Near enough 3 months until the end of the year. I am determined not to go into 2022 the same weight as I am now. I have yoyo’d the last two years and want to just get to my goal and be a stable and healthy weight. I have 2 stone to go.

Anybody else starting September 1st and want to write meals daily with me?
@PutYourBackIntoit the Protein Priority Diet has been a game changer for me. I lost 7 stone doing low carb but I was getting so hungry on 1200 calories so started to gain weight again.

Changing my diet to higher protein but still low carb has transformed everything. I’m never hungry and it’s just falling off now!
What is the Protein Priority diet?

Amazonmulu · 08/09/2021 15:51

@Handsoffstrikesagain

amazon if you could maybe eat 12pm and 4pm you may stand a better chance of hitting your goal. Of course consult your GP first though before starting intermittent fasting.
I'll try but I usually eat at 5:30pm with the rest of the family, and at 4pm I'm usually still at work. Why would 12pm and 4pm be better?
Amazonmulu · 09/09/2021 06:04

Day 1 went ok ish. Clocked in about 1400kcal.

Just going for my 5km run.

How is everyone doing?

PutYourBackIntoit · 09/09/2021 07:35

Well done for having a good first day @Amazonmulu and seems like your second is going to plan so far too Smile

@Cazzovuoi wow! Huge congratulations losing 7 stone. What an achievement! I will look into the protein priority diet, as its one of my aims anyway to eat at least 70g protein a day.

I feel I need a diet for life regime as I've tried so many different diets, and I always put it back on and plus some.

Yesterday was a tough day mentally and emotionally for me but I still did OK. I ate 1600 calories:
Oats, yoghurt, raspberries, tea
Chicken tikka salad wrap
Cheese and ham omlette

I worked 13 hours, and didn't have dinner until 11pm so not great.

Exercise: 6590 steps, squats to song.
Wellbeing: keeping journal, made it possible to have lunch outside.

This morning I'll do punches to this song.

Cazzovuoi · 09/09/2021 08:25

@Amazonmulu it’s basically eating a lot more protein than the recommended daily amount. I was losing my hair on keto and weight loss stopped. I followed the woman who developed the program because she used to do keto.

I can’t believe the difference it’s made. She’s a qualified nutritionist so based the program on science backed evidence. One woman lost 15lbs in the first week!!

Amazonmulu · 09/09/2021 08:44

@Cazzovuoi sounds amazing - totally googling it and trying it 👍🏻

@PutYourBackIntoit how did your morning go yesterday with getting your dd to her provision?

PutYourBackIntoit · 09/09/2021 09:34

@Amazonmuluhe she got there although half an hour late and v distressed so I found that difficult, and of course it has a knock on effect on my work which is stressful, but I can't let her see that. And I was delighted that she got there at all :)
I need to be bright and breezy for her at all times.
Today, a different story sadly. I can't get her out of bed. Nagging has a detrimental effect and she's too big to drag out of bed now.
I would never had thought I'd be in this position. This time last year she was so excited to be going to secondary school Sad
I've found all the back to school pictures hard.

That sounds really tough :(

It's great that you are her safe space and support. It's all you can do.

Hope you are getting support too x

PutYourBackIntoit · 09/09/2021 20:40

Thanks @Amazonmulu sadly support is chronically short on a professional level, but I have a great friendship circle which I'm so grateful for.

Today I had 1571 calories with 150g of protein.
Breakfast at Cafe and had eggs benedict & 2 lattes
Peperami for a snack
1.5 chicken breast for dinner with homemade baked beans.

Exercise: air punches to song, 6k steps.

Wellbeing: will write journal later and had a massage today :)

Tomorrow mornings wall push ups will be to

PutYourBackIntoit · 10/09/2021 19:53

How is everyone getting on?

I've had a poor food day. However, I'll keep posting for a couple tablets...Good and bad!

Oats, yoghurt, dribble of honey
McDonald's sausage & egg muffin & latte
Victoria sponge with cream & strawberries
Latte
Chicken breast & salad

Exercise: wall push ups to song, 4k steps.

Wellbeing: journal, will have an early night.

Tomorrow's song

PutYourBackIntoit · 10/09/2021 19:55

*keep posting for accountability

Think I've had about 2000 calories today

Amazonmulu · 11/09/2021 08:05

It's been a long week but mostly good. I did do my three 5km runs and finally made it to a yoga session.

But had a (tesco) takeaway curry with DH so dreading the scales this morning.

