I was travelling back through France and didn't realise it was a bank holiday, and had run out of nappies. I had him sat on a towel for 400 miles, then ran around the ferry asking every parent on the ship if they had any spare nappies.

katylessbumpy · 21/01/2008 15:56

discoverlife that is funny
i have just had the mums at school howling when i told them what i'd done.no doubt i'll be asked in the morning if i remembered to put one on her

When my second DS was born and it was time to register his name, I went with him and DH forgetting the nappy. As we've registered him, we decided to celebrate with a nice meal out. While approaching the restaurant i realized theat it was No2 and I needed the nappy (which I thought I packed with me). I had to run to a near by Boots and then get in to loo with him to change. As I was changing him, I realized that i shouldn't trust him with the tissues as he wanted to eat them! Anyway, that was our special day which eventually was celebrated after a big fuss. one of my friende said to me that each time we have a baby we deliver some of our memory as well. it feels true in my case.

discoverlife · 21/01/2008 16:19

"we deliver some of our memory", that could be so true. Why is it that every time I have a newborn in tow (only mine I assure you). I always manage to leave a shop without the baby at least once, as if I hadn't had them?

katylessbumpy · 21/01/2008 16:28

susiecutiemincepies · 21/01/2008 19:51

hello all
Sorry not been on for a while. things kind of went from bad to worse for me last week, and i had a terrible time with my back. Was supposed to be taking DD to monkey music with a friend and her LO's and as i was getting up from the sofa to leave, my back did something horrendous.... I've been on the bed ever since.
DH did not come home at the weekend, he was on nights. I had forgotten he was. So no chance to go out and tlak properly face to face.
Anyway, things are much much better on that front. We have managed to talk a HUGE amount on the phone instead. fell happier about things now. Just need to see him face to face now.

I had my best friend come and stay for a few days to look after me and Isobel. He also brought me my b-day pressie: a juicer!!!! It is FAB! I recommend it to all of you!

So, every day, he has juiced me marvelous, healthy juices first thing, and mid morning and afternoon. He researched various juices to help me heal, good for my pain and good for my soul apparently [wink I have to say, it actually has really pepped me up!

I have done it myself today and yesterday so am keeping it up. He's a bit of a 'new age' fanatic and into anything different and 'way out' on the health front. He is trying me to do Gillian Mckeiths diet plans, but i cannot really afford to buy all the different ingredients she wants you to eat. I dont mind having the juices she recommends though.
I'm being good food wise. except for the odd biccy in the middle of the night, when awake with the back.

Today:
B:Carrot (5) apple,(2) kiwi,(1) celery (1) ginger (1" square piece) juiced.
Special K cereal with skimmed milk
L Boiled egg on wholemeal toast
D Stir fry chicken and veggies with sweet and sour sauce, tea spoon of olive oil to fry, and low fat/sugar sweet and sour sauce.
all very nice

Have read through, WELL DONE MLF on the job!!! I cannot remember where it was, but bloody well done to you!!

polly hope you are feeling ok? you were a bit wobbly and not yourself last time we spoke... hope things a little more settled for you.

Sorry everyone else, I'm being a bit crap, and also Isobel is crying in her room... so, hope you are all ok, and diets going well, and life is good for you .

So sorry ,no personals, again...

susiecutiemincepies · 21/01/2008 22:02

hi katy and Polly.

I"m not sure about this weekend. He is possibly working again, but wont know until later this week. he's trying to et down on the train on thursday so he'll be here friday and saturday in the day. If he's on for sat night again, he'll go up on the train in the afternoon on saturday If not, he'll stay until monday morning. Finers crossed hey...

