would anyone like to join me. I am going to start on Monday.

I am not joining any clubs but will be loosely following WW.

Need to cut out the alcohol, crisps, cheese and chocolate (not totally) .

I would love some company. Will try to log on everyday to keep up with anyone who joins me but I do work full time so please dont be cross if I dont reply quickly!!!

I am really down right now about the way I look and would love to share my joys/lows with others - speak soon x

Hello pelafina - I've swapped from bagel with butter and honey to porridge for breakfast. Stay much fuller for longer on the same points. I've also got a whole load of grapes in, so when I do the walk to the fridge, look in for something to eat I take a handful of them. Just discovered snack-a-jack popcorn (salt and vinegar is nice) which is only 1/2 a point a bag. Find ww yogurts quite satisfying too - the vanilla and toffee ones are only 1/2 point. I seem to want to eat all the time and not really care what it is, just have to replace the junk for good stuff. Hasn't seemed to have changed milk supply or quality - ds2 still like a mini budda.

loler · 28/01/2008 20:40

Oh and if you like mushrooms, there is many a thing you can do with them that is point free!

mammyjo · 28/01/2008 20:59

Hi pelafina and kyala

Well, I have been to my club and I have lost another 3 pounds! I am very pleased with that, have been good during the week, but was expecting things to start slowing down the way they do after a good loss for the first couple of weeks.

Well ladies, a good week all round I think. Well done everyone. I went to my meeting tonight and I lost 4lbs. I was really pleased.

VVV, you have totally piqued my interest in mooncups! Will have to investgate more. Since having coil fitted, my periods are very light and tampons are a pain as they are not very comfortable.

Nice to see the newcomers and hope that it goes well for you.

Also, LOLER, please tell me about microwaved mushrooms! Never ever cooked them in a microwave before, just dry fry them so I need to know what you do.

Hello new people and welcome to mushroom lovers anonymous - I am a mushroom hating social outcast on here

Well done everyone on our brilliant losses - particularly those who thought it had all gone wrong last week.

What happened to Lulu41 who started it all off?

Ags · 29/01/2008 00:17

Mmm,yes wondered about her. Hope she is ok.

Silk, how the hell did you manage to lose 6 lbs this week? That was fantastic. Did you lose 5 lbs first week and then 6 lbs this week? Just wondering how it went. Always find that the weight loss slows after the first couple of weeks. Was it exercise you think?

silkcushion · 29/01/2008 00:44

Yes well Ags I think there a a variety of factors:-

Started at 17st 5lbs and top target weight is 12st 11lbs - so very overweight.

Obviously was eating really really badly before - so must be having a huge calorie reduction even though I'm eating quite alot and some bad stuff too.

Exercising loads - 24pts of activity in ww terminology - that's 2 badminton sessions (about 2hrs each), a 4 mile walk to get the baby weighed (usually drive), did parts of my Davina dvd 3 times I think (about 2 1/2 hrs total). Did eat all the exercise points I was allowed last week (not planned but fell of the wagon a bit)

Possibly important - I am never eating less than minimum points ie storing maximum 4 for the day. Also haven't really stored them til end of the week for a blow out - at most stored for 2/3 days. A personal trainer I had years ago said this helps the body to keep fat burning. She recommended one day a week where you ate anything you liked, said it stopped yr body from going into starvation mode.

That's it really and it will definitely slow down this week - hoping to shift 3lbs and make it a stone!

Off to bed now. HAve been waiting up for a locksmith cos the keys got stuck in the outside of the front door. he just arrived, turned the lock, took out keys and looked at me like I was an idiot

Night night

Ags · 29/01/2008 01:08

Thanks Silk for that great explanation. Fabulous amount of exercise! I am definately not doing enough/any!

Lol about keys! Been there, done that, paid the locksmith!

colditz · 29/01/2008 07:53

weigh in today (tremble tremble)

I do not feel thinner

In fact I feel a bit bloaty, which is unfair because I am sticking to my points.

Good luck Colditz and Fio.

I had complete pig out last night. It was Mum and Dad's anniversary and last night here. They are going back to Ireland today. DID YOU KNOW THAT A CAN OF COCONUT MILK IS 22 POINTS? (Sorry, thought that merited a shout!) I made a Thai Red Curry yesterday and used 3 cans, 66 points! But it was scrumptious and it made 5 portions. Then I had profiteroles and cream and then I had chocolate! I am going to spend the rest of the week making up for it but it was yummy. Didn't even try to count the points, think it ran to 100's!

UniversallyChallenged · 29/01/2008 12:40

one measley pathetic embarassing pound - IN 2 WEEKS AAAAARRRGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH!!! This fat is like superglue sticking to my thighs.

Off on yet another bike ride. Swam this morning, rode yesterday. So fed up

Well done ags, UC and Fio!! Lovely to hear more losses. UC, dont get disheartened, it is still a loss

kyala · 29/01/2008 14:25

Hi again!
At the moment I'm not very financially in a position where I can afford to pay to lose weight IYSWIM so wont be joining WW but if you guys have got recipes etc you could give that'd be a big help

I'm currently drinking loads of fizzy water (sort of overspill from pregnancy) as I can't stand the taste of tap water.

Well done Fiofio with typing, I'm pretty good at doing things whilst feeding, will keep in mind the points re bfing!

Thanks loler that's a help

Think I'll look up WW recipes etc whilst I'm online and see what comes up, that way I can get a good idea as to which way I'm going!!

Heehee Silkcushion am afraid I shall have to pipe up with everyone else on the fungi front!!

You've all inspired me to take the girl's for a nice long walk this afternoon, now then off to charge my batteries!!

Well done everyone!

What a fabulous bunch of losers we are

Had a banana and orange for breakfast. Had a falafel pitta again for lunch. YUM! and a ginger biscuit.

I'm up to 9.5 points for the day so far. No idea what to have for dinner. I dont much feel like cooking at all to be honest. So looks like it might be salad

Ags · 29/01/2008 20:21

You know that collectively we have lost about 6.5 stone!? Amazingly well done all!

Are there things that you would like to do that you don't feel able to until you lose some weight? Mine include going on a rollercoaster (scared the harness won't fit!), flying to Australia to see our bestest friends (can't bear the thought of a tight plane seat for that long) and shagging my husband with abandon and not worrying about the flabby bits (he doesn't!).

Ags · 29/01/2008 20:31

Well done Colditz and Fio and you too UC. A pound is a pound!