It's sad but I feel I deserve a medal for not having chocolate after the curry as that is my behaviour pattern for the last 5 years (hence all the fat). So proud even though it's a small thing, it's a big thing for me.

mner1896 · 11/09/2021 09:15

Well done @Amazonmulu, it's breaking the little habits like that that will make all the difference. And the Indian will not have been enough calories for you to put weight on, so if you see an increase on the scales it will just be temporary. You need to eat an extra 3500 calories to put 1lb on!

I'm pleased with how my week is going, 20k steps yesterday plus a workout to give me a good push going into the weekend. Going to have a Chinese and some af wine this evening, hoping I have the willpower to stick to my diet for the rest of the weekend!

Amazonmulu · 11/09/2021 09:20

@mner1896 well done in your good work! 20k steps is amazing! 💪🏻

mner1896 · 14/09/2021 11:15

How is everyone getting on? I had another alcohol free weekend Grin My weekend was ok, I wasn't 100% perfect but it was good enough that I haven't ruined all my hard work through the week. I can feel my willpower starting to slip a little bit, not helped by the fact I've got down to 10stone 2lbs now, and this is the point I always get to and can't seem to lose anymore. Working extra this week so I've less time for exercise and just generally more tired, going to try and keep my steps up if nothing else!

Well done for sticking with it - you never know this could be the time you get past that plateau 🤞🏻
Amazonmulu · 14/09/2021 18:07

I'm back on it after a terrible (eating wise) weekend. Been saintly last two days and just sooooo need to stick with it through the week and weekend.

mner1896 · 14/09/2021 21:05

@Amazonmulu I find having a bit off leeway(sp?) at the weekends helps me stay on track (usually!). I plan for a glass of wine or full fat coke and a couple of treats. And 9 times out of 10 it really satisfies me and makes me realise how much I eat/drink at the weekend that I really don't need.

Amazonmulu · 15/09/2021 07:32

@mner1896 that's really good - you've found a balance, I really need to learn that.

Been on the scales and 12st 4.2lb down from 12st 8lb 1/9. I feel like I've finally started.

In terms of food I'm trying to have meal replacement shakes for breakfast and lunch, and normal dinner with the family. If I can make it past the weekend I will be so happy. Most of my socialising is during the week (drink with a friend Thursday night, and lunch with friends Friday) usually I can be relatively good but it's the weekend with the kids that I snack perpetually. But feeling strong willed this morning Halo

How is everyone else doing?

Cazzovuoi · 16/09/2021 22:52

Just checking in - am down 10lbs Shock I cannot believe it.

I am not hungry at all and have the freedom to choose what I want to eat. I’ve never felt better plus I love the freedom of choice on the program even if daily tracking is a pain.

I did weight watchers for years and never lost this much and I was always hungry.

I was on a monthly plan with them, but after this result I signed up for a year. At this rate by Christmas I’ll be at my goal weight although I’ll probably put on a few pounds over the Christmas holidays GrinWineCake

mner1896 · 17/09/2021 09:43

Well done @Cazzovuoi that's fantastic! So do you count your calories aswell or just hit your protein goal?

I'm at 10stone 1lb, was really hoping for a big push this weekend to get me under 10stone but I feel so drained from work and just general life this week that I'm not sure I'll manage! Food has been low in calories this week but terrible quality so I need to work on that.

Cazzovuoi · 17/09/2021 09:50

@mner1896 it’s calorie controlled but only for 30 days then we swap to overeating and then back into 40 days. It’s to help fix metabolisms that have been damaged by decades of dieting Sad It works so well but it takes time. It means that I’ll keep the weight off long term. So sick of yo yo dieting.

Cazzovuoi · 17/09/2021 09:50

I meant 30 not 40 Hmm

Amazonmulu · 18/09/2021 08:16

Well done @Cazzovuoi that's great work!

I had a look last week and it looks really good and research backed. I defo might give it a go.

I've had a good week. I've been intermittent fasting 16:8, and having shakes for breakfast and lunch, and nice dinners with the family. It's a short term fix to kick start being healthier. It's defo working as I feel much better and have stopped my even snacking and don't even miss it. I managed a whole day in the office (only one Starbucks skinny latte) and a girls lunch (had sashimi and oat latte) while staying on track.

I think I will try Protein Priority after this phase, as a long term solution.

My biggest test is the weekend. If I can get through the next 48h I can manage everything 💪🏻
