Hi all! I got my bum in gear and set up the July thread for our ongoing challenge to lose 7lbs or 3kg per month!

All are welcome whether you are a regular, a newbie or a lurker. We are a friendly and welcoming bunch.

There's a good mix of diet and exercise regimes so plenty of hints and tips available.

My stats are:
SW (Dec 19) 25st 2lbs
CW 13st 6lbs
Loss for June 6lbs
Loss so far 11st 10lbs

Target for July is 12st 13lbs. I'm so excited by the prospect of being in the 12s!!

Previous thread is here if anyone wants to catch up!

Hi, I just wanted to say what an inspiration you are, having lost 11st 10lbs! Star That's amazing and takes so much dedication! Just wanted to say well done really. Smile Carry on as you are. Grin

BlueLobelia · 01/07/2021 10:38

Wow that is incredible! Well done.

I would like to join too if I may. I have not weighed myself yet (that is for tomorrow) but today i have bought a new set of scales so it's serious.

My plan is to make incremental changes. So this month I will;

Intermittant fasting- th 16-8 method (which for me means stopping eating at 6 pm and then breakfast is at 10 am).

10 minute walk daily (I am so unfit I have to start with this).

Calorie free drinks- so water / coffee / tea.

Those are all the changes I am going to make for this month and then next I will build on it. :)

ImFree2doasiwant · 01/07/2021 10:38

Hi @cricketmum84, thank you for the new thread. I managed 7lbs in June (in the first 2 weeks, then nothing for the rest of the month, again!).

SW 14st 6
CW 12st 10
TW 11st 6
June target 12st 3.

I actually can't believe that if I keep this up I'll be 12st 3 by the end of the month, AND (hopefully) in the 11st by the end of August!

ImFree2doasiwant · 01/07/2021 10:39

July target , obviously.

sultanasofping · 01/07/2021 15:07

Hello - I was here last year - lost 18lbs in total and got down to what I thought was 13st 4lb - bought new (accurate) scales which weighed 10lb heavier than my old ones!
That and a few other personal challenges meant I lost motivation completely Sad and went back up to 14st 7lb Blush - regained motivation in June and now am back to where I was last year at 14st 2lb (though it felt less then because of my lying bstrd scales Grin )
so...... July hoping to lose 7lb which will actually mean I've lost the 'baby weight' from having my youngest (who am I kidding - he's 13)
here we go.......

Tallpaulwho · 01/07/2021 19:02

I'm hoping I do a bit better than my 2.5kgs in June. I want at least 3 this month. Not that I can lower my calories anymore, must get off the couch instead and do more exercise.

73kittycat73 · 01/07/2021 19:06

Is it OK to join? I plan on loosing at least 7lbs this month. I started out in February at 15st 1lb. I am now down to 11st 5.2 lbs. I want to get down to 10st 7lb at least so have 12.2lbs to lose. I IF, 16:8 and am medium carb. I calorie count mainly. I've also taken up exercise, yoga class twice a week and on days I'm not doing that I do a 10 mins standing abs, 10 mins HIIT, 5 minute balancing exercises and weights on my arms. I look forward to losing with you!
SW 15st 1lb
CW 11st 5.2lb
GW 10st 7lb

HolaVida · 02/07/2021 07:39

SW 13st 6.5
CW 11st 10.75
TW 11st 3-7
Total lost for July: 0.5lbs

Hey all, just placing marking on new thread! Am away this weekend so did an extra weigh-in today, feel really inspired to be so close to target weight.

Welcome all the newbies!!

JeansShirtJeansJacket · 02/07/2021 07:43

Can I join?

SW - 89kgs
CW - 82kgs
TW - 7kgs

I started in May and I was doing so well but I've hit a major plateau now. I've been hovering around 82 for over a week now. I need some motivation.

cricketmum84 · 02/07/2021 08:51

Happy Friday everyone!

All newbies are most welcome to join! The more the merrier!

I cheated last night and had a naughty Chinese takeaway... I did only eat half though so hopefully not done too much damage. Back on it today with a nice fresh salad for lunch and chicken breast pizza for dinner :)

Enjoy your weekend away @HolaVida

Welcome back @sultanasofping

DuPainDuVinDuFromage · 02/07/2021 09:03

Thank you for the thread!

Joining today as Friday is weigh-in day for me. I've completely fallen off the wagon this week, so was pleasantly surprised to find that I haven't put any weight on since last Friday (albeit I haven't lost any either, but that would have been a miracle). So my stats are as follows:

SW 62.6kg
CW 60.3kg
Loss for June: 2.3kg
GW 50kg

I'm about to move house so who knows what the situation will be with my scales over the next few weeks...I definitely won't be able to weigh in next Friday, but should be sorted by two weeks' time! And I won't manage much exercise either...hopefully the stress will make the weight drop off (who am I kidding, I'm a stress eater...)

