I would love some company. Will try to log on everyday to keep up with anyone who joins me but I do work full time so please dont be cross if I dont reply quickly!!!

I am really down right now about the way I look and would love to share my joys/lows with others - speak soon x

I agree with (fio was it?) about the BF extra points - can't see how I'll lose weight on 32 (yes 32!) points a day.

Quorn sausages (very very low points), chips (well cut up potato with smoked paprika in the oven) and beans for us tonight.

Definately getting my 5 a day now and think the fact there's so much fruit and veg is improving dcs diets too.

silkcushion · 18/01/2008 17:58

stop with the mushroom craziness - i hate em

are quorn sausages nice?

loler · 18/01/2008 18:03

Quorn sausages come in all sorts of flavours so some are nicer than others - the ones with red onion in are nicest. Quorn mince is very low points too and in recipes can't taste the difference. While I'm on Quorn the low pointed swedish meatballs taste almost the same as Ikea meatballs.

OK Quorn advert over!

ChipButty · 18/01/2008 18:15

Quorn is fab! The 'chicken' pieces are great in a stir fry and they have had the roasts in the supermarkets over the past couple of months: great for Sunday lunch!

UniversallyChallenged · 18/01/2008 19:43

Anyone tried the Beef Quorn? I did a pack with onion, carrots, mushrooms - not again - and a casserole packet mix it was just like beef casserole. So yummy. I think it was 4 points if i had worked it out correctly

Anyone know how the OP Lulu is getting on?

araucaria · 18/01/2008 21:37

Hi all,
Have not managed to post for a bit - DS has been so unsettled in the evenings it has interupted my MNetting

First tooth is coming through surely things will improve when it is fullly 'arrived'

Everyone seems to be doing pretty well.
Wow to caykon - slimmer of the week

Have ended up having takeaways on the last two nights , so not expecting much weight loss on monday.

Have managed to get out with the pram quite a bit - must remember to put the pedometer on

VVV hope you are feeling better - nothing worse than being ill when on a diet!
UC I was wondering how Lulu41 was too...
Silk - sorry to hear your LO has eczema - I had it dreadfully as a child, and spent a lot of infancy wrapped in tar bandages - horrid Hope you find something that helps your baby.
Colditz - great mushroom tip (sorry silk!) - had em on toast for lunch
Loler - really interesting link re tiredness and appetite - I think that explains a lot of my weight gain - before the baby I did quite a bit of night work, and too often only a diet coke and chocolate and crisps kept me going!

Hope everyone has a good weekend

Ags · 18/01/2008 22:06

Have had a good week so far. Seem to be dreaming about mushrooms though. Mmmmm wonder why?

Everyone seems to be having an ok week. Really don't envy all you new Mums trying to lose weight with grizzly babes in the background. Major Respect! My dd is 2 on Feb 23rd and I am finally getting round to losing some weight!

VVV, hope the cranberry juice is doing it's trick and your kidney is behaving itself.

Had a tricky one today as new Chinese friend invited me for lunch. Wow what a lunch, about 10 different dishes. She is too new a friend for me to get into the whole weight issue about. Don't feel comfortable talking about it except to my nearest and dearest. So I did my best, had a little bit of everything tried to make it little enough not to ruin diet but enough not to insult her.

However, now starving as didn't have anything else to eat. I am being very very good. Have no idea how many points I have eaten but it will be a lot.

I am so looking forward to tomorrow. Am going to have bacon, egg and mushroom for breakfast. Think I should go to bed now so I will be sleeping through the hunger! Oh poor me.

Also peeing like a horse this evening. Very weird. Hope you haven't given me a kidney infection VVV!

colditz · 18/01/2008 23:58

I made a nice curry yesterday.

2 tomatoes, the ubiquitous mushrooms, garlic, curry powder, 100g fat free fromage frais, and 200g of chicken breast. 4 points, very filling, and very very tasty!

BITCAT · 19/01/2008 00:16

UniversallyChallenged · 19/01/2008 08:43

Bitcat dont be down heartearted 11st 4 is my goal!!

Celebrated my 2 lb weight loss on monday by eating a few naughty things and put on 5 LBS by the evening still getting off most of it. So annoyed with myself . Am sure i didnt eat that much and have been swimming/ bike riding and following weightwatchers since wednesday, still a pound left.

AAAAARRGGGGHHHHH that feels better!

BITCAT · 19/01/2008 09:48

Trying really hard not to eat anything bad but really hard last couple days as i have a stinking cold, sore throat just feeling like crap to be honest!! That you for your words of encouragement, as i am only 5ft 4 if i put any more on i am going to be looking like mr blobby!! xmas really hasn't helped matters, wish i could go swimmimg but i am far too embarrassed about the way i look and i can't swim...when swimming lessons were being given at school i couldn't go cause i had a gromit in my ear and wasn't allowed to get the water near my ears, come on everyone we are strong women and we can do it if we put our minds to it!!!

silkcushion · 19/01/2008 10:31

Bit - if yr unable to go swimming, or embarassed about exercise (I do it btw and am far bigger than you - 17st 5 and 5ft 11) then try to up yr walking first of all.

