Need to cut out the alcohol, crisps, cheese and chocolate (not totally) .

I would love some company. Will try to log on everyday to keep up with anyone who joins me but I do work full time so please dont be cross if I dont reply quickly!!!

I am really down right now about the way I look and would love to share my joys/lows with others - speak soon x

question re ww - how many points can you save? and does it all get rest at the end of the week?

VeniVidiVickiQV · 16/01/2008 15:17

4 a day, and judging by mine last week - 12 a week. It gets reset at the beginning of each new week.

So, you may as well use up your spare points. Also - if you have a bad day one day - it gets wiped at the end of the week and you can start from scratch

CayKon · 16/01/2008 15:57

can you believe that between us all we lost nearly 52lbs in total!!!!

VeniVidiVickiQV · 16/01/2008 16:11

That's nearly my target amount

CayKon · 16/01/2008 16:22

my targets 50lbs. i wonder if I could steal everyone elses weight losses and get it all over in a week. ( wishful thinking)

SpiritualKnot · 16/01/2008 16:39

Hi there, posted last week to stay I'd started Weightwatchers but haven't been back since.
I lost 4lb last week and weigh in again tomorrow.
Don't find it too bad to stick to. I've cut out cheese totally, which seems to help as I tend to go on a cheese/cracker cycle thing of...crackers + cheese....chomp chomp...finish crackers still got cheese left..get more crackers..chomp chomp...no cheese but still some crackers left..get more cheese...etc etc

Anyway, my only concern is that I lost weight last year and put it on again. Once I'd regained weight, someone said "Well you'd started looking a bit gaunt anyway" I'm 5'3" and had got down to 11stone 2lb (from 11stone 11lb)...how can that have made me gaunt looking?

Now I'm 12 stone 5lb (or rather 12 stone 1lb coz of my weight loss). Just dread the comments again and worried looks whenever I lose half a pound...argh.

Fingers crossed for tomorrow.

SK

so, being sick of mushroom sandwiches (they are free apart from the bread and feel good value!), have just had a Crunchy from dc selection boxes (they are being allowed loads of choc in an effort to get out of the house!) - can any one tell me how many points are in those? No calories on the side so once again am assuming that its free.

moodlumthehoodlum · 16/01/2008 16:53

a standard crunchie (ie normal sized one - 45g) is 3.5 points. Also if you ate it standing up, it technically doesn't count.

MMMM crunchie

Can I just ask, by the way. Does being on your period affect your weight as I'm just started mine and as I say my weigh in is tomorrow.

Whoops sorry, hope I haven't put you off your Crunchie. Can't believe they're so low, def on my shopping list now!

loler · 16/01/2008 17:03

Not too bad then!

have mashed root veg with your lamb - carrots are free, celeric (yuck on own but like pots when mixed in) is free, parsnip minimal, put on potato in and some (free) whole grain mustard and feels like you are eating mashed potato (but at very low points cost)

I get water retention around period so do put on weight. Remember, if you haven't lost much tomorrow, you'll have lost loads next week!

VeniVidiVickiQV · 16/01/2008 17:06

If you are the sort to retain water, (lets face it, that's pretty much all menstruating women ), then yes, it might affect it.

Mushroom sandwiches, loler? I've never tried that particular delicacy! Do you cook the mushrooms and how?

Hello can I join in too? I've decided that I want to be healthy so dealing with how I eat is really important to me.

I've been following WW core plan, I lost over a stone before Christmas but haven't had a chance to go lately. I wasn't strict over the holidays but don't think I've put anything on.

I'm going to weigh on Sat at Town Centre WW,
I really want to do this as I've just booked a holiday in the sun in July.

I'm about 13 st, size 16, curvy, I'll be able to get down to size 14, do you think?

Is anyone else following the Core Plan?

Can you motivate me to really get going again?

(I was treated to an icecream maker so any low recipes would be most welcome!)

Hello Earthymama - I am about 13stone (well the dark side of 12stone, so same thing), and last year I was a stone lighter and deffo a 14 around waist and hips, and 14/16 on top, so its definately possible .

loler · 16/01/2008 17:50

VVV - I just slice and microwave the mushrooms on a plate. They don't taste as fantastic as when smothered with garlicly cream but not too bad!

colditz · 16/01/2008 17:59

I use 3 or four squirts of fry light, sizzle them in a sauce pan with a drop of water and a LID (this is important) plenty of salt and pepper.

with WW bread and no spread, a mushroom sandwich is only one point - Ihave one nearly daily. An they are 1 of your 5 a day.
