. I managed all the steps yesterday with a 3 hour morning dog walk, followed by housework, then an exercise dvd and a 2 hour evening dog walk. I was going to try for the same today but I'm quite tired. I've already done the dog walk and some housework but now I'd just like to sit down 🙈

I hope today is going well for everyone.

Another quickie message - 10st 12 lbs this morning, so two days to put weight on and two days to take it off, I'm back to July goal weight and can now concentrate on August.

I hope everyone has started their August goal and is doing well. I'm hoping we can all do this in August so good luck everyone.

Have a happy Wednesday and as always do what you can.

@poorpaws congratulations on righting the wobbly wagon! There's only down from here... (down on the scales that is)

@Theredjellybean champagne has fewer calories than wine and is more festive 😉 good luck, I love both those restaurants! I might also have to browse the menus and live vicariously...

A rubbish start to August for me - one of those weeks where your finely balanced house of cards of a routine collapses, so no chance of exercising until Saturday. Eyes on the prize and off the comfort pies. Better luck to everyone else!

welcome @daintydaisies

lisalou1401 · 03/08/2022 09:37

@poorpaws wow you have a lucky dog with those walks!! I try walk mine for an hour ish every day, depends on time. The dream is a 3 hour walk 😂

@Theredjellybean good luck!! It's hard. Always something in the way of just staying on the healthy eating wagon.

@triplecheeese hope your week gets better

Well today I "officially" weighed in and right enough 4lbs off. (Altho was hovering on 5). Just what I needed to give me a big push to actually get my butt in gear and keep going!! Coming off for 2 weeks today so hopefully can keep it going 🤞

Theredjellybean · 03/08/2022 10:39

@lisalou1401 thats a great loss , well done
and i agree my dogs would literally lie down and refuse to move at about the 1 hr mark...the spaniels are just lazy and very entitled and would want to be carried and the ddog3 ( too outing to name the breed) would do it as he is a bit 'special needs' and then would spend days looking at me sadly as if it was all my fault.
though we live with direct access to a beach so they do a lot of pottering around during the day on the beach so i think they are more active than i think.

when i am in London i sometimes take one of the spaniels with me , he likes a very slow and dignified potter round regents park with his nose in the air..i swear he thinks he is some kind of canine royalty.

lisalou1401 · 03/08/2022 10:43

@Theredjellybean 😂😂😂 I absolutely love spaniels. I want to get a springer or cocker one day. I have a collie cross and I could walk him for 5 hours he'd still be happy to walk 5 more. Unlimited energy that one

TalkToTheHand123 · 04/08/2022 09:54

Managed to talk myself into going to the gym yesterday and hoping to go again tonight.

Bought a bigger pot to cook more soup as the soup binging seems to be helping.

An afternoon tea session tomorrow so trying to limit for before and after!

BeyondMyWits · 04/08/2022 12:43

Hiya all, been busy with work this week, so not been around so much. But have finally made my July target... (15st10)

I reckon July simply didn't have enough days in it...

So roll on the August target... 15st7... was going to be 15st 6, but August is looking awfully short now😆

poorpaws · 04/08/2022 15:48

@lisalou1401 yes my dogs have a good life and all the walks are off lead and pretty. I took some photos this morning:

@lisalou1401 ... but only one would post.

In dieting news I am still trying but getting a bit bored with my exercise dvd (just done it) and it doesn't seem to use a lot of calories. The dogs are having sausages tonight for a treat (no I don't feed them regularly) and they smell so good.

I hope everyone is enjoying the heat and trying hard with the food.
