I am really down right now about the way I look and would love to share my joys/lows with others - speak soon x

yes it's huge cos I'm such a heffer

26 points per day!!! That's without putting in my exercsie stuff. I am about to get of my fat arse and do the Davina workout dvd I bought over a week ago that is still in it's wrapper. Also will play badminton for a couple of hours tonight - that should shift some flab

I've worked out what I'm eating today and it's only 21. Website is easy to use - I am quite impressed.

Any words of wisdom for someone new to this points thingy?

Dixichik · 14/01/2008 14:49

Well I am keeping track of inch loss instead of weight loss because I have a phobia of scales......
Well this morning I can do up my jeans without breathing in, and I don't have such a large muffin top. So I guess thats a result. Only one month to Valentines (first night out with dp in months and months). I will get in that dress! (Even if I have to enlist the help of Trinny and Suzannah )

nimnom · 14/01/2008 15:06

Everyone's weightloss is fantastic - 9 1/4lb caykon - that's amazing.
I've just signed up for tapdancing tomorrow afternoon - thought it might be a good laugh and something a bit different to keep up the exercise levels. Hopefully ds2 will sit quietly in his buggy while I'm there.

happymumathome · 14/01/2008 16:49

Just weighed myself 6lb off yeay I am so happy
If feels so good to be going down not up at last, mind you will have to be very careful later as it's Dp s birthday and we are going out for dinner, I will have to limit the wine to stop the post wine eating disorder that is not unknown in these parts.....

VeniVidiVickiQV · 14/01/2008 17:07

It is good, isnt it SC?

Tips - erm, dont buy chocolate or cakes next time you go shopping be strong.

Seriously - it helps if you can add a food you eat often/several times a day as a favourite to save searching every time. You can just drag and drop it into your daily diary.

Also, it's worth remembering that soft drinks are all worth points (a mistake I made the other day!), so it's worth either having water all the time, or diet versions of lemonade/cola.

VeniVidiVickiQV · 14/01/2008 17:08

Everyone has done so well this week

silkcushion · 14/01/2008 17:36

I drink diet coke, water, black coffee and herbal teas - I guess they must all be point free.

I have walked to the shops this afternoon and bought loads of salad stuff, chopped it all up and put in in plastic bags in the fridge ready to bung together quickly when needed. No excuses eh?

Veyr impressed with all these weight losses - well done ladies

loler · 14/01/2008 17:41

sc - I look at all the free food and buy lots of that (dc you WILL like pickled red cabbage). Don't assume you know the points for a while - got caught out with grapes and peas!

have had really bad day and had 2 chocolate cakes (homemade so as not in book I'm assuming the have no points!) - blaming it on terrible 2 year old ds (anyone want one of those, any good home condidered?).

Off to clean black biro from cream kitchen cupboards........

VeniVidiVickiQV · 14/01/2008 18:03

Beetroot is an ace, zero point food.

silkcushion · 14/01/2008 19:23

I checked grapes out cos it seems all other fruit has points. Veg seems to be zero - other than peas. off to check carrots out.

Have found a fab thing for dinner in our local co op. An apricot and fennel tagine (moroccan fruity sauce). ww says half a pack of sauce is 2 points, chuck in a chicken breast and some couscous and I've got a lovely meal for 7.5 points I think (the side salad will all be free). Just hope I like it when's it cooked - smells scrummy.

Loler sorry you've had a bad day. Am dreading when dd becomes a toddler - at least she stays in whichever place I out her at the moment!

Did my Davina DVD - well, did the warm up and the aerobices section and was exhausted. Thankfully dd woke up crying for food and I had to stop.

Will do yogalates tonight instead of badminton as it looks like I won't get there in time cos dh is late home (just left late tonight not stuck in a snow drift)

silkcushion · 14/01/2008 19:24

sorry about typos

colditz · 14/01/2008 19:50

All fruit has points, apart from salad fruits like pepper sna dtomatoes

moodlumthehoodlum · 14/01/2008 20:24

Ladies ladies congratulations!! Great weight losses all round - well done. I am in awe and feel very bad and fat for eating so much at the weekend. Done OK today apart from Spag Bol just now with pretty fatty mince, it seemed.

Well done everyone though. Its very inspiring and tomorrow is another day (I think I weighed myself last Wednesday, so we'll see..) and I'm starting Yoga for the first time in a million years, so water and salad all day for me!

glitterkitty · 14/01/2008 20:41

Just weighed myself- lost 2lb! which is great considering I have lapsed a few times. Im so jealous of those who have lost loads- you must have worked really hard, well done!

Am cooking beetroot tonight yum. Have just eaten large salad as I couldnt wait to have them together- oh and I have baby rice cakes with no sugar, apple and cinnamon flavour, which I have stolen from ds. My need is greater than his, he can have a jaffa cake or something....

