nappyaddict it's never too young for a few hours in a distant creche preferably attached to a leisure centre [or so i'm told by my more active friends]

nappyaddict · 06/01/2008 23:10

susiecutie i think i am being a bit dense here. do you have another name that i would know you by?!!

the only places i can recall seing you were on the eastenders sma thread and the one about sending a 7 yo on a plane ...

nappyaddict · 06/01/2008 23:10

i was going to join a gym but the creche cos something stupid like £4 an hour

pollywobbledoodle · 06/01/2008 23:11

that's a lot...

discoverlife · 06/01/2008 23:12

Hey Pollywolly, can I pick your brains as well. DH needs a scooter as well (we have a Shop Mobility in our town and he uses that mostly), but we need an easily transportable one to take on holiday with us, could you recommend one.
He also wants to be an irripressible scooter user and has threaten to wear his Hell's angel t'shirts when its warmer. But for now its the thermals, hat, scarf and thick coat.

katylessbumpy · 06/01/2008 23:16

i'm off to bed ladies,i have to get up and dressed in the morning

i have a rio 3 scooter which i bought second hand and you can break into bits to fit in the boot.....not ideal in that the 3 wheels make it a bit unstable when not on shopping centre style smooth floors but it is very manoevrable ....there is a 4 wheel version (rio 4)

tga do a superlight one which is indeed light but it's expensive new

lots of firms will bring samples to your home to try

link to page...scroll down to travelscooters

www.mobilitymegastore.co.uk/cat8_1.htm

if you buy a secondhand one proudly advertised as hardly used, factor in the cost of a new battery!

i also have an on road scooter and a hoist to lift it in and out of the seat alhambra...but that's another story!

pollywobbledoodle · 06/01/2008 23:28

you can also hire them...might be worth trying for a holiday until you know what you want

oh, and shopmobility has a wide network..can get them in most towns and usually just have to produce your membership card to your local one to be accepted on your holiday scheme IME

HTH

also off to bed...dd back to preschool tomorrow

susiecutiemincepies · 06/01/2008 23:30

Nappyaddict, we talk a long while ago, I was susiecutiebananas, which i will be again when I can be arsed find the energy to change it back

we talked by email a few times about about men

you are not going mad lovely, promise!

pollywobbledoodle · 06/01/2008 23:31

and if you wanted to use a pavement scooter (see link) and be a bit more mobile , you could have one of these heavier scooters and have an arm hoist fitted to lift it in and out of most cars for you

(motability will help spread the cost if the initial outlay is too high....sorry, don't know your circs)

susiecutiemincepies · 06/01/2008 23:33

Typo : when we talked

was going to add that polly about shopmobility. They have brilliant schemes, have been a godsend to me many times. sometimes when i've started off on foot, and not managed to finish. DH has been able to go and rescue me to get me back to the car.

fedda · 06/01/2008 23:34

Ah! I had 3 rich tea bicuits with tea and apricot jam!

nappyaddict · 07/01/2008 00:04

ah i think i remember now susie ... was it about men disappearing for weeks and weeks?

discoverlife · 07/01/2008 00:05

Self drive to portugal, two or 3 centre, then amble our way back through Spain and France stopping where we feel like. So hiring not really possible.

Sorry to hijack thread. Will be quiet now. Promise.

susiecutiemincepies · 07/01/2008 00:13

Dont be daft discoverlife thats what we are all here for! we dont just talk about diets

NA, yes it was, your then BF ( is he sill? ) was being a bit crap... my DH had in the past been a bit crap

I ought to get to bed my self really... althoguh i've just heard a little girl shouting... she's calling and really crying for her daddy, who had to go back up north to work, after she went to bed. She will miss him now, and in the morning. She always spends most of monday, pointing at the front door, holding his slippers saygin daddy... or , playing with his slippers and putting them in and out of her toy box. Its SO SO sad she clearly doesnt understand that he will be back/ he's gone to work etc.. just that hes not here.

best get off and give her a cuddle. catch you all tomorrow.

discoverlife · 07/01/2008 00:15

Ahhh, OK then, I just so enjoy organising holidays that are brill but don't cost much.

nappyaddict · 07/01/2008 00:17

no susie - not together anymore. i got fed up of waiting for him lol!!

have my eye on a new man

i want to book a holiday. want to go travelling around italy for a few weeks i think.

discoverlife · 07/01/2008 00:17

OMG is that the time, and DS is still up? maybe he is asleep on the sofa. Got to hope. Why is it that nobody else thinks about putting him to bed? Grrr. Night all see ya.

katylessbumpy · 07/01/2008 07:49

morning ladies.the dc are going back to schoolmuch as i love them the constant bickering does wear me down.
is anyone weighing in today?

OP posts:
MrsFish · 07/01/2008 08:28

No weighing for me today, will wait till wednesday.
Ds is back to nursery on thursday Well i'm knackered ds2 was awake at 4am, tried to settle him back to sleep as he has been sleeping through the night for the past 3 weeks but ended up giving him a bottle at 5.15 was just dozing again off when ds2 woke up at 6.30 so ended up getting up, now really tired and the weather is lousy so i'm going to be grumpy today, plus I have to go and take ds2 for his 12 week jabs aswell. Luckily I have a big pan of carrot and parsnip soup in the aga so I can snack on that. Mind you I need to do a shop, so there isn't much to snack on anyway

pollywobbledoodle · 07/01/2008 09:10

weds for me too katy. am ready to have a bland day!

discover, i meant hire one in this country and take it with you...i did it for a week when i was first used one....cost about £35 i think...gets a bit expensive tho for a couple of weeks. to buy, if you can, go to a biggish local mobility centre(we went to scootermart in wednesbury and could drive them on site...theres one in wolverhampton if you ever get over that way) and have a look at their reconditionned models, try a few, like cars some scooters fit you better than others....if hubby has probs with his hands he can get one with a D shaped steering wheel and rest his arms on it while driving

katylessbumpy · 07/01/2008 09:17

i was going to as "what's a bland day?" but then remembered your buffet.derrr.
ok dc at school, more of dds clothes to sort and try and sellshe has grown so much over the last few weeks and has thighs just like her mother
today i am having weetabix for breakfast as they fill me up,lunch will be a jacket potato i think, not sure about dinner yet.i'm definately feeling better though.hope the scales show a loss

He does have problems with his hands Polly, he just can't use the ones with paddle levers for the thumbs, but he can use the ones where by you pull forward with all of your fingers. I will have at look at some websites. I have seen some going really cheap on ebay and was wondering about them, I had already thought about needing new batteries for them.

discoverlife · 07/01/2008 13:22

I will be weighing on Wednesday as I want to be really strict for the next 2 days to make up for the depressing/ stressful week I've had. Why do comfort eaters have stressful lives, it wouldn't be so bad if there wasn't any stress to trigger the comfort eating. I really could do with a good shag wander around the garden.
