My story so far:
I started a thread “Lockdown stones to lose” in early June last year. I had nearly 3 stones to lose and was very determined. At times I did very well and at one point had lost over 1.5 stones.

Loads of people joined and then left and I think only four of us remained at the end. I kept plodding on. Just after Christmas I became ill for seven weeks (Covid related). I couldn’t do much or go out so my weight ballooned. I still kept plodding on. Then one of my dogs suffered an horrendous attack and whilst nursing her I just about lived on chocolate.

So here I am nearly 11 months later, most likely very nearly back to square one. I keep reminding myself that last time I said I would not give up no matter what! Will you join me tomorrow morning? I would love some company.

My plan is to cut out all extra sugar, cake, pudding, ice cream etc. I think because it's health related it could be easier, you know how people always try to encourage you to eat. Saying I'm trying to improve my eczema is unarguable really.
The other thing I'm trying is 16:8 and reduced portions. If I can postpone breakfast until lunchtime I can aim for 2 meals a day in the week. Weekends we have breakfast together so I'll try to eat less then.
I'm planning to carry on until my birthday on 1st July and see whether the flab has reduced!

extrapineappleonmypizza · 24/04/2022 19:50

I had a nasty shock this morning when I cut my finger in the kitchen. The amount of blood knocked me sick and I needed a sugary tea!

Lunch - Two slices of toast with low fat cream cheese, sweet chilli sauce and chicken. A handful of little tomatoes.
Tea - Tuna, sweetcorn and broccoli pasta bake with a side salad and coleslaw. The cheese on top was reduced fat and didn’t melt very well.

I’ve also had the best part of a bottle of wine over the course of the afternoon - 9.5% so not too calorific, but will need to refrain from anything further. No key lime cheesecake for me!

Leftover salad has been put into Tupperware to take to work tomorrow.

My finger is still throbbing!

FuckingHateRats · 24/04/2022 19:51

Today I've had:

Mango smoothie (half a banana, Greek yoghurt, flaxseeds and chai seeds, frozen mango)

Another chopped salad.

Tinga chicken wraps with homemade guacamole.

(And half a portion of the chocolate mousse that my girls made this afternoon 😬)

Drinking gallons of fancy water.

Well done to everyone that has stayed on track this weekend.

I haven't been good at all. I was away for a friend's birthday so have eaten out twice, had cake, wine and a lovely time did do a fair bit of walking but no way enough to combat the extra calories consumed.

New day tomorrow so will do my best to make good choices.

DrRamsesEmerson · 24/04/2022 21:04

I stayed on track, but only by not eating lunch today - supper was a sausage roll, quails' eggs, pitta bread and houmous, and three glasses of wine. Just about OK as I'd had nothing but coffee and I'd done an exercise DVD. Hey ho. Tomorrow is Monday.

applesandpears33 · 24/04/2022 21:36

You have all done so well. I have eaten two cookies, half a burrito, a handful of marshmallows, a small handful of sunflower seeds, a piece of cake and a plate of steak, chips and fried onions and peppers. I've also had two glasses of wine. Not the best day! I have however passed on more sweet treats that I could have eaten so it could have been worse. Tomorrow is another day.

YorkshireLawyer · 24/04/2022 21:40

Reporting back in… day 1 success. I’ve had 2.5 litres of water and done Day 1 of the 30 Day Shred. My arms and legs feel like they belong to someone else so I suspect tomorrow morning will be interesting! I’ve also made tomorrow night’s dinner and prepared some fruit for a quick breakfast in the morning.

Today’s meals have been:

  • Low fat yoghurt with some honey and fresh fruit.
  • Tuna and boiled egg salad with a small amount of homemade dressing.
  • Pan fried chicken with a sauce made out of chicken stock and low fat crème fraiche. I only had one piece of chicken (thigh) and three small roast potatoes and filled the rest of my plate with veg.
  • An Options hot choc made with half water and half skimmed milk.
Goals for tomorrow:
  • Exercise
  • 2 litres of water
  • Watch dinner portion. It’s pasta with a sausage meat sauce so I need to only have a small portion and bulk it out with a lot of salad.
Well done to everyone who’s had a successful day, and for those who haven’t, tomorrow is another day 😀
Midnightstar76 · 25/04/2022 07:17

Morning,
A tad disappointed this morning as hopped on the scales and have put on. Not much but can absolutely see exactly where and it has definitely been the celebrations chocolates left over from the kids Easter stash and little bits of Easter egg along the way. Will be happy when all of that is gone but I am not having any more. Willpower be strong 💪. Have booked a day off work for me time today. I was planning on leaping out of bed before the school run and doing my 3rd couch to 5k but had my breakfast 2 weetabix and a cuppa instead and will go later at about 10 ish when the day has warmed up. Beautiful blue skys again today so washing on the line day it is. Also going to declutter books that I just don’t fancy reading and sort my tip of a wardrobe.

Fatasbuggery · 25/04/2022 07:33

Back to work today and am hoping this will help keep me more on track. I fell off the wagon over the weekend. Lots of socialising which is always very tricky . Fun but tricky!
However I have downloaded couch to 5k , I have completed this in the past and felt so much better . However I am expecting it to be a lot harder this time with all the added weight.
Good luck and happy Monday to all.

poorpaws · 25/04/2022 08:05

Good morning everyone, well done to most of you and for those who didn't quite make it, it's the beginning of the week and we'll all try again.

I stayed the same which was expected but I'm changing my start date to today, forgetting the first five days.

SW: 11st 3lbs
GW: 10st

I hope to lose 2 lbs this week but I think we might be having a day out tomorrow (depending on weather) so that could be tricky. I figure if I'm on track for the rest of the week I'll do ok.

