Carnival · 06/01/2008 11:16

Can I join?

And can I ask which diet regime (if any) you are using or whether you are just cutting out alcohol, chocolate, etc?

Also, I've got a few stones (at least) to lose. I'm going on hols at the end of Jan and want to shift some pounds quickly (I've been bad over Christmas). Does anyone know of a good detox for quick results?

discoverlife · 06/01/2008 11:23

I really should get my slobby arse into gear, sat here on my 3rd cup of tea, in my dressing gown, watching the cat trying to catch the birds on the bird feeder. The cat is knobbling my experiment. I wanted to time how long it would take the greedy beggers (the birds) to empty the bird feeder, and now the cat is sat underneath waiting for lunch to drop by.
So I think it will be Brunch today of the 'I havn't got a clue variety'
Dinner tonight is also of the 'lets look in the freezer and hope it doesn't take too long to defrost variety'
But it has to be either pasta, or new potato's as we had rice yesterday and I've run out of normal spuds.
Just thinking for a mo there, I may do a beef cobbler for dinner. mince and onions in gravy with layers of sliced potatoes on top and baked till the spuds are cooked and crispy at the edges.

katylessbumpy · 06/01/2008 11:28

discoverlife after i've been to fedda's house i'll be round to yours for beef cobbler .mmmmmm

carnival,we are all doing different things.i'm on weightwatchers.the cereal diet is quite good for a short, sharp shock and special k is on offer at morrisons so it can be done cheaply

remember to drink lots of water

pollywobbledoodle · 06/01/2008 11:33

hi carnival, theres no thread regime....i think we all know what we need to do (the boring old "eat less, excercise more") but we do swap tips and have a natter

katy (well done on the diet coke detox) am glad you said about the empty feeling , it hit me hard yesterday and i was on high carb stuff all day....has it gone? Shall i just try to push thru it? is this why at the very beginning of this thread everyone seemed to have early nights?....ah so many questions....

have had 2 crumpets and marmite as a late brekkie to take the edge off my appetite as we're off to a curry buffet lunch and i can't afford to be starving...it would be embarrassing to actually eat the table

see you later

katylessbumpy · 06/01/2008 11:48

yes polly the empty feeling has gone it was bloody awful though .
what time for the curry buffet?

have to early as i'm off for 2 dinners later lol.can't you tell i'm bored.got loads of clothes to put away but can't be botheredi want to do something exciting.i tend to get itchy feet at weekends and get the urge to go to blackpool and things.don't know why as i never go !

spottyshoes · 06/01/2008 15:31

Happy New year Katybumpers!!!!! Hope you're all ok?

I have lost 12lbs now, although stopped the Kickboxing and pigged out over Xmas so I'm sure the 4lbs I've lost since i've not been able to get on here is the little muscle I had turning into flab . Anyhoo, new year, new start and all that, I've just popped by the old house with the laptop for a quick internet fix and to pick up a dusty old step machine - fully intend to use it too......maybe. Thinking thin .

I'm up for a bit of nork swinging in the brisk air! Babyshoes now has 8 teeth so anything to cool and soothe lol.

They still havent started work on our house and its been 5 weeks already - tsk, bloomin builders - so looks like quite a while until I'll be back said arnie stylee. Which is a pity as I'm finding it really hard to stay motivated with not having to publicly 'out' my food habits everyday

Till next time KB's! ra ra raaaaaaaaaaaa
xxxxx

katylessbumpy · 06/01/2008 15:53

evening all

I've been SO SO good today, and feeling really virtuous.

Need to keep this up girls and i'll be doing really well. Please keep supporting me and remind me how good I feel now

Had slimfast for breakfast, and lunch.
passed up chinese, and cakes, and croissants , see, told you I was being good

snacks:
fruit, and low fat yoghurts x2.
Lots and lots of water, and tea with no sugar reckon just stopping this will make a huge difference long term.

If I get a sweet head on later, I will have myself a few malteasers. They're not too bad, especially if not over indulged, and considering how well i've done, it'll be fine. NOT that i'm rewarding myself with them, but I just feel i've made a big change today, which I fully intend to continue with, so no harm in it. IF I dont let myself, i'll just end up being norty again.

Hope you are all feeling ok, and still thinking positive, thin thoughts

Evening all

I have been waiting to get better so I can start exercising. My stinking cold has finally nearly gone, but the other night I popped a vertebrae out on my neck again, and have been in pain with my neck and shoulders since, so another trip to the chiropractors again tomorrow if I can get an appointment

Anyhoo I started well with porridge for breakfast, then scoffed a couple of homemade gingerbread men , went to visit my aunt and she invited me to stay for dinner, so I had a huge beef roast it was yummy though, but seeing as I ate so much I haven't been hungry since, so I have foregone tea to make up for it

tangarine · 06/01/2008 21:03

Hi susie and well done, sounds like you've had a great day. I started buying the funsize bags of malteasers so that I could have a little treat every evening. But as I'm detoxing I can't even fall back on that to cheer me up!

Today: breakfast - 2 slices toast and marmalade, cup of hot water
Lunch - Delia's shepherd's pie with leeks, satsuma
Snack - 2 slices olive bread, yoghurt (after 2 hours at the parks with ds's I deserved it)
Tea - bowl of special K

Also had a bit of the gravy from ds's casserole at their tea time.

Lots of water and a mint tea before bed.

Tomorrow I'm back at work so will be back on the shapers lunches.

Night night!

tangarine · 06/01/2008 21:05

MrsFish · 06/01/2008 21:08

katylessbumpy · 06/01/2008 21:18

katylessbumpy · 06/01/2008 21:26

OP posts:
MrsFish · 06/01/2008 21:30

I had a sneaky peek at the scales this morning, not lost an ounce so far desperatly need to start exercising. My problem is that I have yo yo dieted for so many years now, its always an extra struggle to lose any weight I need to lose 2 and a half stone by mid september, so I had better get my skates on

Not succumbed to food yet, MN is keeping me occupied

katylessbumpy · 06/01/2008 21:37

you've given yourself plenty off time mrsfish.
i am also a yoyo dieter.i lost 3 stone after ds1,5 stone after ds2[my craving was chips and gravy ] and loads more before and after that!i have lost just over 3 stone since dd was born at the end of april but can quite easily pile it back on.i have to be really strict or i tend to slide back to the chippy.
it is great here for keeping me motivated

OP posts:
MrsFish · 06/01/2008 21:43

That's what I'm hoping, that you will all keep me on the straight and narrow. I'm hoping I will have lost at least half a pound when I weigh in on wednesday though. Starting tomorrow I will attempt half an hour on the cross trainer every day, see if that makes a difference Need to do something, squeezed into some pre pregnancy jeans today and proceeded to burst out of them at the thigh.. literally, I sat down at my aunts and they ripped about 3 inches in length at the top

katylessbumpy · 06/01/2008 21:46

the cross trainer sounds like a great idea, maybe break it down into 2x15mins.i always get bored before i do half an hour(or knackered )pmsl

OP posts:
MrsFish · 06/01/2008 21:49

Good idea, me too

So 15 mins all out, 15 mins sit ups and stretches, 15 mins CT all out again, then die
