'Twas I katy that said about little pickers wearing big knickers...

I think I read it on a card once, many years ago

I've managed to stave the picking off this evening by drinking water. Really feel full up. Doesnt usually stop the peckish feelings though does it? maybe just a one of tonight. mind you, i'll burn a fair few calories just walking back and forth to the loo

must not have anymore fluid tonight, i'll be peeing all night

Think I might keep it varied abit though, and have porridge for breakfast. THat way, i'm still being good, but wont get bored of just the shakes. I dont intend to do slimfast every day, but even if I have few days a wek like this, i'll be doing better than before.

Wish I could do some exercise. just not able to. 'Tis only the food I can change. Still, has worked plenty of times in the past though.

Bellidancing sounds great discoverlife DO let us know how it goes, what fun

katylessbumpy · 06/01/2008 22:06

i salute you susiecutie(still wearing your xmas name )you have saved me many a calorie today
the slimfasts do get a bit bleurgh after a bit don't they? i was grateful for solid food in the end.

please, be careful with water. Even good things can turn out to be bad for us when we overdo them.

katylessbumpy · 06/01/2008 22:08

i saw something the other night about that.is it something to do with your salt ? ie being dehydrated

OP posts:
fedda · 06/01/2008 22:15

katy, I don't want to make anyone alarmednews.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/magazine/6263029.stm

susiecutiemincepies · 06/01/2008 22:17

nah, I'd never drink too much water, trust me

I'd never be able to drink as much as 3 liters, no way more than that, and 3 liters is perfectly safe

Te jelly beans just got me dragged into their tub. still, on balance, could be a heck of a lot worse!

katylessbumpy · 06/01/2008 22:21

i was right about the salt ! it was on something i watched.he did a triathalon and then collapsed so they put him on a fluid drip but just water not the other one[sorry, can't remember which) and his heart stopped as his body couldn't cope with the amount of fluid he had taken in.thankfully the managed to save him .tiz shocking though

evening all, checking in for daily pep up!

hello spottyshoes, good to "see" you and congrats on the weight loss

well done all who have gone thru the hunger [gnawing face]...will have try again tomorrow ....you go! susie...you've had a lightbulb moment haven't you?

was worth it tho', curry buffet was gorgeous, and whilst the following might sound a lot it was all small portions [except the fruit where i went to town]!!

brekkie...2 crumpets and marmite
lunch.....2 onion bhajis, half a poppadom and mango dip, plain rice, veg curry, bombay potatoes, spinach curry, bit of naan, fruit
just.....apple and an orange

so all in all an interesting way of using my cals for the day

katylessbumpy · 06/01/2008 22:32

wow you did really well at the buffet!
it translates for me as- stuff as much as you can in- lol
but that is because i am a greedy guts

OP posts:
nappyaddict · 06/01/2008 22:32

can i join?? i want to start walking more. i currently do 2 miles a day but i think my body is used to it so it doesn't actually do anything. how far do you lot walk each day?

susiecutiemincepies · 06/01/2008 22:33

Polly, that was not a bad buffet IMO I think you[ve been sensible actually. Had a little of what you liked, and enjoyed it, and therefore not said Sod the diet, i'll start agin next week... IYSWIM Well done you

katy/ Fedda , The fluids given/not given were probably isotonic, or non isotonic... its important you know The average joe blogs drinking the correct amount of fluid in one day, will not have any problems with it. Poor runner though, you'd like to think you'd be well looked after should such an occasion arise. Casting no aspersions here, but I think it unlikely any of us encounter such a problem Fedda, please dont be worrying there

Oooh what i could do do an onion bhaji and a chicken Korma now!

katylessbumpy · 06/01/2008 22:34

not verywill be doing more though as dc back at school tomorrow

OP posts:
discoverlife · 06/01/2008 22:36

Im afraid I don't, I'm a carer and have to stick with DH, plus I am waaaaay past the pram pushing stage (unless DD gets in on the act--- then I kill her). But I do garden, and fill potholes in the garden and chop logs and rod out blocked drains etc. So I get a bit of exercise just not really enough.

susiecutiemincepies · 06/01/2008 22:37

hi nappyaddict

I dont personally do any walking really, but I think we have a few runners here and some other general exercisers

DO join in, of course you are welcome

nappyaddict · 06/01/2008 22:38

katy- how far away is the school? can't wait til ds is at school - it will make me do more!!

susiecutiemincepies · 06/01/2008 22:38

susiecutiemincepies · 06/01/2008 22:40

how are you BTW Nappyaddict? not seen you around in a long while

pollywobbledoodle · 06/01/2008 22:46

hi nappyaddict, can't help on the walking front ....and ride around on a mobility scooter being rowdy and swinging my stick...we seem to have a mix of sportyfolk and shall i say, the more sedentary, for one reason or another......maybe send child to the most distant preschool you can find!

thank you katy and susie.....i felt i was very restrained compared to my pre-diet self....and i do tell myself that that's the whole point for me...consistent changes....however it took a lot when they were all trotting up for their fifth visits before pudding...mind you i was the only one not groaning and opening buttons afterwards [smuggish]

fedda...i have no chance of OD ing on water...i have to really remember to drink between meals

susie i'm around most eves in the week after 8 if you still want to e mail me

katylessbumpy · 06/01/2008 22:48

it's about 10 minutes away if i walk fast ,so 20 mins twice a day.i do sometimes take dd for a walk in her buggy but that usually ends up with me shopping

OP posts:
nappyaddict · 06/01/2008 23:00

not old enough for preschool yet, he's only 18 months!!

susie - i haven't been anywhere ... you must be blind lol!!

susiecutiemincepies · 06/01/2008 23:01

Katy, I also have a slight weekness for 'taking Isobel for a small walk' and ending up at the shops. I always set myself the target of walking to the river. Then I think, I"ll just get to the bridge... then I think, oh, i'll go over the bridge... before I know it, i'm in the center of town, surrounded by shops. ( or, as I convince myself, benches, and more chance of being able to get transport home )

I have got to know all the shops in Manchester, intimately, 'just taking Isobel for fresh air' as when we are there, I'm either holed up in the hotel, or wandering round the shops. I usally set out to find a coffee shop, then get sucked into the Arndale center or just into that MASSIVE Next there. still, exercise is exercise after all

MInd you, there are plenty of days I dont get over the front door step.

polly I will do, if thats ok. Just felt too rotten to get online to make any sense Things a little more settled just now with my sister, but still have a few things to pick your fabulous brain with.

susiecutiemincepies · 06/01/2008 23:03

just moving in different circles maybe NA

maybe its me whos not been around so much actually!