I'm intending to do that exercise dvd I keep looking at too.

We're expecting a parcel and have to be in for it this morning so I'm hoping to work and take the dogs this afternoon (bit longer for more steps I'm hoping). Washing and cleaning 🤞🏻instead of sitting around drinking coffee is my plan (not sure that one will work).

I'm going to really try this week and not find excuses (I'm not too good at this) and I'll post daily for motivation and support.

Good luck on our first full week everyone, please keep posting and I look forward to hear your successes (and a few blips along the road too which is inevitable Smile). This is turning into a lovely friendly supportive thread, thank you all.

Work today, will buy some fruit and yogurt on the way in to help keep me on track! Hoping for a good disciplined week.

anotherneutralname · 25/04/2022 08:25

Morning all. DD finally go back to school this week, but on the downside that means I’ll also be back in the office aka Feeder Zone 😂

Hope you all have a good day. I’m aiming to fit in a swim - worked last night on some urgent stuff, so I could take some exercise time today and still meet deadlines. Feel a bit of a zombie this morning though!

Half inch off waist when measured yesterday. Pleeeeeeeenty to go.

GinnieHempstock · 25/04/2022 08:26

This morning had a very trying start.
Woke to an overflowing kitchen bin where my eldest had stuffed the remains of a take away in despite there being no space. And of course he didn't empty it.
Then my kitchen scales needed new batteries so I couldn't weigh my lunch until I hunted out a screw driver and a new battery.
Lastly, I was doing this without the aid of coffee as my machine needing refilling with beans.
I also had to leave the house an hour earlier than most Mondays, at 7.15, as a favour to a work colleague. No good turn goes unpunished.
I know they are all minor, but I'm not my best in the morning, especially pre coffee.
Ah well, the day may improve although I have a two hour meeting this afternoon where I think there will be lots of unhappy people.
I plan to de stress with some yoga this evening rather than face first into chocolate.
Hope everyone has a motivational Monday.

Notonthestairs · 25/04/2022 08:36

Morning. I struggled against my bad habits this weekend (wine and portion sizes).
But I am starting afresh today. First up a bit of meal planning and then I'm going to have a nosy on some food tracking apps to see what might work for me.

GinnieHempstock · 25/04/2022 08:49

@Notonthestairs I would normally recommend MFP but it's not working properly at the moment- it's been fucked since Saturday. They are working on it but it's yet another of my frustrations on this fine Monday morning.

Notonthestairs · 25/04/2022 08:54

App fails seems to be a bit of a theme at the moment. I've been chucked out of MN repeatedly despite reloading etc. very annoying.

ClaraTheImpossibleGirl · 25/04/2022 11:36

What sort of app are you looking for @Notonthestairs - something like MFP or you can log via Fitbit/ Apple as well? I'm loathing the new MN website and the app still doesn't work for me, hence why I haven't been on here as much Sad I find the website very hard to read - lots of blank space and not as much functionality - and can't post at all ok the app.

I did loads of walking at the weekend only to find that my Fitbit isn't syncing correctly. Pah! Might as well have sat on the sofa and eaten ice cream...

I started the diabetes prevention course but tbh, have done zero so far, just haven't had the time and DP is being an arse (again) - he desperately needs to start eating more healthily (as advised by the GP) and lose at least 5 stone - we went to a supermarket at the weekend and I left him to choose his own packed lunch whilst I got the DC's. His healthy choice was... a steak bake Hmm

ClaraTheImpossibleGirl · 25/04/2022 11:38

Aaargghhh - more website fails - I do hate this new site, keep getting the black screen of doom!!

Other than that, it's AF week, I'm overwhelmed by all the house cleaning and tidying needed and I've had a 'telling off' email at work this morning saying that I shouldn't be doing something which I was only doing to save someone else a job. And not only did they feel the need to tell me off about this, they decided to cc my manager for no particular reason. On top of everything else, that made me have a little cry!

SpreadHummusNotHate · 25/04/2022 12:07

Morning,

Weighed this morning and a couple of lbs off this week which I’m pleased about but the first week is always the easiest - the challenge is keeping motivated 3 or 4 weeks in!

SW: 12st1
CW: 11st13
GW: 11st

Going to try and be sensible during the week as I have dinner out planned for Friday (although I might drive so that’ll cut out the beer calories 🙈)

gonelululemoncrazy · 25/04/2022 12:08

Hi everyone - like some others no loss to report, but taking that as a win (seem to have stopped the rot in not going the other way for the first time in about a month). I succeeded in dramatically reducing weekend wine consumption.

About to go for a lunch time run. Fingers crossed this week will see a loss.

TellMeAboutItStud · 25/04/2022 13:43

I managed to stay on track this week (week 6) and have lost in total 11 pounds - I thought it was less but it turned out my scales were broken! New scales and pleasantly surprised to see I’ve lost more than I thought - although I thought I had because I had gone down a clothes size.
move got 10kg to go, but I’m on a mission now!

breakfast: strawberries and blueberries with Greek yoghurt and a coffee
lunch: spiced roasted carrots and peppers with hummus
dinner: kedgeree with brown rice and sautéed spinach

lots of water

Hi everyone nothing exciting to report just checking in...

Eviebeans · 25/04/2022 14:08

Not quite sure what happened there didn't mean to quote

Bigbus · 25/04/2022 15:46

I’ve also moved my weigh in to Mondays so that it will help me not to throw it all away at the weekends. This is my first week so I have the water loss.

SW 14st 8lbs
CW 14st 3lbs
GW 12st

the next week will be the hardest while I get used to feeling permanently deprived and only losing slowly.

good luck everyone
