Hi, mylittlepudding. I'm not sure I should tell you this as some people find it impossible to believe but I do put a spoon or two of apricot jam (sometimes raspberry or blaccurrant) in my tea. I call it my own fruit tea and i much prefer it to shop bpught fruit tea which always tastes funny to me (if i can speak of funny doing my own funny tea). That waqy i avoid sugar and i absolutely hate with passion any sweetener. You see how difficult I am?

santaslittlebumper · 09/12/2007 18:48

happy birthday susiecutiemincepies xxx hope your dh treated you well

Jahan · 09/12/2007 20:26

Have had a busy few days so have n't been on-line.
Congratulations santaslittlebumper. Thats so lovely. You have every right to be proud. Good luck in the rest of the competition.

Happy Birthday Susie! Hope you had fun. What present did you choose?

Friday was a good day diet-wise and I managed a long walk too.
Yesterday I had a day off the diet as we were visiting family. I didn't eat as much as I normally would have but had what everyone else was having including a bit of dessert. It was lovely.
My sil told me that I'd lost weight. I just laughed at her and said that I'd only started dieting this week but she insisted that she could tell as my face had slimmed down a bit!
Today;
bf - porridge
lunch - pasta and pesto
dinner - tuna steak, rosted veg, couscous

pollywollybauble · 09/12/2007 21:40

well this eve i've been to my first carol concert in about 20 years(because my friend and her family were in it) and it was really good.....all together now "Glooooooooooooooria, hosannah in excelsis......" i feel really christmassy now

my little pud am impressed at cake making skills....i made one for dd last year and i must have made the icing too runny as it all ran down the sides, dd and i ended up making dams with dolly mixtures round the edge!

happy birthday susie....i hope it has been a good one!

Jahan your jammy tea sounds much nicer than proper fruit teas....i always think that they smell wonderful and then the taste is so disappointing...
foodwise
brekkie....2 crumpets with marmite
lunch...soup, 2 slices bread, satsuma (ok so far) then 2 chocolate truffles and a handful of cocktail nibbly things
eve....2 toast and another truffle and a mocha coffee

pollywollybauble · 09/12/2007 21:43

ps have you had some rest this weekend mylittlepud?

susiecutiemincepies · 10/12/2007 00:40

Awww, thanks girls! how lovely of you

Wellll, saturday was a disaster. Mr C didnt get home until nearly 6pm. He was really ill and couldnt drive. He eventually got on the road, pulled over and fell asleep for 2 hours in the car at the services. He got here, with no voice at all, and coughing so badly.

We DID go out for dinner, but he could hardly talk at all. He tried his best though. We had a lovely dinner, and a few drinks... then came home and fell asleep on the sofa cuddling. It was SO lovely

He took Isobel out shopping today. They came back with cards and gifts. he wants to take me out to choose something else too, but he bought me a huge bottle of Coco Chanel mademoiselle perfume. Smells gorgeous. He sprayed about 20 on him, and decided on that one.

then we went for lunch with friends. It was lovely. just a relaxing afternoon with about 8 friends. then some came home with us, and were lovely to e after he had to go back up north. I wa terribly upset, but had lots of nice cuddles and comfort from them. They also bathed and dressed Isobel for bed and got her off to slepp for me. Fantastic!

Food:

yesterday:
nothing until Dinner which was Mussels woth white wine and some garlic bread. hmmmmmmm

today:
Lunch: Roast beef yorkshire puds and all the trimimmings. Rocky road sundae shared with isobel and Mr C. heavenly, pure heaven.

So, back to the diet tomorrow!

could have been worse

fedda · 10/12/2007 21:39

Oh, dear. I had too much of my soup - in fact the whole saicepan of it from lunch till now. My poor, poor kidneys! And those cups of tea with blackcurrant jam in it! I wonder what night I'm going to have if any! I've been so stupid. All I do is widen my stomach thinking soups are okay so when I don't have soups at a hand I eat non stop because i'm used to having 3 bowls of soup in one go! How stupid can one be!

pollywollybauble · 10/12/2007 23:47

fedda, sounds like we'll both be

|__/-0 tonight....bet mine was more calorific though! seriously though, better to stretch it with low cal soup than hical alcohol chips and a kebab....

anyway today
brekkie...fruit and fibre
lunch tuna and mayo and salad sarnie and a bite of dd's cake and a satsuma
teatime...2 crumpets
eve....mushrooms in garlic sauce, bread, roast salmon new potatoes, green beans and carrots, ice cream with hot chocolate sauce and crunchie nuggets, big orange juice and bl**dy nice it was too.,..

