I am really down right now about the way I look and would love to share my joys/lows with others - speak soon x

araucaria · 01/02/2008 09:24

Ags telepathic food love it!

Well done Colditz
Stick with us Moodlum - don't feel you are letting the 'side' down fgs! When would you have to go back to work? I am supposed to go back end of march - makes me sick to think of it to be frank.

Bit peed off here - DH when out with work and did not come home last night Got drunk and slept on a mates floor - he is 40 ffs

Anyhow normally I would have eaten (who else said they eat when they are angry?) but I am going to rise above it might go shopping instead to cheer myself up < not so saintly emoticon>

dd's would go to bed i would have 2 x crips, 2 x kitkat etc etc... but after my dinner i have been having nothing......> so why no loss?

I am on period > would that make a difference?

has anyone tried the new WW pasta sauces (bogof in morrisons atm) i bought the mince one as i will use half to add courgettes, pepper, and mushrooms to and have with pasta>>>> makes a really lovely dinner ....

well done everyone > i feel as a group we are doing great, and i really feel i can do it this time!!!!

loler · 01/02/2008 10:24

chocolate - AF can cause water retention - so you should have a really good loss next week!

Pelafina - read some where "9 months on 9 months off!". Just wait until your lo starts moving - I found I lost weight much quicker then. My body has never sprung back though - more just deflated like a balloon!

mammyjo · 01/02/2008 10:55

Dont lose heart moodlum, 5lb is great!

Have just made a batch of the meatballs that someone posted on here the other day. They smell fab. Will be out most of the day so I will only need to cook some pasta later.

Have a good day everyone

VeniVidiVetoQV · 01/02/2008 10:58

When I had DD I lost the actual weight very quickly (within a few weeks) - but my stomach took at least 6 months to go back to 'normal'. As far as normal could be after you've had a baby.

Have had a banana and a pear for breakfast. Have DD home with me today because she's a little under the weather. Spent half the night camping out in her bed. I'm shattered. DS is like a whirling dervish too this morning. Haven't felt like binging though which is good I suppose.

silkcushion · 01/02/2008 17:15

well done all on your good days so far. ARau - I am the angry eater!

Have got 10.5 pts left for dinner tonight but struggling cos I can't be bothered to cook anything (what a lazy wotsit)

Someone kick me up the arse please

mammyjo · 01/02/2008 18:37

Have you got anything that doesnt really need cooking. I like couscous with a bit of ham and some cheese sprinkled over the top. Basic and plain, but yummy and virtually no effort whatsoever!

VeniVidiVetoQV · 01/02/2008 18:52

I've had houmous and toast for lunch - I had bare cupboards

HAd a banana and BGTY maple cereal bar with a cuppa earlier, and just made some fairy cakes with the DC and have had one. Plain fairy cakes are only 1 or 1.5 points, suprisingly!

I've got 13.5 points for dinner. Am going to have a bacon roll for dinner I think.

mammyjo · 01/02/2008 19:19

Bacon roll sounds lovely!

Ags · 02/02/2008 01:07

Chocolate, bloody AF again causing problems! I've got mine at the moment so will be interesting to see how Monday weigh in goes!

Had friends here tonight for dinner and cooked a massive Mexican meal, enchiladas, burritos, rice, salad, dips, tortillas. It was scrumptious but I am so proud of myself. I counted out what I could have in advance (only 1 enchilda, 150g Rice and Salad) and stuck to it! I really feel proud as I have never ever done that in my entire life! I included a Gu brownie and a scoop of ice cream in my calculations. But horror, when I went to the fridge the brownies weren't there. Thought they may have been dropped in the boot of the car so checked my receipt and I didn't buy them in the first place! I was gutted but it meant that I was even better than I thought I was! Do you think my subconscious is finally telling me to avoid these bad foods instead of embracing them?! Wouldn't that be wonderful.

silkcushion · 02/02/2008 07:25

Well done Ags - amazing self control - I'd have shoved loads in. Definitely yr subconscious preventing you from scoffing yummy puds!

