Welcome to the new thread!

OP posts:

Well done Katy! More than half way there now!

Today I had

Special K and semi-skimmed milk, coffee
Coffee and a banana (resisted biscuits)
Shapers chicken salad, fruit and yoghurt, water (picked the wrong one up by mistake, I usually have the caesar salad)
Home-made soup with butternut squash, ginger, chicken, leeks, spinach and chicken stock
4 squares of dark chocolate

Susie, sorry to hear that things sound so awful for you - hope tomorrow is better pain-wise.

susiecutiemincepies · 23/11/2007 01:02

was hoping one of yo might be up still.. Im feeling really poorly now. got a temp and coughing with horrible throat... I'm surprised i didnt get it sooner.. seeing though the amount of snot i've ingested from Izzy insisting on kissing me.

I'm feeling really sorry for myself. no change there then... Mr Cutie just got called out to a depot to sort out some kind of fuel pump. He's got to go up on the top of the tanks, its freezing and pissing down with rain.. He's not well either.he said his hard hat is being pounded by rain and its making his head ache even more.

I HATE this. I need him home tomorrow night, in our bed if he has to stay out much longer, hes not going to be well enough to drive home to us...

Oh, also wanted to share some nice news...

Isobel has THREE teeth coming through **

All at the same time though poor little thing!

Bottom right at the front, poked through all serrated. up the top, front two are trying to poke through too.

She such an aversion to calpol , medised and bonjela that its a nightmare! have found out she LOVES apple sliced up left in the fridge though... so she's got lots ready for tomorrow.

Ok, well, ought to at least try and sleep... my pneumonia cold is never going to get better at this rate.

god i really ought not joke about that actually. I've had it 4 times. last year it was terrible.

see you soon girls. hope you get good night sleep, and a good start to your day ( food wise )

susiecutiemincepies · 23/11/2007 01:04

Thank you tangerine btw.. sorry, i forgot. your menu is looking SO good.. you really are doing SO well.

just keep going , just keep going .... sung to finding nemos little tune ; "just keep swimming"

mylittlepudding · 23/11/2007 06:25

Hello everyone

My nephew came to stay on Wednesday and last night we took him in with croup... he was very sad. Hopefully he and my sister will get out today. It's kind of crazy round here. My eating has been awful!

Yesterday
breakfast: toast and raspberry jam, coffee
lunch: egg sandwich (brown bread), few wedges
dinner: 4 cheese canneloni (yum - made the recipe up - calorific but only a small amount was very filling so maybe not so bad??) and glass of wine (earned it from hours in A+E)

I have just realised that the other malt loaf is still intact in my cupboard... oh nooooo... save me from myself!

katybump · 23/11/2007 09:06

susiecutie you deserve a medal for what you go through and to try and lose weight at the same time

mylittlepudding...your poor little nephew,hope he's home soon x

i really hope this is the last of it now! everyone has been ill!

heres to a happy and healthy few weeks in the run up to christmas.

keep wrapped up and get well soon everybody xxx

katybump · 23/11/2007 09:08

tangerine when are you weighing in?you are doing so well! are your clothes feeling looser? weigh ,weigh ,weigh! i know it's all about the numbers but i want to know

katybump · 23/11/2007 09:09

sorry that was supposed to read its not all about the numbers derrrrr

katybump · 23/11/2007 09:45

old but revived thread susiecutie, still piss funny though, oops swearing before the watershed sorry

mylittlepudding · 23/11/2007 18:53

Such a stressful day. My nephew is still in hospital. I am exhausted from being the strong one for everyone. Have eaten ok-ish but am having a glass of wine (not the best coping technique but better than some) and seeing DP off to work.

katybump · 23/11/2007 20:33

oh mylittlepudding big hugs for you x

pollywollybauble · 23/11/2007 21:05

mylittlepudding tell hubby that you need a bit of coddling tonight....hope things get better quickly

cuddles to you too susiec

have spent the afternoon at the hospital for "routine" stuff to do with my MS,being shunted from drs to nurses and bloodletters to pharmacy,,hence the lunch!! Bit fed up myself...obvious that the MS is progressing and when i go to these reviews i have to think about it!

morning....2 crumpets with mushy peas

afternoon flapjack and cappuccino

evening ....carrot soup ,
wedges, butternut squash burger and veg

susiecutiemincepies · 23/11/2007 21:22

Polly darling, , huge huge hugs back to you. sorry you have had a grotty day at the hosp. god life is shitty to us sometimes hey?
Mylittlepud I really hope your nephew starts to improve really really soon... as for being the strong one, it's usually me that does it here, so i always tell myself, someone has to.. might as well be me ! not helpful i know, but you are being strong because you can. Its because of who you are, lovely and caring and kind. Not every one can be strong in these situations. its a blessing, honestly it means alot to the people you are being strong for.

katey: I have the slimfast in the house... thats as far as i've got so far! I'm going to start monday, as no point until then DH likes to eat 'properly' when he's home as he eats junk on the road all week, and in hotels. So we have proper meals brek, lunch and dinner... not bad food, but well, you know!

tangerine: any news on the scales yet????

