That's it. I have put on an extra lockdown stone. I want to get rid of the lockdown stone. I am going to do it, starting today. I am sick of it and my overeating!

Yesterday I snacked all day on rubbish, and then had a massive takeaway pizza for dinner. I feel bloated this morning. I'm 11s 1lb today.

It's been done a million times before here, but anyone want to shift a stone with me? Smile

Can I please join in? I'm starting tomorrow. Currently heaviest I've ever been at 10st 5. First lockdown I was furloughed for 3 months and went from 10st to about 9st 4-7 which I maintained all last summer then I went back to work and was miserable so piled it all on and more. I'd like to get down to 9st so 1st 5lb to go.

@DandelionRose Not too bad for me today but I've been sooo hungry! Need to keep myself away from the snacks too. Gym classes start up again next week though so hoping that gives me a kick up the bum too!

Mine isn’t technically lockdown weight but would LOVE to lose a stone. Was 10st 7 or 8 this morning and would love to be below 10st... IF and relatively low carb. I see some of the other threads on here and think they are great but feel like I’m late to the party with them. Would love to be held accountable in here!

Not bad here today, I did drink wine last night which was not ideal but am going to lay off the booze until Friday night. Went for a walk this eve with a friend and ate fairly well, should have drunk more water but was too busy, must get a water bottle to bring to work..,

I’d like to join! I recently lost the weight I wanted to unexpectedly due to sickness. Turns out I am coeliac but now it’s been diagnosed and I can find a lot of gf treats… well the weight is starting to creep up again. I want to tone up and keep the weight down so need to be good with eating and exercise.

Today was not ideal:
Breakfast: 1 slice of toast, fruit salad, granola
Lunch: lentil and sausage casserole
Binge Snack due to stressful moment at work: 3 biscuits and toast :/
Dinner: scallops in cream and spinach sauce, black rice
1 glass of wine - also due to stressful day
Gf sticky toffee pudding, fruit

1 45 min interval training class with weights and cardio (so all is surely forgiven?!)

As you can see I am an emotional eater and reward myself very easily after exercise!

I am trying to up my exercise rather than alter ny diet too much As I said earlier in this thread I'm going to incorporate weights into my routine so since my first post, Sunday I did 40 mins combination of treadmill and bike and a 20 minute upper body workout. I'd have done a bit longer on the weights if it wasn't for the fact I pulled a back muscle on Sunday morning. I pulled my muscle by trying to get into my too small sports bra Blush. I then swam in the evening. According to my fitbit I burned 1900 calories. Yesterday was a rest day.
I do log my calories but because I make a lot of my food I tend to guesstimate my consumption. I try and stick to 1600 per day. On non exercise days I burn around 1500 which is why I cannot shift the weight.
I did weigh yesterday because I have been exercising for the last week and I'm down from 11.11 starting weight to 11.09.

Urgh. I have 3 stone to lose. When the kids went back to school in March I weighed myself and I was 15st5, which is grossly overweight. I'm 5'9" so I can carry it reasonably well but 12st5 is my happy weight.

I'm trying intermittent fasting 18:6, so fasting for 18 hours a day, 6pm to 12pm the following day and then eating mindfully for those 6 hours. And running. Lots of (slow) running. Although I hear I need to do weights as well I have no idea where to start with that.

Would love to join you for some moral support!

I started 2 weeks ago. I already could have done with losing 7-14 lbs pre-lockdown but the scales never moved whatever I did. Now, Post-lockdown, my weight has gone up and I started with calorie counting 2 weeks ago usint my fitness pal.

I tend to skip breakfast during week days, so I am doing a 14-15 hour fast. I first eat between 10 and 11. I eat lunch. I might have a snack or homemade latte in the afternoon and then dinner, which is always homemade.

I hate using myfitnesspal because of it being American - cups and ounces - and also because most of my meals are homemade. Is there an easier way to add up the contents of a meal?

Anyway, vits having an impact.
Lockdown put me in the habit of doing a few long walks per week with family or friends or alone with the dog. I've restarted pilates with a friend, where we also use some handweights and resistance bands. I l do a racquet sport once per week. I think I need to add some more weights into my week, especially since I am close to 50.

My downfall is weekends as my DH has a sweet tooth and I can't help joining in with biscuits or cake with a cup of tea, also drinking alcohol over weekends. If I make something that will be better. I have some low sugar, or low calorie things I can make.

I booked a gym induction. I didn't want to go to the gym at all. I thought I would just do Body Pump (this is an excellent place to start with weights). The reason I booked the gym induction is because I wanted my flub measured on the machine and to talk to the PT about maximising my exercise regime. Anyway we started chatting about the gym and I said 'oh I won't be doing that' and he asked why 🤔. I explained I wasn't bothered about being watched exercising but I sure as hell wasn't going to display my ineptitude with the equipment. So he went around and showed me a few of the machines. Result is that from 'never going to use it' on Saturday to doing a workout on Sunday and I'm going back today.
In short, try and find a body pump class near you and see if you can get a gym induction. I use my local leisure centre. Its not swanky but it is perfectly good for me.

