I'm taking lots of meter reading today... gas, electricity , waist, hips and scales Grin
I'm going to try and live a better & greener, less wasteful spring/ summer. Less petrol, less sugar and try to drink lots of water. I'm not going to obsess about steps, I'm going to do more hula hooping and some tummy crunches etc
There, I've written it down.
My box of 48 Cadbury Creme eggs for my big birthday is almost done - just three left. It's a sign.

Hartleyhare1206 · 20/05/2022 13:35

@Mum5net I never saw this message im
sorry!
How are you doing?
i had a very disastrous couple of months where literally everyone in my house has taken it in turns to be ill none stop - even the dog! I’ve either been too poorly or two exhausted from looking after poorly people to focus 😩😩😩
But no more excuses! I’m back on it - to both I do the damage and shift another 1/2 stone besides.
started last weekend so if you’re still around and want a slimming buddy I’ll report back with my weight loss update 😬
Happy Hoola-Hooping!!! X

Fab to be back in touch. Really sorry to hear everyone's been sick. Really no fun at all when there is a spate of disasters one after the other, and then, trust the dog to get in on it. It is hard to focus when you are running to keep up with the basics.
Much the same here. It's been helping extended family members do up their houses to sell and then pack up. Some hiccups with the elderlies and supporting both DC from 300+ away. But I have no excuse. I just keep raiding the fridge

I started again on Monday and was 65 kg. That's a kilo a month since January. Today I am 64.6 so not much progress but I've not had chocolate or white bread for five days. Can't fit into all my clothes.

Hartleyhare1206 · 20/05/2022 14:10

@Mum5net do we not get notifications now or something? I used to get one if there was a reply but now don’t? What a pain! At least I know to check back now I guess!
Great to hear from you!
Sounds like you’ve been in the thick of a very busy spell - hope you’re managing to get time for yourself too?
Funny how we both decided to get back on it at the same time! It’s clearly meant to be!
Sounds like you’re off to a great start and giving your willpower muscles a great flex - well done!!

@Hartleyhare1206 It's made my day that you are back at it as well - stronger together.Grin Now for a miserable no -beer or chocolate weekend Grin Grin

Hartleyhare1206 · 20/05/2022 14:34

Awww @Mum5net 😍😍
I suddenly feel much better about re-starting now I know we are in it together!
Not sure about this chocolate free weekend nonsense you’re spouting though 😂😂

OP posts:
Hartleyhare1206 · 21/05/2022 10:28

@Mum5net 4lbs off! 🥳🥳🥳

I know it’s week 1 so mainly water and not actual fat, but it’s really motivational to have seen the numbers properly going down and will help keep me on the straight and narrow.

off to celebrate with a coffee with skimmed milk and some fat free Greek yogurt with strawberry’s.

I know; I’m such a wild child 🙄🤣

OP posts:
Mum5net · 21/05/2022 13:53

Woot toot! 4lbs is fab you devil. Having skinny fun will soon be our lives if we just keep this pace up. 😉

Hartleyhare1206 · 21/05/2022 17:24

@Mum5net 😂😂😂
problem is I think it might all go tits up over the jubilee weekend….

OP posts:
Mum5net · 21/05/2022 18:36

@Hartleyhare1206 my jubilee weekend not looking v exciting. DH and I are laying a new floor in DC1s room as part of our three year plan to sell up and downsize. (Left over from friend’s renovation so free to us) and then on one of the days I’ve promised my DSis I’ll clean up a flat after students move out. So loads of aerobic exercise. Transport so chaotic my DC not chancing travelling home. Would take min six hours there and sane back so not fair on them

Hartleyhare1206 · 21/05/2022 18:39

Ooof @Mum5net that does sound like hard, calorie burning graft. Maybe I should come and give you a hand?! I can burn calories and not stuff my face!

Can see why journey not feasible for DCs, they’d spend most of the long weekend trying to travel by the sounds of it x

Mum5net · 23/05/2022 15:11

@Hartleyhare1206 Weighed in at 64.8 kg which was a bit sad. No bread in the house. At all. Been eating sweet potato crackers and an orange. Have decided tonight's dinner is pea soup. Lots and lots of pea soup. Plus two oranges. Hope you are doing better.