So, i'm sitting here with piles of tissues, simple linctus, paracetamol, still shivering. this pneumonia cold is really heavy... and anti b's for the most enormous abscess on my tooth in the world. I swear its talking to me from in there.... fooking painful too. Waitng for DH to come home. He's 'resting' somewhere on the M6... God, i wish he'd just get here and rest in our bed!!!

lots of love to all you getting slinkier girls!

tangarine · 23/11/2007 21:33

Hi susiec,

Sorry I missed you last night. Hope you are feeling a bit better and that Mr C is on his way home. How's Isabel's teething? Thank goodness mine are past that stage!

I don't own a pair of scales. But my clothes are a lot looser. I wore some old size 12 jeans today that I haven't had on for ages and they are loose! I weighed myself last w/e when we were staying with friends and I was 10:4 the same as last time I weighed myself at the gym about a month ago so I hope they were wrong. I'l try to get to the gym this w/e, but I'm also studying through the OU and my gym time is limited.

Polly, sorry I hadn't picked up on the MS. Any mylittlepud hope dn is better soon. I remember my ds1 having croup and it was horrible. Very scary.

katybump · 23/11/2007 21:37

katybump · 23/11/2007 21:41

tangarine...you slinky minx ,you slipped in while i was typing! way to go on the loose size 12's

tangarine · 23/11/2007 22:09

Hi katy,

Not so sure about the slinky! But thank you.

katybump · 23/11/2007 22:19

size 12 swiftly heading to a 10 judging by your amazing willpower this week is definately slinky in my book well done xx

Carnival · 23/11/2007 22:24

I lost 2.5 stones too, and have put .7 back on, so want to lose it again before we go on hols in Jan.

My biggest problem is that at about 9.30 every night my DP (who is tall and as thin as a rake) shuffles in and snuggles up beside me with one of the following:

crackers and cheese (often stilton or gorgonzola, my favourite)

chicken goujons

A huge bowl (too big for one, obviously) of Kettle Chips

Cheese on toast

Mini filo pastries (variety of fillings)

then he'll say, "do you want one, honey".

Can this be fair?

pollywollybauble · 23/11/2007 22:35

aah susie it's all teeth down your way at the mo' isn't it...have you tried rubbing some clove oil on your gum and tooth....works like an anaesthetic (stinks though!)

katy and tangerine you pair are definitely slinky malink and slinky macpink....slinkies of the week!!!

I'm not so bad now i've had a big grumble ...i was whingeing to dh whilst clipping my fingernails into a bin that kept falling over, like you do, when i loooked down to see an enormous great spider crawling across my chest and shot out of my skin....after that i veered towards mild hysteria....and have stayed there for the rest of the night....i think i'll skip the wine though, in this mood you'd find me singing "i will survive" at the top of my drunken voice in a gutter somewhere!

pollywollybauble · 23/11/2007 22:40

sorry carnival...cross posted, not being rude!

i have a similarly proportionned dh who does the same thing....he's under instruction to only bring enough in for himself, if i really fancy some i get him to put some on a plate for me (so that i can see what i'm actually eating).....i also mutter dark things about how skinny people can clog up their arteries too

katybump · 23/11/2007 22:47

hiya carnival.welcome to the madhouse.you are more than welcome to join us as we moan , struggle(with illness,dc's and their illness, absent dh's,pita dh's),fight and wrestle to lose every single pound we can in the run up to xmas and beyond

oh and i'm not being slinky tonight.i just shared akebab with dh.he is f.b.i that man ,i tell you

katybump · 23/11/2007 22:49

pollywolly ...eeek on the spider but you'd really eeeek if i told you what dh does with his finger and toenail cuttings

pollywollybauble · 23/11/2007 23:00

if anything like dd ....tries to eat them?

katybump · 23/11/2007 23:04

nope...it's worse

Carnival · 23/11/2007 23:21

KB - cheers.

Do you guys give yourself a few days off at xmas (diet-wise)?

I've been on the f2 plan, high fibre, low fat, low meat protein. Lots of fish, beans, veg. Which makes for a rather windy household. Thankfully, no-ones coming over for xmas lunch
