Food diary for accountability

YetAnotherWalk · 16/05/2021 18:26

Does anyone want to share their food diary? I think it may help me keep on the straight and narrow.

My aim - get rid of the lock down stress gain and improve my health.

Starting tomorrow (obviously) Blush Grin

ooo me, I'm starting tomorrow too........ again :)

I am making plans for meals for tomorrow so hope that will keep me on track for day 1

Good luck

YetAnotherWalk · 16/05/2021 19:43

Thanks @LuckyLuckyWoman

My food shop isn't arriving until late tomorrow, but I can still do some bits.

My main aim is to ditch the Coke and cut gluten as much as humanly possible without having to cook 2 separate meals.

Will have soup or a jacket for lunch and follow 16:8 intermittent fasting.

Meals for tea:
M: chilli and rice
T: chicken in mushroom sauce with spinach and rice
W: salmon, asparagus and baby potatoes
T: stir fry with noodles
F: curry

Oh yes please! Trying to get calories under control! And maybe steps too as I'm trying to do 1 million in 3 months starting tomorrow (averages about 11k a day - it'll be tough!)

YetAnotherWalk · 16/05/2021 21:21

The more the merrier @Yellowfish2020

OP posts:
PourMeAMerlot · 16/05/2021 22:07

I’ll hop on board if there’s room!
I’m starting tomorrow... going to fast until 12pm when I’ll have roast chicken soup.
Then tikka masala with cauliflower rice & salad for tea.
I’m coeliac so have to avoid gluten completely!

Will weigh myself in the morning too... I know I’m around 11 stone and would like to lose at least 2 of them.

Blondie1984 · 17/05/2021 02:20

Cut gluten? But why?

YetAnotherWalk · 17/05/2021 12:28

It really bloats me @Blondie1984. Rice and potatoes are fine, but bread and cakes don't agree with me too well and the more I eat, the more I want.

Hope you're all having a good day and welcome on board @PourMeAMerlot.

I've had:
water + tablets
medium hot chocolate
chicken, stuffing, cucumber and mayo sandwich, cherries
(waiting for food shop hence bread)

Planning:
chilli and rice with a handful of Doritos
few squares of chocolate

OP posts:
PourMeAMerlot · 17/05/2021 12:57

Thanks @YetAnotherWalk

Weighed myself this morning and was bang on 11 stone Sad

This morning I had 2 coffees (with one sugar instead of my usual two - trying to wean myself off to make my calories go further!)
And I’ve just had some Yorkshire provender roast chicken soup - so delicious!

How much do you want to lose @YetAnotherWalk ?

YetAnotherWalk · 17/05/2021 18:06

I think I need to aim for a stone or so, but that would take me to 11st Blush Reasonably tall and size 12s fit nicely at that point.

I've eaten inside a 7 1/2 hour window. Had a chunk of cheese while sorting tea, so all in...

hot choc
chicken & stuffing sandwich
few chunks of chocolate
cheese
chilli and rice with a handful of Doritos

Tesco has been, so I have chicken soup for tomorrow's lunch Smile

How has everyone got on?

OP posts:
YetAnotherWalk · 17/05/2021 18:10

Oh and some cherries! Thank goodness I'm keeping track on my phone as I go...

OP posts:
PourMeAMerlot · 17/05/2021 19:41

I’ve done well today! Had my tikka masala with cauliflower rice instead of my usual whole grain, really enjoyed it.
I still have just over 200 cals left for the day... wondering whether to have a snack or just bank it for another day.

PourMeAMerlot · 17/05/2021 19:42

Managed nearly 15,000 steps today too!

YetAnotherWalk · 18/05/2021 07:50

That's great Merlot I don't walk as much as I should, but want to get back to doing yoga in the evening. Just trying not to pile in with too many changes all at once.

I think I was a bit too severe cutting back yesterday. Was hungry going to bed and ravenous now, but I also know that's the first few days of getting back to IF while my body adjusts.

Plan for today:
Hot water based hot choc from NT place to keep me going Grin + nut bar
Chicken & chorizo soup with rice
Easy peeler
Chicken in mushroom sauce, spinach, savoury rice & carrot, broccoli
Few squares of choc

Have a great day all

OP posts:
PourMeAMerlot · 18/05/2021 10:36

The first few days are brutal.
I couldn’t manage fasting until 12 today, I was starving so just had a bowl of honey flakes.

Your days menu sounds good!

I have planned -
B - small bowl of honey flakes
L - cauliflower cheese soup
D - tempura chicken wrapped in lettuce leaves with a side salad
S - apple & satsuma

Few cups of tea & coffee thrown in there too. Let’s hope I manage to stick to this, feeling bloody hungry today.

