Hey yal! Have lost a few pounds, but have been poorly with chest infection. Most keen to cook fresh, home prepared meals, so much better for me and ds! Mmmmm!

discoverlife · 10/01/2008 01:53

I won't be on much this week , I have been told off for spamming.

Yeh! Told off by a long standing regular. Ive started too many light hearted jokey threads lately so I will be keeping a low profile for a while.
Anyway how do you thin down your 'threads Im on' list? My hide button says its working but it doesn't actually get rid of the stuff from my list.

katylessbumpy · 10/01/2008 11:45

i don't know how you thin it down but they do tend to disapear after a few days.i'll miss you discoverlife you can hide out in here til it blows over

I am planning on lurking in my favourites, don't worry I'll shove my penny's worth in when you least expect it.

katylessbumpy · 10/01/2008 12:08

i'll hold you to that

Hi all.

Today;
gruel, coffee
pasta with a bit of stir in seeeds of change sauce
chicken korma (healthy version made with yoghurt), brown rice, veg
snacks - 3 oatcakes and hummus, nuts, fruit

Katy - I guessed 7lbs because thats how much I lost on my 1st week on ww after ds1. Well done!

My mil has gone a bit mad, I think. She never bought ds1 anything. Its not an issue as she loves him to bits and thats the main thing. She never helped me out and I remember when I hinted at it she just said 'Well, I was on my own when I had children and there was no one to help me'. Fair enough. So we've kind of had a civil relationship. We're not close at all but we've never argued or anything.
Anyway, since ds2 has come along (Oct), she has been buying tons of stuff. Toys, books and clothes (Expensive stuff from places like Hamleys and Debenhams). She gave me £250 in my birthday card. She's been cooking and bringing food round and offering to help out in any way. Now, she has asked me if I want to go shopping with her in the sales because she wants to buy me some jewellery!
I am a bit overwhelmed and confused. Whats this all about??

Mils are mad, aren't they?

Hope everyone's managing to be good!

currantbunmum · 10/01/2008 17:06

Hmm, not sure what is going on today. I keep feeling hungry.

So far

B=Cereal bar, orange juice
S=Rich tea biscuit
L=3 fish fingers, 5 oven chips, spoonful of baked beans
S=Handful of mixed dried fruit and nuts

And I thought I would treat myself to a Pizza Express Margarita for dinner, as DH will be working late!
It is only 520 calories

Now I've written it down it's not too bad is it?

currantbunmum · 10/01/2008 17:07

Discoverlife have you really been told off?

Name and shame them!

MrsFish · 10/01/2008 17:16

Today

B = 1oz Rice Krispies, 4floz Skimmed milk
L = Carrot & parsnip soup, 2 crumpets, flora light
S = large cappucino whilst in town
T = Half a Trout with Be Good to Yourself Ceasar Salad.

Friend coming round tonight to do a session on the cross trainer and weights/sit ups etc

So far I think I have been good.
Slice of cheese on toast
Quarter of a melon
milk in teas.
Dinner I think is going to be my let down. As I havn't even thought about it till now and look at the time! So I think it's going to be - Diced chicken pan fried (only a tichy bit of butter -promise) with roasted onions and stips of roasted/ skinned red pepper. Then cream added and brought up to heat. Piles of pasta. Or shall I be good and make it a tomato based sauce? I think I will decide once the chicken is cooked and see what my taste buds want.
As to the telling off, I have been posting an awful lot lately, but I was tempted to go into a topic she started 'because she was lonely' late last night and tell her to shut up , as the rest of us wanted some sleep! But I didn't, I just swung me knorks and rose above the provocation.

katylessbumpy · 10/01/2008 18:34

discoverlife i am so pleased the nork swinging came in useful
have the tomato based sauce, pour the cream away NOW! your hips will thank you

OP posts:
discoverlife · 10/01/2008 18:50

Hips? what are hips? I seem to remember them at one time, somewhere between nipple and knee aren't they?

currantbunmum · 10/01/2008 19:11

Katylessbumpy this is my 10th day, I started on the 1st, basically I made myself feel completely sick on NYE just eating "nibbles" and drinking champagne with DH.

I was ruthless and threw away anything that may tempt me that was open, sealed packs of things have been put out of view. I'm actually quite good so long as I can't see it

Thanks for all the support and replying.

discoverlife · 10/01/2008 19:30

Disgusting Taste Alert

I have just snaffled a slice of melon..... After slicing it with the knife I had just used for cutting the .......GARLIC

Gag....Gag.....GAG....

katylessbumpy · 10/01/2008 19:51

are you eating enough protein currantbunmum?it can sometimes keep you from picking.i've been eating waferthin ham and it seems to have kept my hunger at bay

did you choose the tomato base discoverlife?or are you just having the melon pmsl

OP posts:
currantbunmum · 10/01/2008 20:32

That might be it, the only protein today was from the fish fingers and baked beans. I can't be bothered to cook just for myself when DH has to work late, hence the PE pizza.

katylessbumpy · 10/01/2008 21:12

have you tried my mushrooms?they really fill you up and only take 10 mins

OP posts:
discoverlife · 10/01/2008 21:14

The halo stayed put.
I actually put a bit of tomato and basil sauce in the pasta and had chicken with roasted tomatoes, peppers onion and some fresh basil. Yummy.

katylessbumpy · 10/01/2008 21:18

give it a polish

where is everyone tonight?

OP posts:
discoverlife · 10/01/2008 21:24

Just putting DS2 to bed as we have a really early morning tommorrow as we are clearing my Grans (Greatgranny) flat (as she is going into care) and my daughter is receiving all her furniture. 2 problems there, its 120 miles away and I have to hire a van for it all, and secondly DD doesn't have a place of her own yet so it all has to go into storage, and who is it that has to sort it all out, ME! Grrr.
Plus side is that DS2 gets to see his Nanna sooner than February.

pollywobbledoodle · 10/01/2008 22:01

evening,
well katy, my house is well dusted now , nork swinging to do the front windowsills was interesting but i find that if you wave whilst doing it, people forget that you are in the nude....BTW what is your mushroom thing?

sorry you've copped it discoverlife....i think that if you stick your head above the parapet at all you'll get flak at some point. As katy said, lick your wounds over here....well done on the tomato sauce....

Jahan, is gruel porridge or something different?

Currant bun that looks ok as a menu to me

today i appear to have eaten no vegetables other than onion....must do better!

brekkie...2 crumpets with marmite
lunch.....1 crumpet with jam, piece of stollen, apple,
eve.......2 homemade cheese and onion sausages with brown sauce on 2 slices of wholemeal bread. half a tin of tomatoes from a tin....can you tell i left it too late to do much except grab easy food?
