Need to cut out the alcohol, crisps, cheese and chocolate (not totally) .

I would love some company. Will try to log on everyday to keep up with anyone who joins me but I do work full time so please dont be cross if I dont reply quickly!!!

I am really down right now about the way I look and would love to share my joys/lows with others - speak soon x

WW says I need to lose 51/2 stone to be at the top end of their height, weight thing. Not sure I could ever get to that. I would be really happy if I could shift maybe 4 stone.

mammyjo · 15/01/2008 12:26

Wow Fio, cant believe that lady lost 14 stone! That is inspirational I guess!!

VeniVidiVickiQV · 15/01/2008 13:07

mammyjo - it said I needed to lose 6st 4lb! I dont think I need to lose that much. I'm aiming for 4 stone as well

Just had a cup a soup (1 point), a slice of wholemeal bread and butter (1.5 points), and a few peppadew peppers (0 points )

Peppadew peppers are absolutely gorgeous. They are sweet but with a little bit of heat at the same time.

I've heard that chillies can help speed up your metabolism so maybe this will give it a teeny nudge

VeniVidiVickiQV · 15/01/2008 13:07

Forgot to ask - are you going to go to regular meetings and weigh-ins now Fio?

No, I'm doing mine all online. More convenient for me - especially with the meal tracking.

When i get home from work i'm going to dig out my ww book and see what it tells me to lose. I think i said but i've checked a website re my BMI and was a bit I rememebr doing the same thing in sept and it said i was obese. Apparently i'm now only overweight But my main point is i'm sure in sept I had to get to a smaller weight than it now says. I think before it was telling me the lowest weight and now possibly the highest Not sure. Did that make any sense

Those charts are ridiculous anyway. My dh would never get to his ideal weight. He trained a lot back in 2000 and ran the London marathon, was lean for him and still was heavier than he 'should be' madness!

VeniVidiVickiQV · 15/01/2008 14:57

It's an online diary. I enter what I've eaten (some of it does involve a bit of searching, or, entering of information ie kcals, sat fat etc), but it records it in "breakfast" "lunch" "dinner" or "anytime". It automatically calculates your points usage, and you also enter your activity points for the day too. It then tallies it all up, and you can save your points over the period of a week.

VERY helpful for useless fecks like me

I've actually bought a Claire Sweeney WW Perfect Fit DVD. It arrived today. It looks quite good actually. Got it off ebay for just a few quid. £2.99 plus £1.49 shipping). I've had a look at the routines and there are quite a few, and you can do it for length of time, or type of exercise.

Worth a look ladies if you ask me.

silkcushion · 15/01/2008 16:01

Eddas - lucky you at being only overweight damn sure I'm obese.
VVV - how many points do you get per day? cos you hardly seem to be eating them

moodlumthehoodlum · 15/01/2008 16:11

Hello all, sounds like everyone is doing really well.

My own weigh in day is tomorrow. Have decided that I am going to be strict about WW points (altho I'm not actually going to the meetings) and my lovely friend has brought me replacement cardboard calorie counter thingie, so I have no excuse.

My GP says that the whole body mass index is completely skewed and misleading. That said, I think I would fit in the obese category, so I think there is room to lose at least some weight!! I would be happy at 11 stone (and surprised to be honest), so that gives me two stone to lose.

Am very hungry.

PerkinWarbeck · 15/01/2008 16:19

hey everyone -

all you WW ladies seem to be doing really well. congrats to all for you losses.
I have eliminated snacks other than oatcakes with jam, and fruit.
Current issue is eating out. I've been popping out for lunch a lot, as DH is away and I need the company (blardy childless friends don't want to meet at the playground for some reason). So yesterday's lunch was lahmacun, and today's a sausage sandwich .

I'll just have soup tonight .

BTW - does anyone want my Beverley Callard fitness Dvd? I know the woman is terrible, but it was found to be the most effective when Channel 4 road tested all the celeb workouts.

I've never tried it (not a fitness DVD person after all), so if anyone does fancy it it's free for postage.

lilibet · 15/01/2008 17:04

If anyone is thinking of joining WW online you can get £15 back through quidco.

Sorry to those of you who have already done it

I'm starving

But I must get out of the habit of eating every time I am hungry, it's an hour before tea I'm supposed to be starving, I am not supposed to be eating 5 slices of bread and butter while I make tea!!

silkcushion · 15/01/2008 17:45

I can honestly say I'm not hungry. Couldn't finish my meal - can't remember when that last happened.

It's either the ww thing or these patches I bought at tesco that help food cravings

colditz · 15/01/2008 18:14

WEIGH IN TODAY AND I HAVE LOST 5 AND A HALF POUNDS! WOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!

moodlumthehoodlum · 15/01/2008 18:17

Wish me luck. I'm going to YOGA tonight. I am the person least likely to turn into a Yoga bunny, but it is free, and apparently it does help you get fit and lose weight. Its pouring with rain and I don't want to go. But, if I'm doing Yoga I can't be eating, so it must be good!

moodlumthehoodlum · 15/01/2008 18:18

Woweeee colditz thats amazing and brilliant! Careful - you'll waste away

Excellent news colditz!

Eddas - i get 24 points per day. I've been filling up on salad type stuff which are no points - or soup or fruit which are low points.

I probably ought to up my intake a bit to use up the points though.

UniversallyChallenged · 15/01/2008 19:38

Well done Colditz - is that WW too?

VVVQV - can you give me some idea of what say a mars bar is point wise? So i can work out how many points i would have to save to have one bar of something a day. Thanks

Am hoping to borrow a friends WW stuff to see if i could cope with it

VeniVidiVickiQV · 15/01/2008 19:54

A standard mars bar is 5.5 points. Saving points is definitely a motivation point, isnt it? Why dont you sign up for the weeks free trial UC?

I'm having a WW sweet and sour jar with some chicken and rice tonight - 6 points.

UniversallyChallenged · 15/01/2008 22:05

Thanks VVVQV, that kind of gives me a ball park figure as to what i can have.
Will look at my friends WW stuff - she has lost 3.5 stone as i think i will try that and the free week
