My story so far:
I started a thread “Lockdown stones to lose” in early June last year. I had nearly 3 stones to lose and was very determined. At times I did very well and at one point had lost over 1.5 stones.

Loads of people joined and then left and I think only four of us remained at the end. I kept plodding on. Just after Christmas I became ill for seven weeks (Covid related). I couldn’t do much or go out so my weight ballooned. I still kept plodding on. Then one of my dogs suffered an horrendous attack and whilst nursing her I just about lived on chocolate.

So here I am nearly 11 months later, most likely very nearly back to square one. I keep reminding myself that last time I said I would not give up no matter what! Will you join me tomorrow morning? I would love some company.

@BeyondMyWits very happy birthday. Enjoy the celebrations. It looks like I'm celebrating with you 😉

@NellesVilla don't concentrate on how much others have to lose just on your own weight. You might lose 10 stones before I lose 1 st, that can most certainly happen. We are all different ages, frames, have different lifestyles, jobs etc, we are all so different and work at the weight loss in many different ways. We all win and lose this weighloss game at different times.

You might not see a huge difference this summer (but you could if you really worked at it), but think about next summer! If this thread keeps running for a year, as it will if we all keep posting, you could be a different woman by next year, not only outwardly but inside too. I might not have as much to lose as you but I'm failing very often (especially this weekend) but when my mindset clicks in and changes I'll lose again, it is very difficult. My DP can eat anything and everything and he does, he has a huge appetite but remains thin, it's just not fair .

Rubbish weekend diet wise, despite my good weigh in on Friday. I’ve been tired, lethargic and have eaten poorly all weekend. Had a little birthday tea for my ds today and have eaten entirely too much birthday cake (which I don’t even enjoy- it was just there!)

I will get back on it tomorrow I’m sure.

NellesVilla · 15/05/2022 19:17

Thanks, @poorpaws ! ❤️

BeyondMyWits · 15/05/2022 20:32

Thank you for all the birthday wishes. Did not go overboard today, but only because I know I've got a week off work and we will be going here and there eating out a lot this week.

But have got the , much healthier, grocery shopping delivery ordered ready for Friday. Good to have a plan...

Theredjellybean · 15/05/2022 21:07

Feeling so fed up...
Going up and down, not achieved very much in last four weeks... Overall about 1.4 kg down... But had got to 73.0 8 days ago, one bad day and gained 2kgs and now it won't shift.
But I am pressing on.
On day 10 of my new fitness programme, and still aiming for 72.0kg when I go on holiday which is 12 days... Ummmm....

Amdone123 · 16/05/2022 05:21

@Theredjellybean , you can do it. Don't be so hard on yourself - you're trying and that's all you can do. You haven't given up completely - keep going.
It's not easy when you derail, but I've learnt to just accept it. I'm an angel through the week - walks, gym, water, eating properly. Come the weekend I'm terrible. This weekend, I've been out Fri, sat and Sunday night. I've enjoyed myself though.
I'm back on it tomorrow ( Tuesday). No point saying Monday as I know I'll be hungry / tired.

PutYourBackIntoit · 16/05/2022 07:14

Well, I've been pretty pleased with my 'performance'. I did 3 days during the week of less than 500 calories, and the rest of the week was under 1500 calories (apart from Saturday - eurovision) and I've weighed myself this morning and have put on half a kilo.

I will keep at it, I really need to shift all the weight from my belly.

However, feeling a bit glum. I thought it was supposed to fall off when you've got tons to lose initially?? 😕

Theredjellybean · 16/05/2022 07:17

@PutYourBackIntoit
Sympathy...it is just so demoralising.

ClinkeyMonkey · 16/05/2022 07:44

Finally! Like an old steam roller that's finally cranked into reverse, I have lost weight since I joined this board. 2lbs off. First weigh in I maintained, second I put on, now I've finally lost. I was beginning to despair. In real terms, I've lost 1lb, not 2, but I'm so blooming relieved!

It's miserably wet here today, but I'm going to get the oul rain jacket on and attempt a run after school drop off.

@PutYourBackIntoit It sounds as though you are doing all the right things. Your body will catch up with your brain. Don't let it get you down.

gonelululemoncrazy · 16/05/2022 07:45

Good morning everyone. Yes - I actually lost 1lb (I think it would have been 2 if it wasn't for Eurovision).

poorpaws · 16/05/2022 07:55

Good morning everyone

How are you all on this wet Monday morning?

It looks as though I am now 1 lb heavier than when I started this thread . It's just not good and I am really struggling. I must try harder but tomorrow evening I have a meal out so that won't be easy .

