We went for a nice walk too.
We've got some of our cheese board and crackers left so I'm hoping to finish that today (you can't waste good stilton and brie, especially if you've spent most of the year pregnant!) and then start diet tomorrow!

Woohoo! Can't wait!

fedda · 01/01/2008 19:51

i totally agree. Nice brie here although I can't say I've spent almost all last year being pregnant (would be nice).

MrsFish · 01/01/2008 20:53

Hello everyone, can I join too please the nork swingage sounds good fun , I need to lose at least two stone to get back to my pre pregnancy weight. Ds is 12 weeks old now and I haven't lost anything other than the initial stone when he was born My goal to lose the weight and tone up is September as my SiL gets married and I want a new fab outfit I NEED TO GET RID OF MY JELLY BELLY, two kids in 2 years has taken its toll

I have had a good day today and managed a 3 mile brisk walk too to get me started. I'll weigh myself again in the morning and take it from there.

amazonianwoman · 01/01/2008 20:55

Happy New Year all

Well, I've had my final chocolate binge - it had to be done, as I was sooo hungover and only had 2hrs sleep, but I ate so much I genuinely don't fancy any now.

My plan is to cut out chocolate and nibbling/snacking between meals unless it's fruit. I don't want to think of myself as being on a diet, cos I'll just start obsessing about food all day long. I'm going to have ONE small bar of chocolate a week, on a Friday .

We're starting to meal plan so we don't waste so much food, and to make life easier catering for 2 adults, 3yr old and 10mth old, so I'm only going to plan healthy meals with lots of veg. Then 2 miles walking per day doing pre-school run, and cycling a minimum of 60km/week (will build this up when I get fitter/thinner!)

We can do it!! We'll all be sexy beasts by the summer with norks too perky to swing

pollywollybauble · 01/01/2008 21:06

happy new year everyone!

had a great new years eve.... all of us , inc dd up til 2.30am ...almost unheard of in the pollywobble (like that name discoverlife) household where we do like our beds

nye day not so brill...someone has been on a £1000 internet spending spree with my card details over xmas, so had to sort out my admin ...still it sounds like it will all be refunded [phew]

am looking forward to having root canal work done tomorrow ...at least that should help kick start the diet!

discoverlife, sorry i disappeared, sounds like a lot to handle healthwise....humour helps a lot tho' doesn't it?

fedda · 01/01/2008 22:15

That's true. Good luck!

naturopath · 01/01/2008 23:01

ok, have done quite well today:

Breakfast: 1 apple and brown toast and jam
Lunch: Quinoa salad with broccoli and other vegies
Snack: er, chocolate (oops) and one small pastry (I was stuck breastfeeding in a pastry shop!)
Supper: Veggie stir fry
then blueberries, an apple and a pear.

I think snacks are my downfall.

Happy new year everyone!

naturopath · 01/01/2008 23:03

oh, and amazonianwoman - I like your mealplan idea - I'm going to do that.

fedda · 01/01/2008 23:05

I think you are all doing better then me. I must start being good again.

katylessbumpy · 02/01/2008 09:02

off to weightwatchers.will catch up in a bit,have a slinky day x

OP posts:
Jahan · 02/01/2008 09:34

Good luck Katy. I was thinking of joining but I'm going to see how I do here first.
Good luck Pollywolly too. Hope you're not in too much discomfort. I know what you're going through and its awful.
Fedda - your plan is an excellent one so try and stick to it and you'll do really well

Right, I've weighed myself this morning and the scales show 12st6lbs! Argh!
I am definitely going to be less than 12 by the end of this month. Yes, I am!

Mealplanning is excellent. As well as being more organised and knowing exactly what you're cooking, you save money and time too as you don't keep going out to buy extras.

Good luck everyone and be good!

amazonianwoman · 02/01/2008 10:07

Weighed myself this morning. Can't even post what I weigh Or should I?! Might embarrass me into action?!

Pollywobble - awful news about the credit card - hope you get it sorted.

Started well today, 2 weetabix, 2 cups of tea, didn't scoff the rest of DS's toast , narrowly avoided a loose pile of chocolate coins

For lunch going to have a lone slimming fast shake I found in the fridge (not a fan of SFast but don't want to waste it) and tuna salad for dinner.

Then 15km cycle tonight...

discoverlife · 02/01/2008 12:30

Pollywolly sorry about credit card, but glad to here it should be sorted. Make sure they know that its not your fault if you incur charges.

O.K. weighed myself this morning. and I don't care if it seems embarressing to post such a large one but its more embarrassing to be this weight. So I have put 4lb on over Christmas and I am now
Dah Dah Daaaaa! 19st 3lb. So I think I have the most to lose on here.
Day started good with a large bowl of natural low fat yogurt with the remains of the fruit bowl chopped into it, So there was a rather exotic mix of kiwi, passionfruit and a half a banana ( had to give up the other half to DS2)
I now have a toothache which is reacting to sugar so that is going to keep me on the straight and narrow.
Lunch is out today (shopping)so it will probably be a jacket potato with beans and make sure they don't put any butter in it.
Then dinner is going to be new potato's in their skins, a piece of meat, grilled, and a pile of veg. As today's treat I am allowing myself a knob of butter on the spuds.
Christmas and New Year went really well, with a trip to my Mums with ALL the kids (no arguments wonderful) that had her crying when she opened her pressy. Spoilt when on the way home all the blokes jumped out for a pee in the bushes (isn't it convienient to have a willy) and DS2 10yo put his hand around the stanction to get out (instead of the grab rail) and DH accidently slammed the door on his hand. Boy did he scream and I was stuck in my seat panicing think why can't I move (seat belt) and not knowing what was wrong (had been snoozing). It was horrible but only grazed knuckles and a bruised hand. DH said he felt sick as he turned around on the scream and all he could see were the fingers appearing between the door and the frame (yuck). He had some calpol and went to sleep in our bed last night, and is now quite proud of his bandage (a visual reminder not to bang it etc).

