I need to lose 16lbs in 8 weeks to meet my one year goal.

For comple transparency I had a gastric sleeve 10 months ago but have stopped losing weight now for 6 weeks so need to kick myself up the arse the get the last 16lbs off

My plan is 2 litres water a day. Lots of protein and walking /biking.

Anyone care to join?

Thanks very much @palmplantcirca1980s that’s really helpful. Do you have a particular podcast you could recommend?

i tried 5:2 before and it was working quite well, but I gave up after about a month when I found out I was pregnant. I’m breastfeeding now so I’m assuming fasting won’t work for me yet.

I managed a HIIT workout this morning and my 15k steps. Not been too bad with food but not perfect, it’s a bank holiday after all.

Phunny · 03/06/2022 15:22

I should have said, I’m on holiday at the minute so not sure exactly what I weigh. I’ve averaged about 11,000 steps a day and run most days, averaging about 3 miles a day. I’ve eaten ok, considering, but I’ll find out the truth when I get home & get on the scales. Do people generally weigh once a week or every day?

RunningKatie · 03/06/2022 18:20

I'm trying to drink 2 litres of water, completely failed yesterday as we were out for the day. Today I've manage 1 litre so far.
I've not weighed myself or tracked my food. I've meal planned the weekend, fingers crossed I can keep on track.
Hope everyone is having a good long weekend.

Hi everyone. How are you getting on? I’ve come down with a horrid bug so not been on plan the past couple of days but not eaten much (mostly ice lollies…) so hopefully not disastrous.

So impressed with how active you all are. Can’t believe that 11,000 steps is a sedentary day @palmplantcirca1980s !! I really hope I am healthy again soon and can get back to running. I’m planning to do as many reformer Pilates classes as I can before my hol in July to try to tone up a little bit.

@Phunny i usually weigh every day as I find it keeps me focused. I think I would end up not trying as hard until the weigh day was coming up if I weighed weekly!

Phunny · 07/06/2022 16:42

Oh @UrsulaLittleBear i hope you’re feeling better.

I’m back from holiday and weigh exactly the same as when I left. I’ll take that! I’ve not done much exercise the last few days though and diet has gone a bit wobbly, so I need to get back on it. I might try to weigh twice a week as a middle ground.

Dashel · 07/06/2022 17:57

@Phunny that is amazing!! I put three pounds back on and then maintained over the Bank holiday weekend.

I am 10st 11lb and was 10st 8 before I left 😢 I did a workout on Saturday but I have had niggles in my back and knees so have put a pause on the HIIT for a couple of days. But I’m hoping to feel better tomorrow. DH is away tomorrow overnight and that’s my real danger time so I have to be careful.

My steps have been good and diet will be much better now the weekend has gone

UrsulaLittleBear · 08/06/2022 19:24

@phunny thank you I’m mostly better now. And well done for not putting on weight on holiday! That’s amazing.

I still haven’t got back into the mindset again after being more relaxed over the bank holiday. I’ve not been terrible but not going for it and feel much hungrier even though I’m eating a bit more. Maybe it’s just hunger catching up with me from dieting for a few weeks.

I’ve got a medical procedure next week where I need to starve for nearly 2 days so I’m a bit worried about going into that too hungry iyswim. Suppose I can just eat a bit more the day before the fast starts. I’m going to be so hangry…

Dashel · 08/06/2022 21:00

@UrsulaLittleBear fasting for two days is going to do wonders for the scales, I hope the op goes well and You make a speedy recovery.

Are you eating less than you were over the weekend, but more than you did before? It always takes me a week or so to adjust to a reduced amount of food and get used to not snacking every time I fancy something.

I managed to a HIIT workout first thing although I am struggling with my steps, I have been on plan with food. I also lost a pound this morning so 10st 10lb. DH is away so I had pancakes for dinner from the Body Coach app. They have protein powder in them and are served with stewed apple rather than my usual sugar and lemon. Pancakes on plan 🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳

UrsulaLittleBear · 08/06/2022 21:23

Pancakes on plan sounds like living the dream! Well done for losing a pound. Always nice to see the scales move.

