Fit by end of lockdown

applepineapple · 05/01/2021 20:18

I want to use lockdown 3 to work on my goals and get fit! I was doing really well until Xmas, at 56.9 and yesterday I was at 59.6!

I'm hoping this thread will keep me accountable along with calorie tracking on Lose It and my exercise classes (back on zoom, boo!)

Fresh start from tomorrow with a weigh in ready for the next 5 1/2 weeks or so GrinGrin

Walked to nursery again this morning and was a bit quicker on the way there as we were running late 😳 certainly got my heart rate up.

Before dinner I played ringfit on the switch which is really fun. Just right for me as it’s in small doses and a nice mix of different things.

sar302 · 13/01/2021 16:14

I think the repeated meal thing can be useful. I repeat breakfast and lunch quite a lot. Means I don't have to think about it! And I know roughly what I'm taking in calorie-wise
My real problem is chocolate..... I've stopped ordering it with the weekly shop for now!

Did PE with Joe again this morning, and lots of kitchen dancing with my toddler. Fitbit says 41 active minutes today so far.

I'd like to get out and do more walking. Bring on the better weather!

SingToTheSky · 13/01/2021 16:21

Repeating is definitely a good plan.

After another rushed walk to nursery I was absolutely shattered when home! Got to leave earlier.

I did do a seated exercise workout this afternoon - just ten minutes but it was surprisingly tiring 😳 glad I did it though and the instructor was very motivating.

I’m going to keep a note of all the different YouTube workouts I do this year - things like whether anything in it was too difficult, particularly fun etc.

Got a massive bolognese in the slow cooker, I’ll have less pasta with mine. It’s got loads of veg in too.

applepineapple · 13/01/2021 21:31

Good to know it's not just me with the repetition Grin

Breakfast: porridge
Lunch: stir fry & banana
Snack: protein yoghurt
Dinner: salmon & broccoli pasta

Two lots of exercise today, morning HIIT and then spin after work. Just about to do some walking on the spot to reach my exercise goal for today - annoyingly I need another 6 mins Sad

Many many beans for dinner tonight - feeling virtuous, but warily eyeing the future bloat 😬

40mins of kickboxing for cardio today. I do always feel better after getting my heart rate up for a bit!

Zoom Pilates planned for tomorrow morning. How's everyone else getting on?

SingToTheSky · 14/01/2021 20:14

I’m shattered today. Did the walk to nursery and back again, but nothing since! Well done on the kickboxing!

sar302 · 15/01/2021 18:17

Well the Pilates nearly finished me off this morning! Went into it with already aching muscles and turned my mic off so I could curse lots Grin

It was however lovely to see some people who weren't my husband or my toddler though (sorry boys!) so there's that!

I think tomorrow will be nothing more hardcore than a walk and a stretch...

applepineapple · 15/01/2021 19:56

I've been really crap the last few days, I'm blaming period cravings Blush oh well, tomorrow is a new day so I'll definitely make sure to drink lots of water and stay on track with my meal plan Smile

OP posts:
SingToTheSky · 15/01/2021 20:17

Period cravings make things SO much harder don’t they! I’m due on in the next few days which I suspect isn’t helping my mood or energy levels. I’ve eaten a lot of rubbish today. Did the walk to nursery again - pleased I managed it every day - but nothing this evening. Got to walk to town tomorrow for the pharmacy so that’ll give me some steps.

sar302 · 17/01/2021 15:30

I'm definitely not doing enough daily steps during the week. It's hard during lockdown! Although we did a short, family walk today.

My exercise this weekend has been painting our home office. Have been knocking it out during the toddlers nap time, so we've been speed painting!! Lots of stretching too as we only have one set of step ladders, so maybe I can call it paint yoga...?

applepineapple · 17/01/2021 20:43

Must be the weekend for painting! We've been doing our spare room. The cats have been most unimpressed about this as it's their bedroom! Here's the older one looking very grumpy!

A bit of a crap weekend for the diet, doesn't help when you have a partner who insists on baking lovely chocolate cake. I always feel bad if I don't have a slice (or two Blush)Grin

Back on it next week, two weeks left of Jan and fully intending to stay on track. Got my exercise classes booked, meal plan mostly done and I'm planning on doing 18:6 to give myself a kickstart. I have quite a busy work week so at least that should keep my mind and hands busy so they don't start wandering into the kitchen Grin

Awww lovely cat despite the death stare 😍😁

I’ve still not been doing terribly well with food other than keeping a bigger gap between dinner and breakfast. Im gradually getting more active though - morning nursery runs are going well, and I’ve been able to add in some Ringfit exercise on the switch and a couple of other bits. Just need to keep building it up.

sar302 · 18/01/2021 21:42

I think everyone in the world is decorating their houses right now! It's one of the more sensible uses of being kept at home I think... gorgeous cat by the way!

