Both calories and cookies writer were left.

Yes I’m going to go over today in a controlled way

Not2bObvious · 26/01/2022 09:33

From my recollection of JS, calories are like a budget so you can go over once you just use the allocated over the week. Works very well and was how I approached it last year.
Did 35'ish mins bodypump and a 30 min brisk walk before taxi'ing kids. Scales back to my 2022 low of 165, down 1.2 on last Wednesday so that's nice.

Shattered today aerobics done but not much else will be achieved today

Happierwithouthim · 26/01/2022 10:51

+0.5LBS was this weeks result. I lost over an inch on my belly button measurement(maybe because I switched to taking it in the am Wink)
And my fitbit died on Monday night, after a quick live chat a free replacement is winging its way to me. Offer was 50% off newer model or replacement, I literally only use it to track steps and sleep so I figured replacement was better for my budget.

Last week was a tough week emotionally and my digestive system was hit hard by using protein powder on a couple of occasions, it has been banished to the nether regions of a press so things should improve.

Gen you're doing fantastically well
Life hope you're finding JS good
Not * Mrs I love your posts. IF kinda features in my life, my first meal is between 10-11am, from 6-8pm the night before.

Gensola · 26/01/2022 13:56

happier I am also struggling with the protein powder, I find it makes me constipated and sometimes gives me bloating. When I finish these ones I’m going to try a vegan one, also hope once I’m on maintenance I won’t need them as much.
I STS - 137.2, so no whoosh yet. I have to do measurements for PT for 31 Jan so will try to take those in the morning!
I’m feeling quite exhausted today, I don’t think I slept well again, I had chilli for dinner and I think I had it too late.

Happierwithouthim · 26/01/2022 14:24

I'm just forgetting about it but I'm not really tracking macros at the moment.

Not2bObvious · 26/01/2022 16:45

I'm over protein powder, going to chuck mine - I don't like it, I end up having to add so much stuff to make it palatable. Muck tbh. I'm not overweight cause I don't get enough protein powder, that much I know. Well done on the inch, time of day is irrelevant, and .5 on the scales could be a wee or a poo.
Haven't gone back to listen to more of the obesity code but listening to some great podcasts on calories etc. Mind blowing.

OP posts:
Happierwithouthim · 26/01/2022 17:05

The half has stuck on all week long so it's a gain alright but not the end of the world.

I'm giving up on protein powder too, I can eat skyr or protein yogurts or protein bars(which are pretty muck too) and not have this effect.

lifelongfrugaleer · 26/01/2022 18:56

I don’t mind protein powder but it took a while to find one that suits me.
+0.5 is nothing and inch loss is brill
Great weigh in gen.
I need to do measurements and phots
Js not sure but haven’t got though app content yet. Nothing I don’t know yet. Might take the 14 day cancel option tbh

Not2bObvious · 26/01/2022 19:03

Yeah I wouldn't imagine you'll find out anything earth shattering, RH might be a pile of crap but you did get educated to a degree. It's a fair whack of cash if it's not setting you alight with enthusiasm.
I had thought I'd do measurements weekly but I'm wondering if every second week might be better being as I'm such a slow loser.

not what podcasts are you listening to? I love stuff like that.

Not2bObvious · 26/01/2022 19:43

The Doctors kitchen podcast, episode #127
& from the same guy, this one was great

podcasts.apple.com/ie/podcast/the-doctors-kitchen-podcast/id1316938642?i=1000515911840

Super interesting.

Not2bObvious · 26/01/2022 19:45

I need to listen to both again as they were in the background while I was working, and I think I might have missed some gems

OP posts:
lifelongfrugaleer · 26/01/2022 20:48

Yes , I’m going to stick at it as I think the reverse and maintenance bit will be useful. The money is spent now, it is handy having diet and fitness coaches on hand though.
I’m torn

Not2bObvious · 26/01/2022 21:45

Yeah, reverse & maintenance are notoriously difficult or so I've heard - I'm still trying to master loss! If you're less than two weeks in, it's not a lot of time to decide. I suppose you can look back on why you joined, that probably hasn't changed. And the moneys spent so take a leap of faith? With what you want to lose the three months would be enough. I'd need 3 years.
Heard a saying earlier on a TikTok, about how your actions need to be moving you towards your goals. That made me go floss/brush teeth and close the kitchen. If only every day I heard something that encouraged me, have to be in the right head space I guess. No choc/crisps for 3 days, doing ok

OP posts:
lifelongfrugaleer · 27/01/2022 07:11

Yah I’m going to stick with it. There is loads off app content I haven’t explored yet so will wait

Not2bObvious · 27/01/2022 07:22

Sts this morning which is great, might see a loss tomorrow. Down over 2.2 on last Thursday, but that's cause I'd had fast food last week and had a flux. Its certainly encouraging me to keep at the healthier eating.

OP posts:
Happierwithouthim · 27/01/2022 09:17

I would engage with that mantra too not does this action bring me closer or further away from my end goal.

0.7lbs has finally departed from my body, I felt slimmer yesterday so knew it was coming soon. Still 194lbs so I've a long way to go but heading in the right direction.

Took off for my long walk yesterday evening before it got dark, started in the bright, better for my headspace and text a friend to know if they were free for a chat so I'd company albeit by phone for the journey. I do not want what happened in Tullamore to stop me living my life.

Not2bObvious · 27/01/2022 10:52

That's great so see a shift down happier, and you're moving nicely down 190's in a steady fashion. I'm glad you're not letting the fear rule you, so bloody horrific that incident but it's not allowed rule our lives

OP posts:
Gensola · 27/01/2022 19:11

happier well done on the loss, it’s such a good feeling! I’ve been haunted by that terrible incident myself.
not thanks for the tip, really enjoyed that and have the book, why calories don’t count! Will report back.
136 today, one day too late for the official PT weigh in! Need to try my best not to mess it up this weekend, my best friend is having a big birthday and a party on Sat, so will have to work out how to celebrate without losing my progress!

Happierwithouthim · 27/01/2022 20:15

My old WW leader told a story where a member would start the night with 3 diet cokes and then have her 2 vodkas & diet cokes at end of night before she went home & it helped her not go over her points by doing it that way.

Would that work for you?

I've friends coming to visit sat night, I'm allowing myself one big glass of vino in their company

Happierwithouthim · 27/01/2022 20:17

Nice loss gen

lifelongfrugaleer · 27/01/2022 20:21

Alcohol free gen . Looks like you are drinking but far less calories. And accept you will probably be on maintenance for the
Day

lifelongfrugaleer · 27/01/2022 20:23

17500 steps today. Will be loads less tomorrow as driving to work.
Will do pump tomorrow
Gonna see how I go as ran out of energy today

Gensola · 27/01/2022 20:45

life def going to be on maintenance cals and I like both your idea and happier’s - have decided to combine them and bring loads of nice slim tonics, have those most of the eve and then two G& Ts before we go home! Hurrah!
I’ve been “calorie banking” which my PT recommends to cope with events, my usual weight loss cals are 1510 per day so I’ve saved 250 cals for the last two days and 200 today, hope to do the same tomorrow plus do a fast on Sat morning (will have lunch before I go and then dinner at the party tho), to bank up about 800 cals for the eve. Hopefully that will offset the increase. Tbh part of me doesn’t even want to go because I’ve been working so hard and it’s still such early days I know a big night could ruin it. But DH isn’t drinking as he’s still preparing for his vasectomy reversal next week and being super healthy so that will help me not to go mad too!
