Anyone keen for a 6 week challenge?

I do well with shorter goals and am hoping to focus on shifting some weight and being more active.

Anyone else care to join and see how much weight we can shift (sensibly!) in the next 6 weeks?

People are welcome to join anytime, I personally will be counting from Monday 7th until March 22nd. I was hit pretty hard by lockdown and am the biggest I’ve ever been... I’ve already managed to shift a little bit of weight, now looking to tackle my long term eating habits and sedentary lifestyle in the coming period.

I’ll be sticking to the following :

  1. No snacking.
  2. 5 fruit/veg per day, protein source at every meal.
  3. Trying to hit 10,000 steps a day.

Other than that, I’m not following any diet in particular, I’m trying to change my habits for the long haul. And of course, being comfortable in summer will be an added bonus!

In these 6 weeks, I’m hoping to shift 8-9 pounds, as well as losing a couple of inches off my belly and bum.

Any takers?

@ChonkyChook, I’m not ecstatic to be overweight but definitely not willing to crap myself in the pursuit of slimming 😂

Turefu · 22/02/2021 07:51

I weighted today: 69.8kg. Good. I need to loose 0.8kg within this week, then I'll achieve my goal. And then I want to set another goal: 10kg less. Then I'll have my ideal weight.

Persephonegoddess · 22/02/2021 07:58

Please can I join you? I have 13kg to lose and no motivation.

Lostsoul231 · 22/02/2021 08:07

@NoNameNellie @Fembot123 @ChonkyChook
Thanks for your encouragement and advice. Had a healthy day yesterday (despite dramas that could easily have led to emotional eating). Drank lots of lemon water yesterday and this morning the stomachs cramps and bloating have disappeared and I’ve not even been to the loo for a number two yet (too much information?) Hmm
Weighed myself this morning and I am 4lbs lighter than yesterday morning which shows just how bloated I must have been yesterday Confused
Feel tons better today. Sticking to to the lemon water again and about to do a dumbbell workout before I start work. Smile

10 stone 13 this morning so quite happy with that (after yesterday’s) wobble Blush

That’s great stuff, glad to hear you are back on track 😁❤️

74.6kg which is 0.5kg down on last week. Pleased with that for period week.

Well done @lostsoul231! Glad things are looking a bit better today.

fudgecat · 22/02/2021 09:35

Down a little from 67.8 to 67.3

PurpleDaisies · 22/02/2021 09:54

I’m down 0.5kg today. The veg box has just arrived so I’m going to make Sind soup to celebrate!

PurpleDaisies · 22/02/2021 09:54

Some soup. I don’t know what Sind soup is!

CarlottaValdez · 22/02/2021 11:48

I’m the same weight as last Monday. I feel weirdly ok about it. I’ve been for a run this morning and feel stronger and fitter.

buckeejit · 22/02/2021 12:29

Pleased to report a 2.5lb loss today. Am glad if it keeps going like this. 8lb to go to stage 1 target.

It feels like a struggle though. Going for lunch/tea party on Saturday to my parents & I know I'll eat bread & cake so need to save myself! Haven't had real carbs for a while & craving chips so will either be baked potatoes or chips & something for tea later 😁

buckeejit · 22/02/2021 12:35

Well done all!

I'm starting to really focus on the scales which are obviously the end goal but I had promised myself that Jan/Feb/lockdown would be all about instilling better habits & healthier lifestyle so going to try to shift my focus to that & maybe make a list of NSVs to motivate myself.

Hope everyone has good weeks ahead!

Lostsoul231 · 22/02/2021 13:01

For any veggies/fellow pescatarians struggling to find something healthy and tasty for lunch/dinner, I recommend Linda McCartney chorizo and red pepper sausages. I really enjoy them with a poached egg and wilted spinach. Delicious.

ChonkyChook · 22/02/2021 14:43

I'll definitely give them a go @Lostsoul231, are they in the freezer section?

It's glorious weather here, school run (YES!), long walk, big clean on downstairs, bedding washed and out, about to do the school pick up. Feels like Spring!!!

PurpleDaisies · 22/02/2021 15:10

Those sausages are lovely as part of a tomatoey pasta type dish. I really like the m and s chorizo sausages too.

JemimaMuddledUp · 22/02/2021 19:16

Wow, well done on the losses everyone!

My food today:
Breakfast - strawberry meal replacement shake
Mid morning - black coffee, satsuma
Lunch - Chicken and vegetable soup, yoghurt, blueberries
Mid afternoon - Peppermint tea, Alpen Light bar
Dinner - Baked Feta Pasta (yes, the TikTok recipe) and salad

Went out for a 30 minute walk at lunchtime, was really warm and sunny. I can't wait for spring and better weather!

Lostsoul231 · 22/02/2021 20:03

@ChonkyChook
Yes they’re in the freezer section. I’ve tried the other flavours too but red pepper and chorizo is by far my favourite

NoNameNellie · 22/02/2021 20:40

@Persephonegoddess Welcome aboard!

@Lostsoul231 Well done! That's a victory to have not caved into emotional eating!

I've gained weight over this last week... Clocked in at 70.8kg this morning, which is a little frustrating, but not altogether unsurprising given my eating this past week.

It was back to work today, so I'm attacking with renewed vengeance! I managed to get my steps in and I didn't snack at all, despite the urge to buy cakes on the way home this evening.

B : bacon, avocado and egg wholemeal muffins, glass of juice
L : Chicken and bacon bagel, small serve of corn chips with guacamole
D : Carrot and mint salad (delicious and very easy!), grilled chicken breast, slice of homemade banana bread

An OK day for eating, will be looking to eat well and stay off the booze this week!

Thank you for the sausages tip @Lostsoul231! I quite enjoy the LM sausage & red onion ones too (they were free on SW when I did it, I ate a lot of them...!). We eat a lot of Quorn etc as DP can't have too much red meat and says chicken is 'boring' Confused

Stayed the same this week, not ideal but acceptable after having an awful weekend (thank you @Fembot123 for the phone analogy!) - better day today, we did PE with Joe, had a walk round the neighbourhood yet again and I've eaten sensibly. I was looking at the Noom plan having read some good reviews of it - I struggle without daily nagging interaction - but it does seem to be £££ Shock

My meal planning is going, er, slowly. I've printed off some templates and tomorrow will start looking at actual meals; the fridge has been cleared in readiness. For now I am procrastinating on MN Grin

ChonkyChook · 23/02/2021 18:20

I picked up the sausages today.
Might have them for breakfast tomorrow as I'm quite excited to try them.

Had a good day.
Grapefruit and black coffee.
Tuna salad.
Chicken, mushroom and spinach.
Big walk.

Jeans are now visibly loose. Got some plumping facemasks in case my face deflates like a saggy ballsack.

Hope you're all having a good week.

Yes @ChonkyChook, well done 👏 I did my workout before work and stuck to plan, I’m feeling good about myself which doesn’t often happen so I’m happy.
Fembot123 · 23/02/2021 18:37

Stop trying to exploit us poor fatties @RebeccaWilliams 😂
