I would love some company. Will try to log on everyday to keep up with anyone who joins me but I do work full time so please dont be cross if I dont reply quickly!!!

I am really down right now about the way I look and would love to share my joys/lows with others - speak soon x

Have fallen off the wagon somewhat in the last 2 days through being ill and not wanting to cook.

Back on track today though. I'm just going to pretend the last two days didnt happen

BITCAT · 19/01/2008 21:29

Well i'll be back on monday to let you all know how i did and if it's worked, i hope i have lost something...wish you all well for the rest of the weekend....

chocolatespiders · 19/01/2008 21:39

if i knew how to copy stuff i would do you a copy.... sorry i dont....

i have been good today... and nothing like normal, when i would have had 3 bags of crisps, etc just had one roll for lunch >>> i have never just had one roll!!!

colditz · 19/01/2008 22:19

Isn't Quorn nice?

Is anyone else struggling to use their points?

I ahve had 12 points today, from an allowance of 21, and i am just Not Hungry ... but someone told me if you don't use your points you will gain weight, and my God I do not need that ... but it's left me with 5 points to use on TOP of the 4 a day I already bank!

chocolatespiders · 19/01/2008 22:24

could you have hot choc and a few bics....

i love quorn too, i have the sausages, with roasted veg...

did you ahve the mince?

Ags · 19/01/2008 22:36

Colditz, would you mind giving me your spare points? Thanks a million, feeling like a little treat!

I have been at meetings where if someone is saying they have been really good but haven't lost any weight, the leader always checks they have been eating enough. Not sure if it would have much impact just one day but it might if you were doing it very often.

Now 5 points, mm, what shall I have?

colditz · 19/01/2008 22:49

I eat PROPERLY though. Breakfast, lunch and dinner.

2.5 - 3 points for breakfast, around 3 or 4 for lunch, and 5 or 6 at tea, and it IS enough. I don't have a huge appetite, never really have had - but i was eating a huge amount of fat. Butter, FF milk, cheese every day, chips, fried food.

Now I am paying attention to the fat content in my food, and of course the calories have dropped - but still 200g of chicken is enough for anyone, isn't it?

colditz · 19/01/2008 22:53

Going to have some tinned spaghetti on toast then, and a Hilights. That should take me up to 17.

chocolatespiders · 19/01/2008 23:06

it is really good that you are not feeling deprived... how much would you like to lose

i am sure that is the kind of diet a thin person would follow... 3 meals nothing ion between,,, this is what i am aiming for when i am thin

colditz · 19/01/2008 23:16

I am not thin, have never been thin, have never even been 'podgy' since I left my teens. I am glad to hear that this is how thin people eat

I just .. I am 27 years old. I have spent my entire 20's being 3 or 4 stone overweight, and at least a size 16, and I've had enough. I'm only 5'3, and it's all going on the front - I'm barrel shaped. It's got to come off for the sake of my health.

VeniVidiVickiQV · 19/01/2008 23:21

Why not treat yourself to a choccie bar once in a while colditz? If you dont eat enough points your body with think you are starving it and your metabolism will slow down.

Ags · 19/01/2008 23:38

Chocolate, I am always studying thin people's eating too. My brother in-laws are very thin people but whenever we get together for dinner I am always amazed at how much they eat. Enormous amounts. I guess they must eat whatever they like on special occasions and eat sensibly the rest of the time. Not pig out constantly like me!

Colditz, jealous of your restraint. I am always stuggling to keep within my points as quantity is very important to me. The thing I really need to do is try to learn to listen to my body telling me when it is full. I just can't seem to hear it at the moment.

colditz · 19/01/2008 23:40

I don't like chocolate, I don't like biscuits, and if I start eating cheese ... it's the road to ruin. There is not enough cheese in the world.

Sometimes I put honey in my tea.

God, I make it sound really spartan but honestly I eat loads!

Ags · 19/01/2008 23:48

Colditz, sounds like you are losing well so far anyway so maybe nothing to worry about or has the lack of hunger just started?

colditz · 19/01/2008 23:54

Well, I was hungrier in my first week, but I was (before WW) eating a HUGE quantity of food ... things like Supernoodles which are 10 points a packet - and come on, who eats half a packet of those babies?