BlueLobelia · 02/07/2021 10:57

Good morning!

I weighed this morning for my starting weight.

SW 13.8

I am pleased with this because I last weighed myself a year ago and I was 13.8 then! I had thought I might have out on a fair bit.

I have done my 10 minute walk, and managed the IF and no-cal drinks yesterday so off toa good start. I'd be thrilled if I lost 7 pounds this month. i am aiming to lost 3 stone.

73kittycat73 · 02/07/2021 11:19

Have done my 16 hours of fasting too. Done my exercises for today. Off for a shower, then a walk later. Hope everyone else is feeling good today?

ImFree2doasiwant · 02/07/2021 17:11

Friday is weigh in day for me, half a lb down which I am happy with as I hasn't had a great week.

Good day today, in that I have barely eaten all day, (accidental rather than planned) . Just had an early dinner so need to avoid pigging out tonight.

Ardagusdubh · 03/07/2021 11:50

Cw 12st 9
Tw (for end of July) 12 st 3

I really hope I can do it 🤞Last year from 30th June to 31st July I lost 1 stone exactly so no good reason I can't do 6 lbs this year. Then really hoping to get into the 11s. Need to up my exercise as well to get some toning done and just for general health. Good luck everyone Smile
Planning on weighing every few days as I'm quite fascinated by the fluctuations and generally not too put off.

Pickersgill · 03/07/2021 13:59

Can I join too? Weighed myself at the beginning of May as I'm about to start medication and got a shock! Been going slowly since then and got DH on board as well. Cut right down on wine and started doing some exercise. Food is hard as I have ASD and a limited diet- most of which is high fat. But gradually finding lower fat stuff I can eat. I'm starting to see a physical difference which is satisfying.

SW 13stone 2
CW 12 stone 3
TW at the moment is 11 stone 9.

73kittycat73 · 03/07/2021 14:27

Well done on the loss ImFree2doasiwant A loss is still a loss! Flowers
Good luck Ardagusdubh I'm sure you can do it. Star
Hi Pickersgill sounds like you are doing really well there. Smile

Ardagusdubh · 03/07/2021 23:20

Thanks @73kittycat73, had a wobble with pizza and prosecco this evening but less than I'd normally eat so I'll not worry too much about it. You've done soooo well, nearly 4 stone?? What have you been doing?

MythsandSparkles · 04/07/2021 11:37

I’m in please!

I have a wedding at the end of august that I currently can’t fit into the bridesmaids dress for - I reckon a stone will do it (it fit this time last year when the wedding was actually planned for when I was a stone lighter)

Current weight 16st9
Target weight July 16st 2

Fingers crossed!

MistySkiesAfterRain · 04/07/2021 12:20

11st 5 so that is a 1lb gain, but I think I have water retention, plus I ate 70g of chocolate and went over my calories by about 700 one day. Or the scales just lie to me.

20m walk this AM and lunch is chicken and rice and small potato and salmon for dinner, lots of veg. Snacks rice cakes, boiled egg and strawberries.

73kittycat73 · 04/07/2021 12:28

Hi Ardagusdubh I've been calorie counting (About 1200 a day.) and in the past month have taken up IF, 16:8. Which method are you using? I was mediumish carbs but I've just found loads of nice new veggie meals on Ocado and some of them are quite high in carbs but I'll take them as they're something different! I try and stick to 150g or less of carbs a day.

BlueLobelia · 04/07/2021 13:52

had prosecco yesterday so that was the no-cal drinks aim out of the window. back on it today.

Did my 10 minute walk.

Intermittant fasting was slightly harder this morning as usually I have the school run then dash to work occupying my attention. But managed it. We are having a good afternoon tea around 4pm which will see me through the rest of the day so that's fine.

I am feeling quite positive!

sultanasofping · 05/07/2021 08:47

have lost 1lb so far - 6 to go Smile
Had a terrible day food wise yesterday - went to a small party and ate way too much and a lot of that was nibbley stuff that's oh so easy to eat and oh so many calories.
Never mind - back on it today
Have a great week everyone xx we can do this!

WheresMyTweezers · 05/07/2021 09:48

Hello, diving in!
Currently:
8lb off in total since 14 June, including
2lb off in July

Would love to lose another 6lb in July as that would take me to my first stone (of many!) off. After a good start though, it's coming off fairly slowly so will have to see. Not following any particular plan, just very limited snacking/desserts, no white bread, light lunch, well-balanced evening meal.

MistySkiesAfterRain · 05/07/2021 20:12

Going away on hol soon and won't be on MN. Wish you all good losses for July.