Hartleyhare1206 · 23/05/2022 16:18

The orange and pea soup diet 🥴
I’ve just had a slice of strawberry tart 🤦‍♀️ Was in a social situation and I couldn’t say no. Think that’s my biggest downfall. I’m fine at home but really struggle when I’m out or other people being treats to work etc

OP posts:
Mum5net · 26/05/2022 11:30

@Hartleyhare1206
Hope you are being as good as you were last week
Constantly irritated that I am 5 kg heavier than in January
Have cut out sweets and chocolate but it's not coming off
Have averaged 18k steps this week so far but doesn't seem to make a difference
Need to be patient

Hartleyhare1206 · 26/05/2022 13:56

At least you weigh in KG @Mum5net it sounds less that way 😂
keep going - you’re doing so well! I reckon you’ll
have a surge and have a big drop - rather than lose a bit at a time you’ll lose a chunk in one go.
18k steps is fab - I haven’t managed more than 14k so far this week. Will weigh on Saturday and report back x

OP posts:
Hartleyhare1206 · 28/05/2022 10:29

@Mum5net morning! Happy Saturday! Hope you have a lovely day planned?

1.4lbs off for me today which I’m very pleased about, as yesterday involved a huge slice of chocolate birthday cake! It’s DF birthday today so will be more cake and dinner out tonight but hoping not to derail things too much x

OP posts:
Hartleyhare1206 · 29/05/2022 14:33

Ok, I derailed things too much… (shuffles fat ass off to the naughty step😳😳😳)

OP posts:
Mum5net · 30/05/2022 10:04

Oh no @Hartleyhare1206 I'm sorry to hear about your Sunday derailment after the very good Saturday. Got caught up myself. Hosted a birthday bash for a temporarily homeless relative which included my personal bottle of Prosecco and a whole loaf of bread and masses of chocolate.
Today's weigh in was a 64.2kg. So to be honest we are on that step together. All my good work undone. So upset that I had to go and buy a pair of bigger size jeans yesterday as I have chafed holes in all my others. I have so many lovely ones , one size smaller which fitted me at Xmas all lying unworn.

Trying again. Did get my weekly average steps up to 17.7 k so one minor victory.
We must do better.

Mum5net · 09/06/2022 09:34

How are you @Hartleyhare1206 ?
Doing a tiny bit better but not fab. Weighed in today at 64.1 kg. Two weeks to go down 0.1 kg Grin Another graduation planned for Aug 25 so I have a target date. Banned white flour and chocolate again. Steps are around 16k.

Hartleyhare1206 · 09/06/2022 13:04

@Mum5net arghh I didn’t get notifications again! So sorry! Wasn’t ignoring you, honest 🤦‍♀️
You’re heading in the right direction and seem very focused! Not sure how I’d cope without white flour and choc though 🙈 bit of a gain during half term for me - lots of loveliness was planned and all came together food wise. Still, onwards and upwards and all that. Or should that say downwards….

OP posts:
Mum5net · 09/06/2022 14:09

Haha @Hartleyhare1206 Im not focused I’m kidding myself
Have you got a holiday to look forward to? That always concentrated the mind.
New floor in Bedroom 2 looks good but when we shifted the wardrobe we both felt our age

Hartleyhare1206 · 12/06/2022 08:16

a uk break at the end of August - but yes, actually that’s a rocket up my rather large arse to keep going so I don’t feel like a beached whale when I’m there!
How about you? Anymore jaunts on the horizon?
DIY is hard work isn’t it? We have just finished refreshing our kitchen and it certainly felt like a good work out. New flooring going down in a few weeks here too - chose the tiles yesterday which was fun, although disappointing for my 5 year old who was determined I should have a yellow and purple floor, and I had the sheer audacity to ignore her 😃😃

OP posts:
Mum5net · 15/06/2022 23:14

@Hartleyhare1206 very little progress being made here but still trying
Hovering at same kg
we don’t even have the hot temperatures in my part of the uk to sweat it off
hope you faring better

Mum5net · 20/06/2022 11:18

Tiny break through. Now at 63.3kg.
Roller coaster of a last week.

Hoping for a calm week here.
So fed up with our weather so even if I could fit into my summer gear I couldn't wear it for the non stop rain
Have deleted all my games apps on my phone to make me be less sedentry
@Hartleyhare1206 I hope you and yours are doing fine and have more sunshine.
Back to 16:8 for eating windows and again no bread or sugar. See how long that lasts.

Hartleyhare1206 · 20/06/2022 12:05

Hey@Mum5net !
Good to hear from you - sorry to hear about your rollercoaster week - are you ok??
it was very warm here at the end of last week, cold and wet over the weekend and now back to being warm again! Tried on a size 14 jumpsuit I was wary of attempting and expecting to fit/look awful but it’s actually loose so I’m feeling ok about life today 😂😂 didn’t weigh at the weekend as it was very busy and sleep deprived and I totally forgot about it 🤦‍♀️ Will just leave it until next weekend rather than bother now. Will report back x