And now I eat boiled new potatoes, which are 10 points per KILO.

And God - when you check the points on things you can really see how convenience food has contributed to the rise in obesity.

Now I am worried I have killed my metabolism. I never had much of one, and now it's dead

Ags · 19/01/2008 23:57

I know the feeling. This is my first week, started Monday. Got the new shopping guide and my mouth hit the floor about some things. Tesco Cheese and Onion Sandwich which I could easily grab to fill the gap BETWEEN meals is something like 10 points and it is pathetically thin and unfulfilling!

VeniVidiVickiQV · 19/01/2008 23:58

Sorry

Didnt mean to depress you.

I've just realised I've used up a least one days worth of points in drinking cranberry juice for my kidney infection (as ordered by the GP). It's farking 2 points a glass!!!! I've drunk a litre and a half in two days.

I really think I will have gained when I weigh in tomorrow

Ags · 20/01/2008 00:02

Oh bugger VVVQ. You really had no option in order to get yourself fit. And you could look at it that you are nice and healthy to start a new week. We will be floating supportively above you on the scales! Good luck.

colditz · 20/01/2008 00:03

It was medicine and you needed it and that is that.

Ags · 20/01/2008 00:06

You are ok now aren't you? Just thought that my last post would not be very helpful if you were still feeling awful!

VeniVidiVickiQV · 20/01/2008 09:36

Much better, thank you. Have just felt very unwell for the last two days without any real thing I could pinpoint. The kidney pain has mostly gone though, which is the worst thing.

Back on track today though. I've just delayed reaching my target by a week is all.

Thank you lovely people

chocolatespiders · 20/01/2008 09:43

obviously you needed it vvv..... get your self better and you will be right back on track..... i am at how many points something that i would have thought is good for us to drink is...

you could have 4 slices of ww bread toasted for the same ammount....

i am one of those dieters.. who trys to get the most ammount of food for my points,, which is why i tend to eat quorn, as it is low in points and have with roasted veg which i love... if i get snack attack in the evening i will have a bowl of cereal....

with regards to thin people.... maybe we should start a thread and ask them??
i would like to get the stage where i can eat one biscuit and feel satisfied like others at my work do, if i have one i want another +++++++ i feel satisfied after maybe 6
same with crisps.... so i have to accept i have a rubbish relationship with food, and this need to be cracked otherwise i will lose and regain, which i def do not want

hope you all have a good day

Eddas · 20/01/2008 10:11

6? I eat the packet

VVVQ I agree with the others, nothing you could do but drink the Cranberry juice so I wouldn't count it.

I have been good BUT we went out for curry last night and I read my eating out book and thought right i'll have a chicken tikka as its low in points(8). Had a couple of popadoms and boiled rice. But der what did I have???? Chiken tikka masala which is 21 points. Oh well I didn't have too much sauce and didn't eat all the chicken. I listen to my big old belly when it said it was full and stopped normally i'd think well I padi for it so i'll at least eat the chicken.

I have come to realise that when I was skinny(when I lived at home) I stopped eating when I was full. I aslo had a glass of water at dinner time. So I am having water again with dinner and eating slower so that I don't eat too much[hopeful]

I also think the other thing I need to do is exercise so I will get a dvd to do when I get 5 mins Maybe whilst dd is at preschool and ds is having a nap in the mornings No doubt now i've said that ds will give up his morning nap

Eddas · 20/01/2008 10:12

oh and chocolatespiders thanks for saying you'd copy the dvd, I wouldn't have a clue either

mammyjo · 20/01/2008 10:17

Hi all. Haven't been on this thread much but just wanted to pop in and say I hope everyone is ok. I am doing relatively well, have had one crap day where my sweet cravings were through the roof, but have managed to pull it back since!

Due weigh in tomorrow so crossing fingers that I have lost something. Good luck to everyone else with imminent weigh ins!

I too have a dodgy relationship with food, and would dearly love to be able to have just one biscuit, or one piece of chocolate and actually be satisfied. Think that kind of improvement may be a long way off!