fedda · 10/12/2007 23:56

Yours sounds good to me.

pollywollybauble · 11/12/2007 00:13

good as in tasty , yes. Good as in low cal....nah! you should have seen the size of the ice cream sundae.....

anyway, tomorrow is another day

santaslittlebumper · 11/12/2007 08:58

morning,it's 2 weeks untill christmas !!! AAAAARRRRGGGGGHHH .must be good, must be good, must be good
today i am having 2 x slimfast and then a very healthy dinner plus a very long ,brisk [chilly] walk and i'm going to run up and down stairs until i collapse.i very nearly got my size 10 stretcy skinny jeans all the way up yesterday so that is my goal,if i can fasten them that would be better pmsl.
hope you all have a good day,dd is much better [touch wood] so peace is restored in my house for the moment

fedda · 11/12/2007 11:06

santaslittlebumper, you are doing so well. I'd be very, very happy to get into my size 12 but I have still a long time to go. My awful soup diet yesterday made my wake up 5 times in the night and gues what - I haven't lost a single gramm! Today - poridge with honey and grapes (I put 1 tbs of honey for my two boys and me), school run +walk. Now I'm going to have an apple and blackberries. Lunch will be fresh shop bought winter wegetable soup - I checked fat content, seems okay. Dinner - I'm going to try a new recipy of chicken with honey, dried appricots, coriander and cous cous (I'll have a little portion of cous cous with flaked almonds although it's cereal so not recommended for no carbs after 5 diet. Snacks will be apples. Yesterday O was really thinking of having a crassonant but I held myself away from it. It was hard though.

santaslittlebumper · 11/12/2007 11:21

well done for resisting the coissant[sp],i must admit if dd hadn't been ill i'd have done better but it has been a case of eating as and when and whatever my sister brought up to the hospital for me.am back on the straight and narrow today.feel really positive that i wiil be under 11 stone by next week, just wish my (.)(.) would shrink, they must weigh at least a stone each pmsl

Jahan · 11/12/2007 11:23

Fedda don't worry. Sometimes you can burn more cals eating and processing a low fat veg soup than what the soup contains. I'm sure I've heard that before
I heard someone say on tv the other day that as a nation, we are over fed and under nourished. If you're managing to eat healthy then you're doing really well.

I have got out of my maternity jeans and into some normal ones! Hooray! They are a size 14 and I'm meant to be a size 10, but still, I'm so chuffed. I'm going to chuck my maternity jeans into the Tesco clothes bin this weekend.

I hoped you enjoyed your walk, santaslittlebumper. I walked briskly around the local park with the baby this morning after I dropped ds1 at the nursery and it is really lovely out. I'm sure you'll be in those jeans in no time. Glad to hear your dd is better.

santaslittlebumper · 11/12/2007 11:30

jahan well done for getting your jeans on,that moment when you do up a zip after months of stretchy pants is amazing isn't it!i haven't been for a walk yet,i have to wait in for a courier but they have promised to be here before 12.i've got my trainers on and the buggy ready so once he's been we are off

mylittlepudding · 11/12/2007 12:13

Hi everyone.

Slowly recovering from the lurgy here. Well, dd is, but I've lost my voice, and dp (usually very good) is degenerating into manflu territory.

-1lb for last week yippee don't think I ever said.

I did get some rest at the weekend - it felt really weird! - but good. Not sure my mother did my mental state any good though!

Yesterday went along the lines of
toast
salad w chicken and bacon
birthday cake (someone's got to eat it though!!!)
pasta with spinach and ricotta (no pudding despite dh having mince pie AND cheese and oatcakes, not helpful)

fedda · 11/12/2007 12:20

My wanrmest congratulations to you, jahan and mylittlepudding, i'm going to have winter vegetable soup now.

mylittlepudding · 11/12/2007 14:47

I am sure all these soups are very good for you! I wish I was as healthy - I might lose a bit but it's by a small calorific reduction and lots of walking (mildly aerobic exercise) - it's not healthy in the same way. DD eats way better than me, thankfully. So far, anyway.

fedda · 11/12/2007 19:44

mylittlepudding, whar a lovely name. Walking is very healthy and it's very good for you. I'm walking as well and I love it but in this weather it's not always pleasant. Still, school run on foot is healthy.
