hi all, havent seen anyone around for a while. so thought i'd start a new thread.
well, i have been stuffing my face since the middle of october! went abroad oct 11th. cant diet whilst on holiday now, can i? but unfortunatley have since been high carbing ti, to various degrees. but, and this is the strange thing, i think my body has actually found a weight it is happy at. because i havent acutally put any wight on,,,, well, yet anyways.

can this be real? at my lowest, i made it down to 59.6 kg, about 9 5. the being under 60 kg was very important psychologically. this morning was 60.3. yesterday 60.1, and have been thereabouts since october really. is this likely to be my new optimum wight, or is it just a prelude before i balloon back up agaiN?

i think i need to go back to induction levels for a while. my target was always 57, or just under nine stone. anyone out there willing to join me?

I've not been low-carbing since i became pregnant back in February! However, now i'm finding that the weight is falling off me and my body seems to be shrinking daily! The last time i weighed myself i was 4lbs off my pre-pregnancy weight, which was about a week or so ago (baby is 3 weeks old) so i'm quite curious to jump on the scales again some time soon.

Low carbing worked great for me, but i'm not sure it's something i want to follow at the moment.

All the very best of luck to all of you!!

pukkapatch · 28/12/2007 12:23

wow rg, i'm so out of it, i didnt realise you had a new lo. congratulations.

three weeks post partum you cant be low carbing as such anyways. i think the general sorr of low carb diet, without tthe induction levels is actually areally good way to eat, but i;m not actually manageing that at the moment. had a bagel for brakfast!

Carb levels aren't the only thing that matters pukka. If you are eating fewer calories than you are burning, regardless of what they are made up of, you will lose weight. Some people find that hard to do if they eat carbs as they binge and crave.

I'll join you again in a week or so. Still feeling cack atm and I've lost weight over christmas as I've been ill but it wouldn't do any harm for me to get back to basics for a while. I do my own version of induction these days but it works for me.

pukkapatch · 28/12/2007 12:32

absolutley agree with you oi
i think the reaso why i didnt gain any weight as such over the last half term is that i was quite active in the gym. and eating less quantities. but i really cant continue to hope that will be sufficitent.
and of course, rgpargy is post partum,so shedding the weight is what her body should be doing normally right now.

Thanx pukka!

I think the breastfeeding is helping with the weight loss too. Deffo going to be sticking with that for a bit!

I always enjoy low carbing, but am such a huge carb addict that i have to be really really focused in order to successfully stick to the plan.

A brilliant site with a great forum that has helped me enormously is HERE. I found the help and support on there brilliant! Might be worth a look in if you want some support from low-carb lifers who are very much in the know.

OrmIrian · 28/12/2007 12:44

Ha! RG... I'm very familiar with that site and I suspect pukka is too (if she used to be who I think she was iyswim).

RGPargy · 28/12/2007 12:55