VeniVidiVickiQV · 14/01/2008 20:49

Well, having not eaten properly today (tomato cup a soup 0.5 points, one breadstick 0.5 points, milk in tea 1 point)

I'm going to end the day on take-away pizza

But, I do have 21 points to use!!!! Very norty I know, but, I am confident that I will be able to make up for it the rest of the week, and I am pretty good at stopping when I'm full now so we'll see........

ChipButty · 14/01/2008 21:02

I am doing the no diet diet! When I first started dieting (aged 14!) I weighed 12 stone. At age almost 38 I now weigh 18st 11lb! My aim is to exercise and to eat what I want but only at meal times. No munchies when the kids are in bed. See you all next week to let you know how it's gone!

colditz · 14/01/2008 22:35

i have just cleared up a massive plate of noodles, salmon, mayonaise and cucumber, because I got to 10 pm with only 13 monts .... and I already have 18 saved this week!

And I am going to have a highlights hot choc now, then bed. Hurrah.

Weigh in tomorrow, wish me luck, I hope I've lost 4 stone [cloud cuckoo land]

seriously, I just hope I've dropped below 14 stone for the first time in 4 years.

Eddas · 15/01/2008 07:36

Brilliant weight losses everyone, even staying the same or a very small loss is great as it's not putting on anymore.

Ooo and don't forget that at the time of the month you will probably not lose weight and may even gain a pound or two. Just thought it was worth mentioning

well, day one went well for me. Diner wasn't to diety but I only had fruit and fibre, marmite on wholemeal toast(2 slices) a banana and then diner(chicken kiev(garlic), a quorn sausage, chips(oven!) and beans. Can you tell we're low on food) so all in all a pretty good day! Oh and drinks were water and tea with a sweetner instead of sugar.

Having a day eating like that really does prove that I don't need all the choc/crisps etc tht I normally have and I feel much less bloated.

Really really hope I can keep it up this time as normally after a few days/weeks I give up and buy tesco chocolate isle to eat which kinda blows the diet

I did diet in sept/oct and lost a stone of baby weight and have kept it off so that is my inspiration. Plus i'd like to not be the 'fat' one when I go out with my friends they don't say it, it's just how i feel.

Anyway sorry for the self induldged waffle

Hope everyone has a great diet day!

lilibet · 15/01/2008 08:53

Congrats to all who lost or stayed the same with their weigh ins yesterday.

Are we having a rolling list?

I started yesterday.

I never tell anyone apart from dh that I'm on a diet as I hate people knowing that I am bothered about my weight, so at lunch time a colleague bought me a cake

Decided to count it into my calorie allowance as it would be rude not to eat it

so out of my 11,000 calories for the week I have used 1503 and I did 9200 steps.

silkcushion · 15/01/2008 09:07

am loving the ww points system - v easy so far (ok only day 2)

Urgh...!

Well, I certainly feel pants this morning. I didnt realise how eating the way I was, pre-diet, was making me feel so bad!

The pizza last night has left me bloated, with indigestion (and sicky burps bleurgh), and feeling really tired.

That is DEFINITELY incentive enough to not blow out again.

Have had just a banana this morning - I dont feel I have room yet for anything else

I also had a sneaky step onto the scales to double check I hadnt entirely reversed my weightloss for last week with last nights gorging (I know, very silly of me) but it seems I've dropped another 2lb (although early morning I would expect a difference to my weighing at the end of the day)....

I'm sorry, I'm waffling on.....

I dont mind rolling lists lilibet - but i cant be arsed to do it

Eddas · 15/01/2008 10:54

vvqv, i know what you mean about eating/bloated feeling. That's exactly what i found when I started to diet in sept/oct. I felt so much less bloated. Hadn't realised i was before the diet. Also, i'm hoping it'll improve my moods as have been reading that chocolate can increase depression. Not that I'm depressed but I get down alot IYSWIM and I eat ALOT of choclate Well I did

I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO hungry. I know I should eat/drink some water, BUT I am having lunch at 11.30 as have to go to work at 11.45 so want to eat first and avoid the bakery below work temptation. Tis so cruel working above it. The smell wafts in the summer

mammyjo · 15/01/2008 11:17

Hello! I need to lose much more than 3 stone , but joined weight watchers last Monday in a final attempt to shift it. Weighed in last night and have lost 5lbs!!
I am very very pleased with myself as you can probably guess! Hope my willpower can hold out this time. I always do really well for the first few weeks, then it all goes down the drain.

Looking forward to getting to know you all, during what will be a very long journey (for me at least).

Eddas · 15/01/2008 11:22

Well done mj, that's brilliant Glad you found the thread