Does anyone else find that they can be very strict for a week or so and nothing happens at all, but then suddenly they begin to lose weight quite consistently and easily for a few weeks without changing anything- it’s like a delay? I find it very frustrating as I can go from eating quite a lot to about half of what I was eating & just see not a single bit of weight loss for 7-10 days.

I’m not overweight, just at the top end of normal BMI, and I’m also very active so I wonder whether this happens. I often give up diets early on because I find it so hard to plough through being hungry without any results. It must be water or something. Hopefully!

Whether this is why this happens, not whether it happens- it does!

@Thedogshow I decided a while ago diets don't work - fuck it I'll eat what I want
I had a sandwich and a packet of crisps - then realised that I'd not gone back and finished the multipack - maybe because the 1 pack I had didn't ruin a diet - as I wasn't on one
Does that make sense ? If I don't fail - I don't punish
Wish I could say it continued and now I'm a slim cow but I'd be lying
May be worth thinking about again though / the no diet diet

See, that's why calorie counting works for me. It reminds me of what lunches and dinners are lower calorie - there can be vast differences - and I can adjust accordingly. If I eat some Crisps or biscuits, I'll make sure I have a lower calorie but high protein/fibre lunch or dinner so it evens out. I'm suckling to 1200 mid week and giving myself 2 days where I eat more... But I'll naturally burn more calories at the weekend as I've gone to do more exercise.

Working from home makes it easier to skip breakfast - or rather delay it to mid morning. I'm used to it now. It has a huge impact on lowering my overall appetite and I go on to eat much less the rest of the day.

Thedogshow Interestingly, I'm the opposite of what you describe! Grin

I lose weight really quickly in the first week (but some people say half of it is water weight) so I get off to a flying start which is encouraging, BUT THEN just as I am starting to miss my favourite snacks, in weeks 2-3, not a lot happens. I mean I'll lose possibly 6lb in a good first week (so 3lb really, because the rest is losing the water retention - I love salty snacks) and then probably 2lb a week after which is fine of course but I want it to go faster for the fact I am (still seeing it as) denying myself all my treats and snacks. I can't do "just one treat" or it sets me off into cravings again. Once I'm past the 3-4 week mark I have stopped cravings, but so far I haven't managed to get past week 2 in recent months!

So today I am amazingly 10st 11lb - I had to check twice because that's seemingly 4lb in one day but I think the scales are a bit faulty (electronic). But I was probably 10st 12lb last week and had a weekend blowout (snacks, big takeaway pizza) so I'm only returned to what I was last week.

The big challenge is getting the next half stone off which will go agonisingly slow.... I feel trapped on an island and can't break past the 10s 8lb barrier! But I will, this time. I've got to otherwise my summer clothes might as well all go to the charity shop as they don't fit properly....

I hope all of us have a good day today where we can stay on track. We can do this, one healthy eating day at a time! I've taken a pic of my favourite, beautiful (as yet unworn) summer dress which I'm putting as a screensaver on my phone so I can see it all the time as motivation!

I’d a stone and a half to lose to get to 10stone. I lost 8lb over the past 4 weeks but struggled last week.

I find it what has worked for me is

  • every morsel logged into MyFitnessPal
  • min 13k steps a day
  • 2 fitness (weight) classes a week, live or recorded on zoom
  • try to aim for 1000 calories max per day but most days don’t go over 1200.
  • weekend cheat day calories not to exceed 1800 calories
  • very minimal carbs
  • plenty of protein

It really meant going quite hungry even with 3 low cal meals

That's a really good idea. Ill find a photo of me when slimmer and add it to my phone screensaver. I am motivated to be able to wear something tucked in, without overspill.

I've done 10 minutes of weights today. I've left them out on the hall way so I'll see them and do some more today.

I want to join in please

I have a stone + 3 pounds to shift to get back to my pre pregnancy weight. It's been mine and my partner's birthdays in the last week and my mum really enjoys making cake

I have a baby and a dog so I struggle with having enough time in the evenings to cook something properly. To get round this I have been batch cooking at the weekends so we have healthy meals in the freezer BUT it would be nice to be able to throw something together fresh

Any suggestions please?

Pizza with a flour and yogurt base. It's one of our favourites. I do 1cup plain Greek yogurt mixed with 2 cups plain flour into a dough. Oil baking tray, form into pizza base. Add tomato pizza topping from a jar, any leftover bits of ham/chicken/chorizo, sometimes a bit of BBQ sauce then grated cheese on top and bake at 210deg for about 15min. I can have it on the table in about 25min start to finish
