p.s. I don't recall the ad....... but I now have a very strong mental image of it!

pollywobbledoodle · 04/01/2008 15:03

discoverlife you have to do *'s around every word you want to go bold. PS I like your vertically challenged version of treat avoidance.

my only other tip really is to develop sensitive teeth that can't cope with sugary snacks...unfortunately the special toothpaste put paid to that one.....i did genuinely lose the taste for chocs after about 5 days without....unfortunately tried to hard to get over the (ahem) problem....i'm more of a limiter than a cutter out

quiet day here tidying up the xmas stuff (ie trying to clear out cupboard space to squeeze it in)

muesli and skimmed milk for brekkie,
tuna salad sarnie , a few of hubbie's crisps and a penguin for dinner
it will be potato, leek and broccolli hotpot thingie tonight.
am going to the flicks and will try to avoid the crap (or at least limit myself to one thing!)

my current big thing is to try and avoid nescafe cappuccinos......all together now please "POLLY THEY TASTE AWFUL AND MAKE YOU WOBBLE"

katylessbumpy · 04/01/2008 15:43

polly ..do they not do a skinny version so you can still have it?

sounds like everyone else is doing ok.

today i have had..
breakfast 2xweetabix with banana and skimmed milk
lunch green salad with cottage cheese and pineapple,2 crispbreads and a bag of french fries
dinner pea and ham soup!

newsflash i have had NO diet coke and do not have any in the house ! oh how my halo will shine

OP posts:
SugarSkyHigh · 04/01/2008 16:00

you have had dinner already?!
The earlier i have dinner, the more i eat after dinner.......

yes the putting the sweet snacks out of reach is great but I need them in reach for DC (they always have a biscuit when they come home from school..)
I need to be able to just put the lid back on the tin and not take one (or five) out for myself too!

katylessbumpy · 04/01/2008 16:16

no not had dinner yet lol
just posted it that way in case i don't get chance later
i'm with you.i try and eat dinner a bit later or i pick all night but if i leave it too late i just don't want it and then eat crap!

Take a photo of yourself in a bikini and stick a before and after photo on the treat jar.

So far today Ive had

Ds's left over Rice Krispies
1 apple
2 satsumas
3 crackers with a small wedge of blue brie.
Skimmed milk in all my tea's. (no sugar)
2 bowls of fat free veg soup
1 part baked bread roll + 1 teaspoon butter. (I wanted 3 rolls and 3 tablespoons butter)

Dinner will be a normal meal of Chicken pie, mash and veg with a bit of gravy.

Supper if I have it will be yoghurt. Im thinking of layering it with sliced banana's and museli in a glass. Stripey yougurt surprise.

fedda · 04/01/2008 16:22

Poridge with honey and grapes for breakfast.
Veg home made soup with couliflower, brocoli, potato, carrots, few mushrooms and sweetcorn for lunch - 3 bowls! (speaking of overeating)
2 apples
tea with strawberry jam sweetened with grape juice with grapes
Dinner - salmon with vegies
i'll try my very best to resist those biscuits.

currantbunmum · 04/01/2008 16:28

B= Cereal bar, orange juice
L= Ham sandcwich, coffee
Snack= Clementine, handful of wasabi beans
Supper (later)= Stirfry with vegies, noodles, pork in blackbean sauce.

And probably a bittermint

currantbunmum · 04/01/2008 17:09

HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!

DD's have just asked for some chocolate coins from their treat box and now my mouth is salavating like crazy!

I'm hoping a cup of options will do the trick.

katylessbumpy · 04/01/2008 17:22

go brush your teeth quick, the minty taste will make the chocolate taste foul

OP posts:
currantbunmum · 04/01/2008 17:29

Aaaah, options has worked, I will go and clean my teeth too (good idea.)

I'm also feeling slightly stressed as my manager has just phoned me at home, to tell me as I haven't booked all my annual leave, she will slot me in where she can, I did ask what was available so I could try to fit in, she said it's all booked

Don't you just love the NHS, thank God it's only 7 hours a week.

katylessbumpy · 04/01/2008 17:35

well done currantbunmum,another disaster averted
hope you get your leave sorted

I like the trick with the toothpaste. I must remember it next time i want something i shouldn't have.

katylessbumpy · 04/01/2008 18:31

it works fedda! bit tricky if your out and about but chewing can work

OP posts:
fedda · 04/01/2008 18:37

That's good to know. Thank you, katy.

blanki · 04/01/2008 19:15

discoverlife, Photo of me in a bikini would terrify everyone , not just me!
I've got stinking cold, how do I avoid it when ds sneezes and coughs all over me? (not yet 3)Just feel so bad when he is poorly and then when I get it,I feel even worse because of how rubbish I feel and much worse as a child, poor ds!
Has curbed my appetite though and everything tastes of throat sweets anyway!
Had baked tottie with tuna, no idea how it tasted!

Jahan · 04/01/2008 21:04

Well done Currantbunmum. I had to come on here to avoid the call of food.
I've no idea why I feel like eating as I'm not hungry and I've no craving for anything in particular. Its annoying. I will not give in.

susiecutiemincepies · 04/01/2008 21:07

Hey ladies

Still not eating much at all. Althoguh i did have 3 plain crackers with a small slice of brie on each. really small.
Also, have had 3 satsumas, and a large glass of orange juice.

Feeling crappy, so just going to get into bed early, and taking a mug of horlicks with me.

MIght end up not getting to sleep so may be back on in a while. DH is trying to get home first thing in the morning. I'm praying he can, so I can have the day on the bed hopefully to feel better!

Will love you and leave you all now though. Take care all, and be good...

discoverlife · 04/01/2008 21:10

Why do I always have bad days, when all I want to comfort eat, right at the start of a diet. Ive got a thumping headache and sore throat from crying on and off all day see this
www.mumsnet.com/Talk/2724/450042?stamp=080104210422 for the reason why.
Right now I want some left over Christmas cake. But I better make it a yoghurt.

Fubsy · 04/01/2008 21:26

Just read your thread, Discover, and its shocking. I hope your poor DS feels better once he doesnt have to go back. "Too sensitive indeed!"

Maybe you should have a day or two of comfort eating then get going with the healthy food again.

katylessbumpy · 04/01/2008 21:34

discoverlife that is appallingyour poor ds and poor you.my heart goes out to you x

discoverlife · 04/01/2008 21:46

Thanks ladies. I really apprieciate Mumsnet now because I would have had to bottle it all up, which would have made me worse. As it is I can now talk about it rationally, instead of a red haze decending every time I think about it.

katylessbumpy · 04/01/2008 22:21

glad your feeling a little better
anger makes me do stupid things sometimes which if i have time to calm down i instantly regret
