Forgot to say, you can add apricots instead of or as well as sultanas if you prefer - apricots make it slightly less sweet.

susiecutiebananas · 08/11/2007 10:16

I love the the sound of that LoveAngel. Its sounds really really simple too!
I think that using apricots and lamb would be a fantastic alternative...

I've managed to drink lots of water today already, which is a good start. I feel like i've gone back to the beginning really. SO miserable and fat.
today is the start of a really really good effort for me.
breaky: 4 farleys rusks with skimmed milk
Lunch: flour tortilla with small grating of cheese, and tuna. heated on dry pan to melt the cheese, ( really dieicious, and better alternative to bread.

Fireflytoo · 09/11/2007 08:57

...awwwww...wish i found this thread ages ago. I need to lose 2 stone and i suffer from perverse syndrome. As soon as i decide to start eating sensibly (to lose weight) i find myself shoving chocolates and crisps(i don't really like crisps) and biscuits (don't really like biscuits either)....Where is there a shop that sells will power. Will uss all my chocolate money to buy some.

LoveAngelGabriel · 09/11/2007 13:03

Howdy lay-deeeez. Feeling very under the weather today and like I'm coming down with a cold . Had a nice evening last night - went out to dinner with an old girlriend and had a great time. She thought I'd lost weight (hadn't told her I'd been trying) which was encouraging. Not weighing myself again for a few weeks, I think. I want to be able to fit into my size 12 jeans again, that's my main goal, really.

Yesterday I had:

Breakfast: Bagel with marg & jam, cup of decaf tea
Lunch: Tuna salad, fruit, fat free yog
Afternoon: Coffee, apple juice, water, 1 banana
Dinner: Jerk chicken, rice, salad, 2 daiquiris (!)

pollywollybauble · 09/11/2007 13:14

aw...big cuddles and a bit of brow stroking for LAGabriel and spottyshoes....any better?

firefly...i know what you mean...i really have to keep telling myself that i am doing it for me otherwise i really (irrationally) feel like the diet has been imposed on me and then i just rebel....and then i often don't even taste what i'm eating...its just calorific jaw work

anyway off to get a bit of shopping in
see you later

Ra!Ra!Ra! ladies
sorry if thats a bit loud sshoes..)

pollywollybauble · 09/11/2007 13:15

and i'm glad we won't be losing you beetroot

katybump · 09/11/2007 16:17

had a good day again foodwise

breakfast... banana
lunch...pizza hut but had salad and 1 slice thin crust and a diet coke
not sure about dinner yet
dd poorly now so think this is the third!!
sorry your feeling under the weather loveangelgabriel xx

spottyshoes..... no sympathy

mylittlefreya · 09/11/2007 18:50

Sorry there's so much under-the-weather-ness going around.

DD poorly today - really sad, temperature, off food, and she HATES Calpol. Finally got some ibuprofen in her so she is now sleeping. But urgh I'm exhausted.

I have eaten:
breakfast - can't remember!! Think it was probably toast tho!
lunch - wholemeal pittas and low fat cream cheese, choc chip shortbread (only one tho)
tea - not had yet, but tagliatelle, pesto, mozzarella, rocket.

Get well wishes to all!

tangarine · 09/11/2007 18:51

Hello all,

Thanks loveangel and spottyshoes for your recipes. I ended up baking some sweet potatoes and using up the rest of my never ending roast veg and tomato sauce .

Today;

Special K and coffee
Pret sushi and miso soup
Apple
Small yoghurt drink

Indian takeaway later...chicken tikka and salad

Spottyshoes - oops! hope the hangover has receded by now!

spottyshoes · 09/11/2007 18:57

Evening everone - sounds like you're all being very good! I ended up at Baby singing group dancing around like a fool - definately kill or cure for the hangover but it seemed to shift it!!!

Have binged totally today - very carbtastic

3 pieces of toast - 1 piece at a time throughout the morning!
small bit of homemade macaroni cheese
2 mcdonald hamburgers
small bit of lentil and butternut squash dahl

but despite this I've lost another 2 lbs this week so am at 8lbs and have finally hit my half stone yaaaaay! Only took me nearly 6 weeks but hopefully that means it will stay off.

tangarine · 09/11/2007 20:28

Hey spottyshoes well done on the 8 lbs!

pollywollybauble · 09/11/2007 20:40

golden pompom-shaking spotty shoes!

today
brekkie...fruit and fibre
mids cappuccino

lunch...egg,salad and salad cream sarnie.
mids...1 toast and marmite (damage limitation, was hungry)

eve..onion tart, baked potato, cauliflower and roasted squash. stewed fruit and yoghurt

now...will try to stick with a decaff cappuccino and an early night

(why do i always space my menus out....it makes them look even bigger!!)

pollywollybauble · 09/11/2007 20:41

mylittlefreya...you must have the only child in the universe who doesn't like calpol....i've never met one before!

susiecutiebananas · 09/11/2007 21:26

erm... my Dd dont take calpol or neurophen or medised... I feel like i'm torturing her every time have to give her some. Its so traumatic all round. We all end up wearing it in the end!

So hello there all...

I had fruit and cup of tea for breaky
Tuna pasta and garlic oil for lunch.
Tea: rice with a bit of chicken curry cooked by my mum wiht low fat coconut milk. It was lovely and not too bad either.
one low fat chocoalate pud.

Feel really down about not loosing much. if any weight. I've hardly been eating much really. I think its because i'm even more sedentary than ever at the moment.

keep it going all you successful girls. I'm everso pleased for you... if not a bit envious though.

susiecutiebananas · 09/11/2007 21:30

that should read DOESNT not dont... about the calpol. i've never said dont in such a terribly bad grammatical way EVER in my life... it was a typo.

pollywollybauble · 09/11/2007 21:56

i don't know! children who don't like calpol are like buses....you wait ages for one then 2 come along at once! DD puts in requests for "the pink one" saying "i am a little bit ill, really mummy "

it's horrible not being very mobile isn't it...you just don't need as much to keep your body ticking over...but your mouth still wants its regular excercise!

I hope you have shown those bourbons whats what!

susiecutiebananas · 10/11/2007 00:45

the bourbons are still lurking at the bottom of the breadbin... sadly, i HAD to eat up the doughnuts, and the chocolate puddings first... but honestly, i'm not eating that badly... i mean, no worse than i was when i was loosing before.. the only thing that is different is the lack of mobility.

I think i deserve a pat on the back though, those bourbons have been there for a few weeks now you know! how good am I?

My 3 yr old niece often says she is a liilt bit ill and crys for calpol quite often... I wish isobel didnt see it as such torture! on that note..

she's just woken again, crying.. these bloody teeth! i wish they'd poke through the surface, they are just sitting teasing us all, so we can nearly see them, they are going to get the cleaning of their lives when they poke through, that'll teach them! maybe they'll pass it on to the others and we wont have this for the next few....
