Discoverlife Enjoy being waited on, get them to bring you nourishing soups, and feed you, remembering to check it's not too hot first, and then dab your mouth with a linen napkin.

I have just made such a soup, and I shall spoon a laddleful for you , what do you think? Does it need more seasoning? Can you feel you strength returning?

belcantavinissima · 24/01/2008 16:55

oh im putting it back on [wails- it must have been that half a chocolate gateaux slice dd forced me to share with her today!!!]
how can i make amends with the scales? i must lose it again and more before monday nights walk of shame!

katylessbumpy · 24/01/2008 18:02

bel STOP WEIGHING EVERYDAY!!! your weight fluctuates daily due to water retention etc so just weigh at the same time every week.it will show a loss

OP posts:
belcantavinissima · 24/01/2008 18:37

i cant help it!!!!!! its not even just once a day its several lol!!!

katylessbumpy · 24/01/2008 18:47

i know its addictive but you'll send yourself barmy.chuck your scales away and just get weighed at ww once a week.it's the only way to stop x

The emergency was at behest of DH (occasionally they show more sense) as when he woke up he could actually hear bubbles popping. Yuck. So I've been taking it very easy, DS has learnt how to make a Lancashire hotpot (so has DH)
Honey is a very addictive drink BTW, but it does soothe sore throats. Which I need as the coughing has got so bad that I have pulled my ribcage and stomach muscles and all the good work I did last month with the pelvic floor exercises has gone down the pan, literally back to 'squeeze and lift dear'.

Throw the scales away or lock them in a cupboard belcantavinissima as all that is going to happen is you will have a natural fluctuation and give up for the day by thinking 'well Ive put on so whats the use trying anymore'. I put on 5lbs a day between morning and evening with water retention and food intake and it magically disapears with the first pee (a rather big one).

discoverlife · 24/01/2008 18:48

Thanks for the soup *currentbun' it was yummy at lunch time with a fresh baked roll.

mylittlepudding · 24/01/2008 18:49

Definitely only once a week - you can do it!

My mum has a recurrence of her cancer. I am comfort eating and drowning my sorrows. Sorry ladies. Will be back on the wagon tomorrow.

katylessbumpy · 24/01/2008 18:50

Katyless how on earth can you go a day without some bread, I couldn't survive! You certainly have willpower

Now, can you wise calorie counters give me your opinion on the soup I made earlier, I got the recipe from Sainsburys online.
1tbs olive oil
2 carrots chopped
2 leeks chopped
2 sprigs rosemary
1/2 savoy cabbage
200g cooked lentils
1 litre of chicken stock

Tastes delicious, I've just scoffed a huge bowl

B=Cereal bar, orange juice
L=2 WM toast, 2 clemmentines
S=2 slices of "whaffffer theen" ham, 1/2 apple
Now=Above soup

MLP sorry to hear about your Mum.

katylessbumpy · 24/01/2008 19:42

haven't a clue on the calories but if you were doing ww that would be about 1/2 a point so very good for you

i miss bread but it makes me really bloated and uncomfortable and once i start eating it i can't stop,so i just don't have it

today i've had
b special k sustain and skimmed milk
l no point soup
d ww meal
snacks have been wafer thin ham and fruit.also had 2litres of water,think i've cracked this diet thing

MrsFish · 24/01/2008 20:19

B = 2 crumpets and flora
L = Bowl of sausage casserole (leftovers from last night) 2 crumpets
T = piece of cod with a tomato and herb relish, served with spinach and a potato rosti.
Bowl of fruit salad and one tablespoon of vanilla icecream. 2 glasses of fizz.

I do love bread and bready stuff, I would have toast or bread over chocolate anyday

Not a great day today, must try better tomorrow and I haven't done any exercise yet either so must remedy that over the weekend.

currantbunmum - hardly any calories in that soup... have another bowl

discoverlife glad you got seen at the docs so you can now start to get better.

mylittlepudding - sorry to hear about your mum

discoverlife · 24/01/2008 20:34

katylessbumpy have you tried wholemeal for the bloating. But maybe I shouldn't give you hints on how to have bread. My trigger is biscuits. I am a mean Mummy, I don't have biscuits in the house anymore. The kids wouldn't get a look in anyway so they aren't missing anything.

mylittlepudding · 24/01/2008 20:40

She got 4 months.

I can't really eat but have had a drink.
Stupid job.
Stupid ovarian cancer - my own field too. Irony, huh?

katylessbumpy · 24/01/2008 20:44

pollywobbledoodle · 24/01/2008 22:12

oh, mylittlepud, 4 months in remission is so little time isn't it, how awful for you and your mum. I was going to say and the rest of your family but then realised that i don't know if you have any more immediate family.It's typical of life that it has happened when you have just got a job a distance away isn't it. Will she be having chemo?

life trundling on here, had persuaded myself that i was back to my normal self today but then went out to mum and child group and was wobbling all over the place and so tired after....need to keep taking it steady i think....

Am liking paul mckenna's take on things....all about defining your goals and making them more and more real using visual imagery, combined with really noticing the food that we eat and the taste of it and making an effort to slow down and notice the points at which you become hungry and full...interesting so far...have been doing one of his taste experiments and actually when i concentrate i don't like the taste of hula hoops or strong pickled onions which i never would have said....still like chocolate tho

today
brekkie...muesli
lunch.....mackeral salad sarnie.apple. a few hula hoops. 2 truffles
afternoon..a crumpet
eve........veg and butterbean stew with a dumpling and rice. orange