Fubsyinapeartree · 02/01/2008 13:09

Snap Jahan! 12st6lb here too!

Ive dug out my Paul McKenna 90 day success journal and Im having veg soup for lunch.

Tomorrow could be interesting as Ive just been asked to do a mystery shop involving buying a hot dinner

amazonianwoman · 02/01/2008 13:39

Oh no Discoverlife - hope DS's hand is recovering!

Right, will come clean too. 14st 11lbs. Would like to get to 12st (I'm 5ft 10in, so think that will be reasonable, although I was a mere 9st 10lbs after I'd been backpacking in Oz/Asia 15yrs ago)

Have somehow managed to put on a stone since DS was born almost 10mths ago

Succeeded in walking into village this a.m. (so mild nork swinging only) without succumbing to chocolate...

amazonianwoman · 02/01/2008 13:40

Just remembered I have the Paul McKenna book too - will hunt it out to read tonight

laloup · 02/01/2008 13:57

Hi girls, Happy New Year

I was with you all at the beginning of the last thread but kind of lost my way in a cloud of Christmas wine and chocolates

Rapidly working my way through the kitchen cupboards to finish off the Xmas goodies (AfterEight, anyone??). Will weigh in soon and climb aboard the Nork-swinging weight-loss wagon, may have to keep on a good supportive bra though for fear of injury....wobble, wobble !

Goal is to shift a half stone first, then hopefully make it to a stone off. All the best everyone x

MrsFish · 02/01/2008 14:10

Hello everyone. Weighed myself this morning, I was 13st exactly, I was 11st 5 when I got pregnant so my first goal is to reach that, but I would love to be 10 and a half again. I'm a short arse so this extra weight aint pretty

Will post todays food at the end of the day. Oh and my mum did slimming clubs for 20 years so if anyone wants to know anything I'll try and help Just beware if you have more than 2 stone to lose don't be too strict straight away otherwise when you get down to your last half/one stone to lose it won't come off very quickly. My mum has told me as a guide with my weight to start off with approx 1400 cals a day with half an hours exercise, which should hopefully be a steady 1 pound a week loss

fedda · 02/01/2008 14:27

I don't like my scales. Why do they do it to me? I need to loose weight!

discoverlife · 02/01/2008 18:46

Best time to weigh and the most consistant time, is at home when you have had your wee and no.2 if needed, but before you eat or drink anything, stark naked in the bathroom on the same set of scales each week. Then when you go to your doc's or WW or SW you know its all those cups of tea and the clothes that make it heavier than at home.

As a side point, I hate my DS1, he is a chef and he booby traps my every try at dieting. Do you know what he's done this time. On NYE well actually at 3am New Years Day he came home with some left over buffet items. One of the items is a catering sized ice cream tub full of Asparagus and Brie Pasta Bake and it is sooo yummy and sooo sinful. But a) I can't resist and b) it would be a shameful waste to throw it away.

fedda · 02/01/2008 19:25

I'm glad my Dh doesn't bring me such temtations! i just had some melt in the mouth 4 bisuits with my coffee with 2 sugars and I had to hold myself tight as I wanted 2 more. Still, what are my scales ging to tell me tomorrow/ Nothing good. Yes, I know about the time and the place to weigh myself. When I was 15 I didn't have to take off everything and I was weighing myself while out and I was light. Blessed time that was.

katylessbumpy · 02/01/2008 20:17

pollywolly at that internet thief.i hope you get it sorted.

Jahan · 02/01/2008 20:43

Hi Fubsy, my weight twin! How much weight are you looking to lose? I need to get down to about 9.5. I'm 5'3" so thats ample for me.
Discoverlife - Ouch. hope your ds is better.

Today was a good day. I even refused chocolate at a friends house!

pollywollybauble · 02/01/2008 20:45

evening all!
i think a silver sparkly Ra Ra Ra pom pom shake is called for ......i can feel the determination thru the computer!

internet theft thing will be sorted out quite easily i think....apparently they just send me a letter to sign confirming that certain purchases aren't mine and i get refunded....it surprised me as i was ready for a bit of a row!

teeth not too bad this eve...hopefully that's the end of the course of dental work (ladies never let your dental visits lapse!!)

weighed self todayand have put on 3 0f the 7lbs i'd lost and am back at 12 st 11 lbs

just remember the bigger we are, the quicker we'll lose it at the beginning

i'm with the poster who listed what she didn't have (amazonian?)to me thats almost more important than what you do have in a day....breaking habits is half the battle isn't it?

today
brekkie...5 tbs muesli and skimmed milk
snack.....crumpets and spread
eve.......vegetable and rice soup, yoghurt, small piece of xmas pud.
just......cappuccino (my evening secret weapon )

Fubsy · 02/01/2008 20:52

Hi Jahan - this is spooky - Im 5'4, so I should be looking for around the same weight!

I got down to 10st with WW a few years ago, but found it hard to stay there. Trouble is I am a terrible snacker, and I also dont get the exercise I used to get as we live in a village with no pavements so i drive everywhere.

Im going back to the gym next week, and Im going to try to do some crafting eg knitting when I get the urge to snack, so I keep occupied!
