Fedda - how was the tandoori?
Pollywollybauble - seriously, is that all you've eaten today? 4 crumpets and semolina? Poor you. Hope you get better soon.

today I've had;
bf - fruit n fibre, 1 toast, coffee
lunch - cottage cheese and salad roll
dinner - fish and rice stew
snacks nuts, fruit and 1/2 a pain au chocolat

Jahan · 06/12/2007 21:43

Sorry Fedda. I was typing so slowly due to baby on lap. Had started before your post!
Glad to hear was a success.

pollywollybauble · 06/12/2007 21:52

it makes a change....i was hoping i could get better without regaining my appetite!

dd was watching every scrap of semolina i ate longingly and saying are you poorly mummy? ...in a hopeful tone...

off to bed now
night all

fedda · 06/12/2007 22:31

It happened to me many times, Jahan. in fact, I was writing my answer to you and just looked up and saw that you've seen my previous post. Yes, it was very good, thank you for asking.

santaslittlebumper · 07/12/2007 11:38

proud mummy moment....my dd had some photos done for xmas presents a few weeks ago.the place that did them was running a modelling competition so i entered one of her photos
(thinking she wouln't have a chance because of her birth mark ) and she won her heat!!!i am so proud of her and when the letter came i burst into tears.just goes to show that they saw past her birthmark just like i do

fedda · 07/12/2007 16:06

Oh, that's nice.

mylittlepudding · 07/12/2007 16:17

That's brilliant
And did the little beautiful one let her mummy sleep??

I'm coming down with this bug now... like polly I shall try to have lady flu but I'd far rather do it properly and have man flu.

santaslittlebumper · 07/12/2007 17:05

yes,we got a little sleep, well acouple of hours more than the night before
sorry your poorly too now mylittlepudding.i have yet to succumb to the dreaded bug but i am usually ill over christmas so it will be mine turn soon.

breakfast fruit and yoghurt
lunch crispbread and edam cheese
dinner haven't a clue
how's everyone else getting on?

pollywollybauble · 07/12/2007 21:10

i had lady flu for approx 2 hours before taking to my bed in a manflu stylie....not back to my usual self yet but definitely better than yesterday.....have you got your takeover arrangements in place with dh mylittlepud?

2 proud mummy moments in one week katyb ...lots of s....store them up for when they are being little b*ggers!

now then the "can't fight biology" corner.....according to research at bristol uni, compared to people who get 8 hours , people who sleep less than 5 hours a night have 15% more ghrelin, a hormone that increases feelings of hunger and 15% less leptin which suppresses feelings of hunger.....ie it's bloody difficult to lose weight when you aren't sleeping well....so, Ra! Bl**dy Ra! to us all for losing any....we have SUPER wills.....pom pom shake!

today
brekkie...crumpet and marmite
lunch.....tuna salad sarnie
eve ...oven fish, wedges, mushy peas, apple crumble and custard...though less of each than in a previous lifestyle

am now stuffed

susiecutiemincepies · 07/12/2007 21:19

Wow, At least now I know why... biology is on my side! I never use to have any problems loosing weight... this is the reason. so i get probably on average less than 5 hours, nearer to 4 most nights i think. Sadly, its not all in one go either! I dream of the day/ night I get to go to bed, and wake up 8 hours later....

I started SO well until this evening.
2 slim fasts
Pasta with broccoli peas and bit of cheese.

snacks:
apple, satsuma... 2 cookies from millies cookies they did just call and call and call until I ate their naughty white chocoalte and raspberry heads off...

DH stuck in traffic on M6 behind a hay lorry on fire. Fingers crossed it gets moving soon, or else he'll be stopping over somewhere on route. We are going shopping tomorrow for my birthday pressie.. apparently this is what we agreed I have NO recollection of the conversation what so ever, I wonder why...