I’m having more like 1400 calories rather than the 1200 I was having last week. Had slightly more over the weekend so yes just need to get used to it again I think. I’m sure I’ll start to lose again just need to stick with it, then will be more motivated. Although I’m away staying with family this weekend so eating will be a bit out of my control.

Blowyourowntrumpet · 08/06/2022 21:35

I'd love to join please. I've managed to lose half a stone in the last three weeks, but I've got another 2 stones to go. I've been walking a lot and eating loads of veg. We can do this 🙂

Dashel · 08/06/2022 22:21

@UrsulaLittleBear im away too visiting friends and it’s a party weekend with a takeaway on Friday, I have been debating making extra breakfasts to take with me as at least it gives me one meal on plan. I don’t want to be antisocial but I don’t want to pile on the pounds either.

@Blowyourowntrumpet wow how have you managed to loose so much so fast?

UrsulaLittleBear · 08/06/2022 22:49

@Dashel its difficult isn’t it? I think I’ll just stick to meals, try to keep portions smallish and avoid sweet stuff. I’m visiting a poorly relative so def can’t be awkward with food requests. Taking your breakfast sounds like a good idea. Any chance it’s a takeaway that has healthy options?!

Welcome @Blowyourowntrumpet! Well done on your loss so far!

Phunny · 12/06/2022 15:30

@UrsulaLittleBear good luck with your visit

@Blowyourowntrumpet welcome!

@Dashel it sounds like we are in similar places. I am 11st 1lb and I can’t wait to get under 11st.

i still haven’t lost any weight since holiday but I did manage a couple of hard runs at the weekend. Porridge for breakfast, Salad for lunch today and omelette for tea. I’m not counting calories yet and I’m hoping I won’t need to. I just find it such hard work, even with a good app. Do you get used to it? Do you count all the time?

UrsulaLittleBear · 13/06/2022 17:45

Thanks @Phunny the visit was nice but I ate so much rubbish! I’m also 11st1 (or was before this weekend!) and keen to get under 11.

Went to Pilates this morning but not eaten very well. I’m fasting the next couple of days so hopefully that will make up for my excesses and then will get back on track with healthy eating at the end of this week.

I quite like counting with MyFitnessPal because it’s the only thing that stops me overeating so it’s very effective. I haven’t done it today/at the weekend and it’s very noticeable the different choices I make. It is a hassle but you get used to it and if you eat similar things regularly it gets easier.

Hows everyone getting on? The thread has gone quiet!

UrsulaLittleBear · 25/06/2022 12:03

Anyone still going? @Dashel @Phunny @Blowyourowntrumpet @RunningKatie @PonyoLovesSouske how are you getting on?

I'm down nearly 8lbs overall which I’m pleased with but currently 11st0.4 and sooo desperate to get under 11! I go away in two weeks and would like to be 10st10 by then which I might manage if I go for it. My original aim at the start of the year was to be 10st7 but then I didn’t do anything about it but this isn’t too far off if I can manage.

Blowyourowntrumpet · 25/06/2022 14:29

Hi. I'm still going, been for a swim today which was good. Lost 5lb so far which I'm really pleased about. Got a lot more to go, it feels a bit daunting. I'm determined though. Good luck everyone. We can do this.

Blowyourowntrumpet · 25/06/2022 14:32

Sorry, have lost 12lb altogether. Half a stone in the first three weeks and then another 5lb since 8th June. Almost a stone 🙂. Hope everyone is getting on well?

UrsulaLittleBear · 25/06/2022 23:15

Amazing - well done @Blowyourowntrumpet nearly a stone! Glad your swim was good.

RunningKatie · 26/06/2022 16:08

I'm 2lb down, I was going well then had an evening event and things went downhill from there.
I have 6 weeks till we go away, so have mentally reset this weekend and will go again.

UrsulaLittleBear · 26/06/2022 20:22

Good luck with the reset @RunningKatie and well done on the loss so far. 6 weeks is a good timeframe - long enough to lose a fair bit but short enough to stay focussed! How much are you trying to lose?
