I need to lose 16lbs in 8 weeks to meet my one year goal.

For comple transparency I had a gastric sleeve 10 months ago but have stopped losing weight now for 6 weeks so need to kick myself up the arse the get the last 16lbs off

My plan is 2 litres water a day. Lots of protein and walking /biking.

Anyone care to join?

I would love to join in too please but it will be starting on Wednesday as that’s when I get home.

I will be checking into the next stage of my body coach plan and check in is every month so that’s two cycles and by then I should have completed intermediate cycle 1. I started on beginners due to injuries so progress hasn’t been as quick as I would have liked and I’m currently abroad so will see what damage that has done soon.

My plan is to following the food plan on the app, get lots of exercise 4 to 5 exercise sessions of things like HIIT/ spinning or weights a week and lots of walking and some yoga.

TwoBigNoisyBoys · 27/05/2022 22:54

I’d like to join too please. I’m 6 weeks post chemo (breast cancer) and due to have surgery next month, followed by radiotherapy. I need to lose a stone and a half to get back to where I was pre-diagnosis, and to be honest another stone and a half after that would be great! I can’t do any radical weight loss diets, but I need to eat healthier and get fitter.

Plan to stop snacking, up my fruit and veg, decrease bread (my absolute weakness!) and try for 2l of water a day. I also plan to increase my daily exercise regimes at home (and walking) as I’m not well enough to get back to the gym yet.

Justkeeppedaling · 27/05/2022 23:12

Me too. I would love to lose half a stone, or even a stone.
High protein and walking works for me.

@Justkeeppedaling how much walking are you aiming for? I aim for 12k steps daily but still have the odd hour where I don't stand up at all :(

Min of 5,000 on a busy day. 10,000 on a day when I have the time. I can walk 10,000 in an hour. It's only about 4 miles.

Dashel · 28/05/2022 10:07

It involves 4 to 5 HIIT workouts a week and eating three meals and two snacks a day using meals and recipes on his app. There are meal plans for dietary requirements and I’m on the vegan one. The food is very good and feels more like a healthy eating plan than a diet.

The plan is split into beginner cycle (3 rounds) intermediate cycle (5 I think) and then advanced and the workouts get progressively harder each cycle. You can start on round one of which plan you wish. I chose beginner as my shoulder is injured and I can’t do a lot of things like burpee’s or push ups or high planks which I am currently substituting for other exercises.

I joined when it was on offer for £50 which I think is great value for money and the Facebook support group is supportive and helpful.

PonyoLovesSouske · 28/05/2022 10:23

Morning everyone.

Hai g a protein yog for brekkie then will start on the water.

Have to admit, woke up completely unmotivated and wanted to have tea and buttery toast but logged on to this thread and chose yogurt instead.

We can do this!

Oh I've wanted to start meditation for years but have no idea how, any tips please?

I'll join in too. Need to lose about a stone. I have been doing okay food wise, though probably need to reduce my nut intake. I have cut off all booze and started running. Unfortunately overslept today so missed my run but back to it tomorrow morning.

I run every morning this week which I hadn't done for over 2 years and I feel like my thighs and legs are about to fall off!

annabell22 · 28/05/2022 13:14

Count me in please! I'm at Ieast a stone and a half over my preferred weight and over the last 6 months it's just gone up and up. I lost a little when I had covid in April but I've put about 6lbs on since then. I don't even know how/why. Sad

TwoBigNoisyBoys · 28/05/2022 14:26

@palmplantcirca1980s that’s no problem, please feel free to ask away! I’m doing ok, not really feeling strong or well at the moment but I’m determined to get back to where I was fitness wise, even if it takes a lot longer!

Ive remembered I have a Noom subscription too, so will re-engage with that.

Just had a sausage roll for lunch though, and we’re having a bbq later so looks like this will all start on Monday 🙄🙈

I’d like to join too! Just realised I go on holiday (hopefully) in 6 weeks today and I had intended on being significantly slimmer for it so now’s the time to get going!

Have had a year of ill health which has made it difficult to diet as eating seems like the only enjoyable thing I’ve been able to do and the weight is creeping up. I need to stop comfort eating now though and hopefully this thread will keep me accountable.

I've restarted MyFitnessPal and stocked up on nice fruit so today has gone quite well so far. Aiming to lose 12 lbs in the end. Ideally 9lbs before hol but that’s perhaps ambitious.

sausagesandchamp · 28/05/2022 17:53

Yes, I'm in too! I have 6kg to be healthy, 10kg to be ideal weight

Mushroo · 28/05/2022 20:34

Me please! I’m really struggling - the pounds will just not shift.

Im only short and pre covid I was 8 stone 10.

The start of May I was 9 stone 6. I feel huge. I’ve been hitting the gym hard and trying to eat better, and so far, in nearly a month, I’ve lost 2 pounds. It’s so disheartening!!

I think I need to cut down on alcohol and carbs. I keep hearing mixed messages about whether to keep under 1300 calories, or eat more to fuel workouts?

weekends are my problem I think if anyone has any tips?

For example, today:

  • HIIT workout at the gym
  • 13,000 steps.
Food:
  • Poached eggs on toast
  • sausage roll
  • salmon and stir fry veg
  • A Madeline and a piece of chocolate.
In the week I wouldn’t dream of a sausage roll, but I find it so hard to cut out treats completely.

@palmplantcirca1980s I’m not even sure I properly have a thought out appprach so definitely open to suggestions!

I try and calorie count on MFP but I’m not the best at keeping on it as I find weighing when cooking fresh a bit of a faff.

Exercise wise I’ve gone from pretty much nothing to:

  • aiming for at least 10,000 steps a day
  • weights 3 times a week
  • Hiit twice a week