Hope you are all having lovely evenings

fedda · 07/12/2007 21:37

Yes, it's okay here at the moment. One never knows what's happening next as all these bags are around everywhere. Anyway, no slim fast for me, I call my magic soups slim fast but today I didn't have soup and probably wouldn't have it until Monday now.

pollywollybauble · 07/12/2007 21:41

don't know if theres any research on broken (by others) sleep...prob worse effect tho

susie....your hubby gets into some scrapes doesn't he?....if you've to help him choose your pressie, go upmarket....that'll teach him!
ps better 2 thought about millies cookies than a plate of chips gobbled without a thought......

pollywollybauble · 07/12/2007 21:42

what's in your magic soups Fedda?

fedda · 07/12/2007 21:57

I just call them magic soups, pollywollybauble. I use most vegetables accept for potatoes. My favourite are beetroot, carrots, crushed garlic, can chopped tomatoes and coriander; carrots, peas and coriander; sweet potato and carrots; mushrooms, carrots and onions but I often just use whatever I have at hand and I avoid stock cubes, I just use a lot of vegies and sometimes I blend them, other times I don't. Sometimes I add a tbs of Total Greek yougurt (0% fat). I have to say that sometimes my soup is wonderful, other times, like when I cooked carrots with cabbage, I couldn't stand the smell of it and I had to open the front door to get rid of smell before collecting my kids. It's a matter of trying and experimenting but I don't add any butter, cream, salt, I just flavour my soups with herbs and spices. It does work and after I put on over 1 kg I've lost 500 g by having my soups and a lot of salads with my main course.

susiecutiemincepies · 07/12/2007 22:00

polly Its the same every blooming night of the week. the M6 is a nightmare. most firday nights there is an accident f some sort. He has never just been able to drive down it, with no problems. SO frustating. we were on the phone for nearly an hour, and he had driven 5 miles he heard isobel having he bath, story and feed! He enjoyed the story though, siad i read it better than they do on Radio 4

I'm thinking of jewelry for my birthday... what do you think?

He had better be here in good time tomorrow , or i'll be very upset actually. Cant bare the waiting for him. GOd I miss him. it'll have been 2 weeks since i got to cuddle him, and look at his handsome face. I just want to feel those woolly arms around me at night really, more than anything else... oh, and hear him snoring.

pollywollybauble · 07/12/2007 22:44

susie...i was going along with your fantasies.... until the snoring ....hope he gets there in good time to take you to tiffany's...

thanks fedda, carrot, beetroot and garlic sounds good.....am always grateful to expand my soup repertoire

fedda · 07/12/2007 22:50

You are very welcome, pollywollybauble. What soups do you make?

pollywollybauble · 07/12/2007 23:09

a bit like you really....dh goes and gets a mix of veg and i experiment....
i usually fry an onion and garlic add whatever chopped veg is around, fry a bit longer then add veg stock and a handful of risotto rice/mash to thicken it, stick lid on , simmer half an hour then blend. I like one lentils, carrots and potatoes, flavoured with rosemary/lemon thyme

ps i've been banned from using more than 2 sprouts/one cabbage leaf in a pot LOL

pollywollybauble · 07/12/2007 23:11

also dh makes one where he chars red peppers under the grill, peels them and adds to carrots with a smidge of chilli oil to lift it....really nice

fedda · 07/12/2007 23:55

It all sounds wonderful.

santaslittlebumper · 08/12/2007 20:44

fedda · 08/12/2007 21:57

, , , yes, i did mean it 3 times if not more. Breakfast - poridge - the only sensible thing today. At 11:30 - tea with 2 spoons of aprocot jam sweetened with grape juice and 8 breadsticks (or more. Stopped coutning after 4). Snack - unsalted almonds and roast 3 chestnuts. Dinner - 3 smolish lamb chops with roast shallots, stemed green beans and carrots, a chnk of Camambert with more nuts and coffee with 2 sugars and a small piece of dark chocolate.

mylittlepudding · 09/12/2007 07:05

fedda - did you put the apricot jam in the tea? or on the breadsticks? I am bemused.

I was too yesterday. But I did make an awesome 'official birthday' cake for dd. And eat some....