You could even do some interval training - I had a personal trainer a few years ago before my wedding and she says the most effective way of burning fat is to get your heart rate up for 1 min and then lower for 2 mins. As you get fitter the intervals (hard bits) get longer and the whole thing needs to be harder. It increases metabolism and you start to burn fat more effectively. Plan is to walk fast for 1 minute (until you are out of breath) then slow right down and recover for 2 mins and repeat for as long as possible - half an hour max. It made a huge difference to me when I was doing it - not just fat burning but shifting fat from where you want it to go. Also it is easier to do cos you know the interval will only last 60 secs max (helpful when your lungs feel like exploding) You can interval train with any exercise - walking up and downstairs, swimming etc

Silk - listen to yr own advice and get moving!!!

Eddas · 19/01/2008 11:39

BITCAT, i'm 5ft4 too but i'm 12 stone so know how you feel. I'm embarrassed going swimming but I have been. I just get in the water PDQ Mind you haven't been for a while as the times I can go it's so busy you can't swim freely anyway

Once the lighter days come along i'm goign to start running. I really want to run the race for life this year. It's quite a shirt distance so really hope I can manage to achieve that by May/June.

chocolatespiders · 19/01/2008 11:49

ok ladies i am with you

weighing in at 16st 3 lbs
i need to do something that is so fat

today i have done vicky binns dance workout..
and had bowl of branflakes..

how long till lunch?????

chocolatespiders · 19/01/2008 11:49

i hate going swimming but force myslef to take my girls the only problem is that i cant swim with them

BITCAT · 19/01/2008 11:57

I could take the children but would be difficult on my own as 4 to watch, when i'm not working, my partner is and rest of the time they are at school. And as i said just feels like everyone looking at me, i know its irrational and people have better things to do than look at me but then i see all the other mums with perfect bodies and that just sets me off again!! I am going to do the davina dvd workout though, i am determined to get to my goal of 9st

chocolatespiders · 19/01/2008 11:59

oh 4 would be to many to watch thats if they allowed to take them on your own...

to be honest i am massive and there is normally someone bigger then me.... i really habe to force myself and just think sod what otheres are thinkin,... at least i am going.. would be easier to sot here doing noting... but i go

Eddas · 19/01/2008 12:28

chocolatespiders is vicky binns dvd any good? She looks FAB and was thinking of trying it out

UniversallyChallenged · 19/01/2008 12:30

well it's midday and ive eaten my total points for the day already am sooo hungry. Well i was, not now though.

Am out to friends for meal tonight - oops - so had better get on my bike and burn some calories!!!

chocolatespiders · 19/01/2008 12:37

well i like it because i dont like the dvd's that you lay on floor and lift legs 10 time etc equally i hate classes like that,, i prefer the fat burning bits, as there is no point me toning yet with 3 ston e+ to lose....

i went on amazon and read the reviews of this one adn natalie casidy one etc... it is well worth reading them and see what you think....

UC tomorrow is another day

try and chose wisely tonight,,, i am nosy what have you eaten???

SpiritualKnot · 19/01/2008 13:02

Hi everyone.
Lost one and half pounds last week on WW. That 5.5lb in 2 weeks. Going well. Find it very useful to visit here. Had a crunchie because of his site.... 3.5 points and I've rediscovered the humble mushroom!
Will keep checking back.
Lotsa love to all,
SK

silkcushion · 19/01/2008 15:17

well done sk

have just done davina dvd - dd slept long enough for me to do 60mins! need to practise my pelvic floors more though - it was touch and go during some of the bouncing about

Eddas · 19/01/2008 17:51

thanks chocolatespiders have had a look at amazon. Not sure yet, might see if the library has one I could borrow.

Well done spirtualknot, great loss

Have been quite good today. Well very good actually Fruit and fibre for breakfast and a baget with just marg for lunch. Not feeling too hungry yet but we're off out for a curry later, so might need something before. Maybe a bit of fruit.

BITCAT · 19/01/2008 18:36

Thanks everyone for the tips will be trying some of them out, if you do get hungary which i do try a pear or some fruit or even carrot sticks and drink lots of water it just takes the edge off the hunger, make sure you have yourself a small treat as i find it easier to stick to it if i know i can have a little something i like...did you what the jamie oliver thing weds night..really interesting and really made me think about what i was putting in my mouth, did you know that 1 kebab is a whole days intake of fat recommended for women...it also made me think about my health..it'll probably be repeated, be worth watching if only to remind you when putting rubbish in our mouths..dark choc apparrently good for us in moderation as contains anti-oxidents which can fight saturated fat, and stop bad cholestral clogging up our arteries....
