hi all, havent seen anyone around for a while. so thought i'd start a new thread.
well, i have been stuffing my face since the middle of october! went abroad oct 11th. cant diet whilst on holiday now, can i? but unfortunatley have since been high carbing ti, to various degrees. but, and this is the strange thing, i think my body has actually found a weight it is happy at. because i havent acutally put any wight on,,,, well, yet anyways.

can this be real? at my lowest, i made it down to 59.6 kg, about 9 5. the being under 60 kg was very important psychologically. this morning was 60.3. yesterday 60.1, and have been thereabouts since october really. is this likely to be my new optimum wight, or is it just a prelude before i balloon back up agaiN?

i think i need to go back to induction levels for a while. my target was always 57, or just under nine stone. anyone out there willing to join me?

Well I'm enjoying the food, and realising that if I had gone down the calorie counting route I wouldn't be able to eat like this, so it was definitely worth returning to the fold.

Yesterday: b/fast was 2 poached eggs, lunch was pan fried chicken breast with mushroom curry and cauli mash, dinner was out with friends - steak with spinach and roasted veg.

Today: b/fast was 1 hard boiled egg, lunch was a reprise of yesterday but with green salad instead of cauli mash. Not sure what I'm having for dinner yet.

Did succumb to some Thorntons diabetic toffee today as I really wanted something sweet. I know only too well the effects of the polyols, so I have limited myself to only a few pieces.

How's everyone else doing?

I'm also going to weigh myself tomorrow morning before I go off to Champneys. I couldn't face it earlier in the week - so fingers crossed!

oggsfrog · 12/01/2008 19:18

Can I come back please?

I've been good today......honest...
cheese for breakfast, salmon and cucumber with mayo for lunch, tea was strips of pork fillet fried with garlic, broccoli, red pepper, spring onion, red chilli, loads of black pepper and double cream (yum).
I've had 2 lt water and 3 decaf coffees w/ cream and splenda.
This evening I will be drinking gin and slimline tonic. (Decided to bin the wine as it contains too much sugar)

BecauseImWorthIt · 12/01/2008 19:52

Ah. Wine.

pukkapatch · 13/01/2008 22:20

mmmm, you guys are making me all hungry aga=in.
i have been sooo good. until this evening when i had some chocolate. and its not even nice chocolate. crappy ikea stuff. full of green colourings, and coconut flakes.
but this morning the scales said 9 5. or 59.6. mind you yestereday thye said 59.3. but its definitlyunder 60 kg.
biwi i know they say dont weigh yourself too much, but personally i find it excellent motivation. even those few hundred grams makes a huge differenc to confidence.

This is working for me, now I've got the fridge properly filled, and got my menus sorted. Have managed to feed us all on the same food, with me just missing out the carbs, which is so much better than cooking different meals.

Today was scrambled eggs, slice ham, cherry tom for breakfast
Last nights meatballs, with cheese and lettuce for lunch
Tonight difficult as I have back to back meetings, but maybe KFC (no chips or skin), or if I get home in time, home made burger

Have managed to lay off the wine for 2 nights, hopefully tonight too, then out tomorrow and will have glass of wine

Havent weighed myself, as I dont have any scales, but I do feel a bit slimmer. I have trousers to work out my size, but not ready for the test yet

BecauseImWorthIt · 16/01/2008 16:31

Finally braved the scales on Sunday - 10.2. Not brilliant but about what I expected to be honest.

Anyway, Champneys was lovely - although nowhere near as exclusive as I had expected/been led to believe ('very high chav count' to quote one of my friends!). Lovely treatments and the food was surprisingly good. I was expecting it to be a bit hair shirty, rabbit food but it was very, very nice.

Low carbing is clearly not regarded as healthy eating at Champneys, though, and so there were lots of things I had to avoid/leave out - lots of fruit/honey as well as pasta/rice-based dishes. And breakfast was impossible without paying a supplement - I had to pay £2.75 for 2 poached eggs

However, I was very good (as far as I am aware - not always sure what was in the various sauces/dressings), so will be interested to see what the scales say tomorrow.

oggsfrog · 18/01/2008 10:55

Ah. Bugger it. I give up.

Just curious... how tall are you lot? You weigh about as much as one of my legs. I have considered chopping one off actually as it's the only way I'll get anywhere near my target weight .

BecauseImWorthIt · 18/01/2008 11:01

LOL at chopping off a leg!

I'm 5 foot 2, so it becomes all the more obvious when I put weight on.

Glad to report that I dropped 2lbs during my mini holiday. Things are going well, although I'm going to have to start cutting out the wine a little more than I have been doing.

I'm also considering cutting out coffee, as I've read another book which suggests that caffeine can impede weight loss, and I've realised that the number of cups of coffee that I have has gradually been increasing, so it wouldn't be a bad thing to cut this out for a while.

oggsfrog · 18/01/2008 11:10

I used to have de-caff as it's the caffeine that stimulates insulin production.

BecauseImWorthIt · 18/01/2008 16:13

Not sure I can face the withdrawal headaches though!

BecauseImWorthIt · 27/02/2008 08:42

Is there anyone there?

Going well here so far - target loss is 2lbs per week, which I have managed over the last two weeks, and I'm a pound down this week so far, so hopefully on track for this week as well.

And the scales now start with 9!

So am I talking to myself?!

MaLopez · 27/02/2008 14:16

Still here. Drinking loads of water and taking my Chromium and vitamins. Lost 4lbs since last week Monday and really hoping to ramp up the weight loss. Clothes feel a bit loose.

Brunch was ham and cheese salad with lettuce, peppers and cucumber. Not really hungry now so drank hot water and a slice of lemon for brekkie.

SugarBird · 27/02/2008 18:44

Hi. I'm fairly new on MN but am definitely a (trying to recover) carboholic so hope it's okay to join in here.
BecauseImWorthIt and MaLopez - you're both doing better than me on the weight loss! Very impressive.

I'm still losing inches (well centimetres...) but have upped my fruit and veggie carbs recently so the weight loss has slowed a lot.

My scales now start with 9 as well - now I just need to tone up what's left as it's all a bit wibbly