It's chinese takeaway for fil birthday tonight. Got 12 pts saved - can't keep more it would seem. Do I go almost point free for the rest of the day ie only salad veg for lunch? or will that make me hungrier and more prone to leaping head first off the wagon into a sticky pile of deep fried deliciousness? could eat a ww bacon, leek and cheese quiche - 6 pts but worth it.

Bought some of the tesco light choices jacket potatoes with cheese or chilli last night. Have bunged them in the freezer - thought I could take them for lunch when I return to work - 3 or 3.5 pts each. For days when I can't be bothered to prepare for the next morning.

Ate ham, egg and oven chips last night - not as high in points as you'd think and very tasty and felt a bit naughty!

Eddas · 02/02/2008 08:36

araucaria · 02/02/2008 11:39

Thats what I keep hoping Pelafina! Well done re the 2 lbs - you sound so much happier too

Eddas - great news!

My news: For the first time in nearly a year I AM NOT WEARING ANY MATERNITY CLOTHES TODAY!!!!!!

SannaG · 02/02/2008 13:49

So excited I have lost 3lbs this week but it is the weekend and that is my problem as we always eat out on a Saturday night. I will have just main course though, no starter or pud for me
You are all giving me great inspiration, thanks.
Ps did you know plain popcorn a fab thing for the evening munchies has little fat and calories

UniversallyChallenged · 02/02/2008 15:32

Well done all, so good to hear your weight losses. It really helps to keep me focused. Keep 'em coming

colditz · 02/02/2008 20:32

I did something nice with pasta and broccoli tonight.

60g Extra Light Morrisons Garlic and Herb soft cheese
40g pasta (dry weight)
Broccoli
150ml skimmed milk
1 finely chopped and steamed onion
2 garlic cloves
ground black pepper
salt

Cook the broccoli and pasta, and set aside. Steam onions and garlic in a saucepan, add milk and soft cheese and salt and pepper. Stir until smooth.

Chop the broccoli and mix in the cheese and onion mix and the pasta. Serve.

3.5 points.

VeniVidiVetoQV · 02/02/2008 21:36

Well done eveyrone

I had a delicious dinner cooked by mum mum tonight as a thank you for DH fixing her toilet.

It was delicious chicken breast fillets with butternut squash and sweet potato, red onion and some red pepper pesto. Absolutely gorgeous. Served with roasted baby new potatoes. Roast potatoes a very norty 6 points, but, the whole meal, with peas was 12.5 points ! Not as bad as I thought it was going to be. AND i declined the chocolate pudding!!!!

silkcushion · 02/02/2008 22:31

Colditz - I'm going to try that.

VVV - well done on resisting the choccie pud

Chinese update - they ordered the food before we got there so I couldn't choose a lesser points alternative. But I limited prawn crackers, avoided the deep fried stuff (well had half a smidgen of crispy shredded beef), no fried rice (outrageously high in points) and had lots of veggies from the chicken in black bean sauce and bamboo shoots and water chesnuts.
Difficult to calculate accurately but I think I ate maybe 18/20 points (I had 25 to eat) and that includes the crunchie dh and I shared on the way home

VeniVidiVetoQV · 02/02/2008 22:52

oh excellent SC

It's excellent to be able to exercise self control sometimes.

PerkinWarbeck · 03/02/2008 11:02

Hi everyone!

Glad you're feeling better Pelafina.

Silkcushion and AGs - I am very impressed with your self-discipline.

I've been reasonably ok this week - still eating too much generally at mealtimes, but haven't been snacking anything like as much as I normally do.

Just making koftas, tabbouleh and pittas while DD and DH are out swimming. I know I should go along with them, but I really can't stand swimming. Never have. So i guess i'll take DD for a high speed buggy ride this afternoon instead. see you all for the weigh in tomorrow .