YetAnotherWalk · 18/05/2021 18:35

I find 9;30-10:00 to 5:30 works well for me merlot. Anticipating tomorrow to be the worst and then hopefully things will get easier.

Teeth brushed and less strict with myself which hopefully will work a bit better.
Watery hot choc + Eat natural bar
Soup
Chocolate
Easy peeler & macaroon
I always get hungry quickly after soup - this was half a tub as directed with chicken, rice, beans and peas in
Chicken with spinach in mushroom sauce, savoury rice, carrots and broccoli.

Plan for tomorrow is a jacket for lunch and stir fry for tea as the veg need using by tomorrow.

How are you getting on @LuckyLuckyWoman and @Yellowfish2020?

OP posts:
Yellowfish2020 · 18/05/2021 18:58

@YetAnotherWalk thanks for checking in - I won't lie - I've been basically out of control WineCakeWineCakeGinGrin

In all seriousness, had some Stuff to get sorted the last few days that just took priority and needed sorting, BUT I've got it all out the way and ready to go tomorrow!

YetAnotherWalk · 18/05/2021 20:13

Wednesday is as good a day to start as any other! Hope you're OK

OP posts:
YetAnotherWalk · 19/05/2021 20:16

Today was stressful, but kept to 8 hour window

small hot choc and rather large GF brownie
jacket potato with mayo, ham & cheese
easy peeler
nougat
steak & veggie stir fry with rice noodles

OP posts:
Yellowfish2020 · 19/05/2021 20:38

Sorry you had stressful day, that always sends me off the rails!

I've got my head into it today and I've had

Vegetable and bean curry - 505 cals
Pasta and quorn - 515 cals
Caramel rice cake - 40 cals
2x alcohol free beers - 138cals

Total cals - 1,198
Steps - 10,125

And if I need it - I'll have some toast with marmite later. My actually calorie 'allowance' to keep me in a deficit is 1,600 (I've got ALOT to loose), so I'm happy if I end up at 1,400

YetAnotherWalk · 20/05/2021 16:17

That sounds like a good day yellowfish Hope you managed similar today.

Today hasn't been much better, but there we go. It's Friday tomorrow!

Met friend out and she got 4 different things - all containing gluten! I had 1/2 croissant as the lesser of all evils... better than a whole giant muffin or bun!

1/2 croissant + small hot choc
small jacket with mayo, ham & cheese
GF muffin because I felt cheated Blush
easy peeler
salmon, new potatoes, asparagus

Resisted the urge to by Coke - really wanted it by the time I got to the shop, so "just" getting the muffin was a slight win.

Was going to get on the scales, but batteries flat - got some new ones, so will have a peek tomorrow morning.

OP posts:
YetAnotherWalk · 21/05/2021 18:15

Ok so I got on the scales and I've nearly regained all the weight I lost in the 2nd half of 2019. Having hung onto it till Christmas, that's shocking.

Today was a weird day and I could say it's the lack of sleep, the weather, meeting a friend at an odd time and bad news from another mutual friend that isn't mine to unburden, but ultimately, it's down to what I put in my mouth Blush

For the purposes of honesty, here's what was consumed:
Eat natural bar
GF lemon cake + hot choc
Lindt ball
pop corn
ready meal pealla
McDs milkshake

Oh dear... new day tomorrow and I seriously need to address the sugar!

OP posts:
YetAnotherWalk · 22/05/2021 18:08

More in control, but woeful on 5 a day!

Hot choc while freezing in the park
jacket with mayo, ham and cheese
macaroon
GF muffin
chicken curry with rice and peas

OP posts:
YetAnotherWalk · 23/05/2021 19:56

The scales finally moved in the right direction...

honey yogurt + few nuts
slice of garlic bread
roast chicken & veg salad
ice cream in waffle cone
chicken & rice and veg soup

OP posts:
YetAnotherWalk · 26/05/2021 12:25

Well Monday and yesterday were nightmare days and my eating reflected that. Trying really hard to get back on track today as I don't want to undo all my hard work.

Medium hot choc and GF brownie (Costa)
Risotto
2 squares of Lindt
Easy peeler
Cod in tomato sauce, chips and veg

OP posts:
YetAnotherWalk · 27/05/2021 18:14

Yesterday didn't go well either Hmm Fish was still cold despite following the cooking instructions to the letter - not a fish fan in the first place, so put off and scoffed half the kitchen.

Today I can finally say - back on track!

Macaroon and hot choc
Jacket, ham, cheese and mayo
ice cream at the park
GF pepperoni pizza, cucumber
Pear

Must try to do better on fruit and veg tomorrow