Yeah, food's not going too well here either. Ive successfully avoided getting chocolate and crisps in with the online shop - so I'm now sitting on the sofa with a teaspoon of Nutella Blush

But I did do PE with Joe again this morning, a very brisk walk to the post box and jumped around to a zoom toddler group like an idiot. Fit bit says 60 active minutes today, so I'll take that as a win!

Def a gradual build up is sensible, else you just ache and never want to do it again!

sar302 · 18/01/2021 21:43

And a second spoon of Nutella...

SingToTheSky · 18/01/2021 22:05

Nutella doesn’t last long in this house 😳😂

I’m already getting a bit hooked on the happy buzz from exercise. I just feel happier when I’m (moderately) active.

I need to come up with a new routine for my very light weights.

applepineapple · 18/01/2021 22:19

Well done on the exercise today! I had HIIT class this morning (always hate dragging my bum out of bed early on a Monday Angry) and barre this evening.

I use Hasfit videos on YouTube for my weights, they have loads of different videos for targeted body parts or all over and they also include modifications too which is helpful. I like the style of videos too, feels like working out with friends Smile

Another early morning tomorrow for yoga and then I need to work out what spin video to do after work.

OP posts:
sar302 · 19/01/2021 20:29

Yeah, there's definitely something about HIIT that gives me a buzz which I don't get from other exercise. I enjoy Pilates and yoga, but it's not buzzy for me.

No exercise for me today. The day has just vanished. But tomorrow is a HIIT day.

Might put an episode of Law and Order on and doing some walking round the living room before bed!

applepineapple · 20/01/2021 20:14

Had a good day today, I didn't feel like snacking this afternoon but I was starving by tea time Grin had to have a hot choc to tide me over Blush

HIIT class done this morning and some very much needed de-stressing Pilates this afternoon. Now I'm about to have a nice hot bath to finish the day Grin

My 18:6 fasting is going quite well, I'm often not that hungry in the mornings anyway. I never used to have breakfast when I was in the office, since I've been home working it's become a habit for me to eat it whether I've been hungry or not.

I did have a cheeky weigh in this morning and I'm pleasantly surprised after a few days of being off the wagon last week. Now I just need to keep going Smile

OP posts:
sar302 · 20/01/2021 22:04

Nicely done!

I did 30mins HIIT this morning, a slightly crazy toddler class and a lot of walking around in front of the tv this evening!

I was going to attempt some yoga this evening, but weve just noticed a massive (new) damp patch on one of the walls in the dining room 😭 my sense of calm has rapidly evaporated....

I'm following suit and trying a gentle daily fast - 7.30pm - 10.00am, about 15hrs? Weirdly I find that if I eat first thing - no matter what the food is - I'm then hungry all day long. If I wait in the morning (particularly if I exercise too) I'm not as hungry throughout.

Go figure 🤷‍♀️

SingToTheSky · 20/01/2021 22:42

I’m managing 14/15h fast most nights, 16 is rarer!

I did more ringfit today, some of the sets were really hard! I need to make a routine on there really but avoiding a couple of the sets as they had planks and mountain climbers which are just beyond me right now. Better to have things I can do for now I think.

I have also decided to get a medicine ball to add to my weights routine when I’m ready - a few different moves I can do with that. Only 3kg though.

SingToTheSky · 20/01/2021 22:43

I find the same with eating earlier - raises my blood sugar too much which then crash making me hungry. I do better if I wait until after I’ve taken DD2 to nursery and then I usually rest a bit before eating. The problem is sometimes I give into cereal at that point anyway, which means I still end up on a bad path for the day (just a shorter day!)

applepineapple · 22/01/2021 19:52

Managed to stay on track the last few days. Being super busy at work has definitely helped!

Booked my exercise classes for the rest of the month, I find if I do it in one go I'm less likely to put it off Smile

I am having Nando's for dinner tomorrow, we never get takeaway so this is definitely a rare treat. Planning on having a beanie pitta, halloumi fries and the new broccoli Grin

OP posts:
sar302 · 22/01/2021 20:01

Mountain climbers are evil 😭

I had Zoom Pilates this morning, which was brutal! Fairly sure I'm going to be feeling it tomorrow!

Going to try some kickboxing over the weekend. Preferably in the morning. That's definitely the time I'm the most likely to commit. By the end of the day all will power has gone and I'm knackered!!

What are people's active plans this weekend?

sar302 · 22/01/2021 20:02

Love a Nando's!

SingToTheSky · 22/01/2021 20:15

We had Nando’s yesterday for DH’s birthday.

Haven’t fasted the last few nights, feeling really off colour today and didn’t get the nursery walk so have stayed home. Hopefully over the weekend I’ll be able to go manage some exercise!
