would anyone like to join me. I am going to start on Monday.

I am not joining any clubs but will be loosely following WW.

Need to cut out the alcohol, crisps, cheese and chocolate (not totally) .

I would love some company. Will try to log on everyday to keep up with anyone who joins me but I do work full time so please dont be cross if I dont reply quickly!!!

I am really down right now about the way I look and would love to share my joys/lows with others - speak soon x

takeaway pizza has made an appearance again this evening. Dh's turn to cook.......

Oh well - -5 down on the week, with 5 days of the week left. I'm sure I can claw it back.

Also on the plus side - I didnt stuff the lot this time - I finished when I was full (leaving two whole slices of pizza - unheard of!).

Going to do some craft-type things now to keep my hands busy. MN is very 'quiet' this evening.....

silkcushion · 29/01/2008 23:48

evening all - just popping in to check on the losers lurking on this thread

Well done everyone - am at 6.5 stone

There are people that weigh that much (apparently)

I've done 19.5 pts of exercise so far this week - do you think that means I can sit on my lard arse for the rest of the week?

Got to work hard this week cos it's fil's birthday on saturday and we've been invited over for a chinese takeaway. I'm not sure which are the best options but maybe a chow mein? or a foo yung? Any ideas? Just need to manage portion size like VVV did tonight (very controlled)

Ags · 30/01/2008 00:13

Wow Silk, 19.5 points on exercise is bloody brilliant.

Have my eating out guide to hand and chinese points are :-

Chick and Sweetcorn Soup 2.5
Hot and Sour Soup 2.5
Prawn Crackers (ave portion) 5
Sesame Prawn Fingers (each) 1
Spring Rolls (each) 1

Beef in Black Bean 8
Chick and Cashew Nuts 6.5
Chick with Mushroom 3
Kung Po Chick 7.5
Lemon Chick 7.5
Prawns with Ginger and Veg 7.5
Roast Pork Cantonese Style 4.5
Special Chow Mein 7.5
Sweet and Sour Chicken (balls or Peking) 10

Egg Fried Rice 10
Mixed Veg in Oyster Sauce 4.5
Plain Boiled Rice 6.5
Rice Noodles Singapore Style 5.5

So you could have a fab meal with your exercise points alone!!!

Ags - you can get tins of low fat coconut milk - must be less than 6 points (can't believe that!). Mushrooms in the microwave - slice enough for a sandwich, just put on a plate and zap for about a minute.

Kyala - ww online have an offer on too. One week for free, you could do it for a week to see what it's all about and just buy a points calculater (electronic one is about £10).

DH home from week away last night so we had a blow out, Smoked salmon, olive bread and salad, one glass of wine and one chocolate - 14 points. Would previously have been a take away and have to say last night's tea was much nicer!

6 1/2 stone people are called toddlers in my house!

I think one of DH's legs weighs 6.5 stone

Silk - avoid seaweed at ALL costs!!!

Anything that's deep fried too - like sesame prawn toast, prawn/pork balls, lemon chicken etc.

Chow mein is a good bet (particularly mushroom ), as are soups.

I've had an apple for breakfast and my usual falafel pitta (with one less falafel to help make up for yesterdays' splurge).

PerkinWarbeck · 30/01/2008 13:06

gosh, you lot are doing well!

and UC - surely a generally downward trajectory means things can't be going too badly. Even a loss of 1lb per month is nearly a stone in a year.

last week we had 4 different celebrations for DH's 30th birthday. Cake and booze became my staple diet.

But I weighed in the same on Monday, and really am back as of Monday. Menu plans in place, and I'm feeling a bit more motivated.

Each of my butt cheeks weighs 6.5 stone

Thanks for the chinese info Ags. I am horrified at the points in egg fried rice - I can easily cut that out with very little angst. Love chicken and cashew nuts (might give the mushrooms a miss though)

Wish I could eat all the exercise points but you can only eat 4 of them per day I think.

Just convinced my mum to sign up to ww on line. she said she couldn't do it and it would be too hard eating nothing all day. But she's stayed here since sunday, eaten pretty much what I have and is amazed her trousers feel looser (wish mine did)

Absolutely Fio. I was thinking that myself.

If you lose the weight too quickly, I think it can lull you into a false sense of security about what you are eating, and you could slip back into your 'old' ways more easily.

A long term thing has more chance of changing your eating habits permanently I think.

Of course, i could be talking out of my hefty backside

Having a bad day here. Bought some of those boots shapers choc bars thinking they would be lovely as a treat. Well, yes they would, but not all at once I have literally sat here and scoffed every single one of them. I am annoyed with myself now as I havent done that since I started the plan and I have been doing so well.
It has made me realise that if I want something like that then I need to just buy one as I cannot be trusted not to trough the lot!

They were nice, but I do feel a bit sick now! Will now go way over my points for the day, but have tracked every last one of them so hopefully I can save a few points each day to make up for it

mammyjo · 30/01/2008 15:01

Has anyone bought the new weight watchers cookbook? I saw it for sale when I went to class the other night. Just wondered if it was worth the money?

I do cook most days and am always on the lookout for new ideas. If the older one is better perhaps I will try and get one off ebay. Thankyou