Managing not to pick at anything tonight. Have just had 3 very large mugs of tea, and sucked a few boiled sweets. which I reckon must still be better than gobbling down biccies... ??

fedda · 21/01/2008 22:08

Hi, Katy. You put me in the mood for soup. B - 4 cherry tomatoes, after school drop - 3 small bananas
L - what was left from steak and kidney pie without pastry - just the feeling which was nice.
Cup of tea with jam in it. Crackers with tahini 9couldn't eat tahini as I found it soooo bitter. Is it just me, a bad jar or is tahini bitter?)
9:20 - was sooo hungry and made soup with carro, celery, garlic, frozen peas and can chick peas with carry powder and gravy granuls which work for soups for me - just used 2 tea spoons with hot liquid and added to my soup. it was good for me.

katylessbumpy · 21/01/2008 22:19

i'm liking my soups at the moment, think its because the weather is so bad.i've never had tahini fedda so couldn't tell you

susie i hope he makes it home, sounds you have cleared the air with him.boiled sweets should be better than biscuits, well done on resisting dunking one in your tea

discoverlife · 21/01/2008 23:17

Hi all, not feeling well, I've such a sore throat (really hard coughs) and a hot dry temperature and I am aching. I am wondering if I have caught tonsilitis off my daughter. Can you catch tonsilitis? Even if you had your tonsils our when you were 8?
Dont know about weighing in, I think I will just crawl away and have a bout of man flu..
Why do I never have any lemon in the house for hot honey and lemon. Would just hot honey work, or should I just sip the honey from a spoon (a bit too sweet I think)?

A quicky for soups, keep a bag of frozen mixed veg lurking in the freezer, then when you want some soup, boil it up with some onin, a stock cube and some corn flour. To blend or not to blend, is the question.

susiecutiemincepies · 22/01/2008 00:47

you can catch the same thing as your daughter, it just cant be called tonsiliis... a horrible throat infection instead DO hope you feel better soon. my best friend and I used to pas it back and forward when we were at school. If she had it, i'd have it within a day or so, and vice versa

GOod luck with your mornings... I have just spent a huge amount doing my online shop. Not alot of actual food in the 'basket' either... oh well, i'm sure I can make it all into simething when it comes! alot of fruit and veg. some nice things for Isobel.

meat is so bloody expensive though isn't it?

catch you all in the morning sometime.

Oh, i'm having my MRI scan tomorrow. Dreading it. SO much. I HATE them. it was cancelled last time... fingers crossed it actually happens tomorrow though.

discoverlife · 22/01/2008 11:02

Morning all, off to do the shopping and buy lots of honey. It really worked at soothing the throat, but I only had the dregs at the bottom of the bottle. I will be weighing in tomorrow. Catch you later.

susiecutiemincepies · 22/01/2008 11:54

hiya

Breakfast:
Fresh juiced carrots, apples celery, cucumber and ginger. ( much nicer than it sounds ) and a slim fast shake.

Lunch: will be a slim fast shake
Dinner: waiting for my shopping to be delivered and cannot remember what i've bought, so gawd knows!! something really really GOOD though

I ordered all good things, veggies and fruits and some organic meat of some sort. I cannot recall putting anything that shouldnt be there, in the basket... time will tell hey!

katylessbumpy · 22/01/2008 13:59

I've got earache! It really hurts! Along with a fairly mild cold. I haven't had an ear infection in years.

My mum has been staying, is why I have been quiet. And she babysat last night, so DP and I had a nice meal, and stuffed the diet. I feel like I've lost this week though

Breakfast - w/m toast and flora extra light
Lunch - shared a roast chicken and salad sandwich with dd, low fat yogurt.

Hope today goes ok, susie.

Your tonsils can grow back, discoverlife, mine have.

katylessbumpy · 22/01/2008 14:51

i didn't know your tonsils can grow back
sorry to hear your feeling crappy mylittlepudding, hope we aren't having another round of virtual illness
when are you weighing in?

OP posts:
susiecutiemincepies · 22/01/2008 15:10

Just back from my scan. it was horrible, as expected. So painful towards the end, as I had to lie completely flat, which is something I find very difficult with hips and back.

Mum has taken Isobel off for the afternoon, so I can have a little snooze. I was up at 4am with her. She went back to sleep but I didn't. I hadn't gone to sleep until after 2am anyway, as was having nice chat with DH who was on nights.

So, going for a sleep I think. I'll be weighing in tomorrow. Fingers crossed girls, I really need to see a loss, to boost me again. if I've not, I feel i might give up. which I dont really want to do, but its so disheartening sometimes isn't it ?

See you all later I hope.

Hope you feel better discoverlife and MLF sorry you are both feeling poorly bloody miserable hey. sending lots of healing vibes your way.