I hope everyone else is managing to lose, even if it's just a little.

Good luck with Monday weigh-ins.

Very well done @gonelululemoncrazy and @ClinkeyMonkey. Keep at it (says she who is failing miserably).

H1Drangea · 16/05/2022 08:43

Good morning @poorpaws

I have weighed in , and put on 2 lb , still 3 down on starting weight though
not surprised at all at the gain ( looks at empty wine bottles piled up ) we had grown up DD here for the weekend , so I’ll blame her !

I need to catch up on reading thread , and may well start boring people by putting food photos up if I have something worth sharing 👍

We have lettuce in the greenhouse , so I’m hoping the Welsh weather starts being nice again , as salad will be on the menu for lunch going forward
I need to make a nice list for Tesco , as the cupboards are bare crosses wine off list and listens to yet more rain

Amdone123 · 16/05/2022 09:46

@H1Drangea , 🤣. I think we were separated at birth. I got up in the middle of the night and tripped up over a bottle of wine. Wine is definitely my problem. I'm a tad hungover today too, so diet is out the window.
I'll get back on it tomorrow. When I'm doing it (and not drinking!), I can do it.
@PutYourBackIntoit , can I ask, when you do 500cals, do you get headaches?

Minimalme · 16/05/2022 11:10

Morning @poorpaws and everyone else!

I have been absent because after a great start, I have been hitting the jelly beans hard and was just piling in the weight.

I have reigned myself back in and lost the four pounds I put back on Hmm

CanadianJohn · 16/05/2022 13:11

Sigh, I'm getting nowhere. Story of my life.
Apr 18 ... 12.10 (178 lbs)
Apr 25 ... 12.9 (177 lbs)
May 2 ... 12.9 (177 lbs)
May 9 ... 12.9½ (177½ lbs)
May 16 ...12.9 (177 lbs)
Goal: 10.10 (150 lbs)

Amdone123 · 16/05/2022 13:18

@CanadianJohn , what plan do you follow ? Do you exercise, etc.
I

TellMeAboutItStud · 16/05/2022 13:44

My weight is still stalling which is really demoralising - I can’t really cut any more calories because I’m already at 1200 a day and I’m as active as I can possibly be with the time constraints of two young kids to look after and limited childcare. It’s hard to carry on when the numbers just stop moving.

CanadianJohn · 16/05/2022 14:06

Amdone123 · 16/05/2022 13:18

@CanadianJohn , what plan do you follow ? Do you exercise, etc.
I

Exercise is problematic - my back is so messed up (medical term) that some days I can hadly stand. I walk very slowly, with a cane, up and down the block. I wouldn't call it exercise. I'm gonna see if I can find some "chair exercises".

As for food, I just eat the normal stuff, trying to watch sugar and carbs. I'm a big believer in 'calories in/calories out'. The problem really is that I am so inactive. I'm wondering how much longer I'm going to be able to look after the house.

My wife is even less active than I, but lives on coffee (with cream and sugar) and cigarettes. She eats very little, it's quite concerning.

BeyondMyWits · 16/05/2022 17:43

A bit of a pound off this week. The scales are doing the electronic wobble between 16-0 and 16-1 depending where I stand. So going for 16st 0.5lb... half pound loss...

I want to be 15 something soooooo badly... but looking back, I only started this on 23rd April at 16-5... so 4.5lb down, 1.5 a week, not too shabby. (Desperately trying to motivate myself!)

Mumstheword2022 · 16/05/2022 18:00

Hey everyone x

bwck in it after a demoralising week or so and am at kettlebells class after managing to exist on only 400 cals so far today and ha jbv ‘reset’ myself if you know what I mean.

two weeks and four pounds -please!!

Mumstheword2022 · 16/05/2022 19:02

Sorry for the dreadful typos! Literally had my weight mitts on 🤣. I expect you get the gist.

almost 450 cals burner at kettles though so worth the pain !

TimeToLose8 · 16/05/2022 19:11

Well after book club last night I am 1.6 lbs heavier than yesterday, which is depressing.

Also embarrassed.....this chickens are now safely ensconced in their run. They were still working out how to climb the ramp back into the coop. So far I have only named 1 of them - the Runner. At the end of book club I was showing a friend round the coop, and found that all but one had actually got back up the ramp. The one left was the runner. So I chased her around, fell over, grazed most of my arm, and felt highly embarrassed. I blame the wine.

A new week starts, let's hope healthy eating and no wine reverses my gains...

Amdone123 · 16/05/2022 19:29

@BeyondMyWits , you're doing well. 1.5lbs / 2lbs a week is great going.
You could be 15st something next week. Keep going.
